"THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE RED X" - RED X TEAMS UP WITH MALCHIOR.
THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE RED X
Raven walked to her room, a cup of herbal tea in her hand. She had just left the common room which was more rowdy than she was willing to tolerate (the boys were having an ultimate game off of some sort, she really didn't listen to the explanation they gave her, and Starfire was tending to Silkie. The squishy bug was slobbering everywhere today it seems). The young half demon sighed. She couldn't wait to get to her room so she could relax. Stopping outside her room it was just seconds before the door opened before her.
Raven took one step inside and immediately her eyes settled on the intruder in her room. Her eyes widened and she dropped her tea. "Red X?"
"Hi," he said simply before throwing a red X at her that expanded and forced her back into the wall, pinning her there. He did a two finger salute. "Later."
With a push of the button on his belt he was gone.

Red X walked through a dark cave, his eyes catching sight of the dim light at the end of the tunnel. He walked towards it and entered a large circular space rimmed with candles.
In the middle of the space was Malchior. The dragon turned his head towards Red X. "Did you get it?"
Red X pulled out a large white spell book. "Of course I got it. You're talking to the best thief in Jump City."
Malchior stepped forward. "Give it to me."
Red X immediately withdrew and Malchior hissed at him. Red X circled the dragon whose gaze never left the thief. He wagged a finger at the over grown lizard. "Not yet. I want the Xenothium first."
"Within time," Malchior promised him. "Once I gain the powers of Rorek using the spellbook in your hand my powers will become unlimited. I'll be able to grant you the Xenothium you desire by the dozens."
Red X chuckled. "Sounds good to me."

"How could this happen?" Robin spat as he paced the floor. "How could Red X bipass our systems again?"
As the boy wonder complained and grunted as the other Titans watched him from the sofa.
Cyborg, who was standing, looked at Beast Boy and the girls who were sitting down. His gaze focused on Raven. "You said you found him in your room, right? Was anything of value missing?"
"Just one of my spellbooks."
"What does Red X need a spellbook for?" Beast Boy pondered. "He already has that kick butt suit he stole from Robin."
The boy wonder glared at the changeling, his glare sending a boxing glove that targeted the green teen and knocked him upwards into the ceiling.
Beast Boy landed on the sofa next to Raven. He shook his head to compose himself and then gasped in fright. "You don't think he's out to steal something valuable from all of us do you? I gotta protect my stash!"
"Your stash of what?" Cyborg questioned.
"Duh. My video games and comic books."
Raven sighed and shook her head. Starfire, who was sitting besides her, spoke next. "Perhaps Red X has stolen your book to sell it to the highest of bidders."
"But that doesn't make sense," Raven responded. "Who could possibly need one of my spell books?"
There was a moment of silence as the four Titans on the sofa pondered the answer to this question. The group of four didn't have a clue, but Robin had a suggestion.
"I have a pretty good guess, and if I'm right we're in trouble."
The others looked at each other, then at their leader.
Robin's eyes narrowed. "Malchior."
TT
Red X watched from afar as Malchior sat in the middle of the circular space inside the cave. The book was laid out infront of the dragon as he read its chant outloud.
"Is this going to take long?" Red X interrupted, leaning against the wall of the cave.
Malchior narrowed his eyes. "If I'm to gain Rorek's powers we must be patient so the spell may be done correctly."
"Right. Rorek. The guy who creamed you way back when."
Flames came out of Malchior's nostrils and he tried his best not to let the comment irritate him too much as he continued the spell.
As he continued on with the spell the wind around them began to change. It was becoming stronger. The lit candles began to flicker on and off. Abruptly the fire to the candles increased, skimming the ceiling to the cave. The flames became purple and Malchior chanted louder. His eyes began to glow white and suddenly the flames wrapped around him, becoming so bright that Red X had to use his cape as a shield. Eventually the flames dispersed and the cave was filled with a purple smoke.
Red X lowered his cape as the fog slowly left the cave. He could see something emerging from it, something tall and human shaped. "Malchior?"
What stepped before Red X's eyes was a humanoid dragon. It wore silver armor and had long white hair that poured down its back. It looked at Red X.
"It is me...," the creature that Red X now knew to be Malchior said. Malchior looked at his hands, his black scaley hands complete with fingers and claws. He laughed. "It worked. The spell worked!" He balled his hands into fist. "I ahve never felt so powerful. The power of Rorek is finally mine!"
Red X broke the moment with a slow, unenthusiastic clap. The dragon humaniod looked at him with distain, a hiss rumbling in his throat.
"How very nice for you. Now, about my Xenothium..."
Malchior's red eyes narrowed and his lips curled into a smirk. "You have served your purpose and will be rewarded as such."
Malchior pressed his palms together and slowly drew them apart, a vile that was filled with a red power source appearing. Red X's eyes widened in anticipation and he stepped closer to Malchior, his eyes focused on the vile. As the thief drew closer Malchior extended the vile to hand to Red X, the thief's gloved hand just inches away... before he tossed it to the floor.
"No!" Red X's eyes widened in surprise as the vile shattered, its contents spilling to the floor, now completely useless. Red X gazed at the broken vile, mourning it for just a moment before turning to Malchior in a fit of rage, his fist clenched. "Why did you do that?"
"Because you fool, I don't need you anymore," Malchior spat, spinning on his heel and smacking Red X with his tail which tossed the boy dressed in black into the cave's wall. Red X slumped to the ground unmoving.
Malchior spared his former partner one glance before exiting the cave. Once he was outside black bat-like wings sprouted on his back and he took off into the darken sky.
"Jump City is mine."
TT
The Titans raced across the city. Beast Boy, Raven and Cyborg were in the T-car while Starfire and Robin were on the R-cycle.
From the back of the T-car Raven's eyes ceased their glow and she groaned in frustration. "I can't get a lock on Malchior anywhere. Maybe we were wrong and he's not the reason Red X stole my spellbook."
The others considered this option in silence, but suddenly they caught sight of something that shocked them all and caused their vehicles to skid to a hault. Wordlessly they stepped out of the car (off of the motorcycle in Robin and Starfire's case) and looked at the creature in the middle of the sky.
It was Malchior. His maniacal laughter filled the sky and he was throwing fire from his hands, washing Jump City in his inferno. The sky was black behind him, giving off a spooky look.
Thinking back to Raven's last words, Beast Boy spoke. "You sure about that?"
Cyborg flapped his arms wildly. "That's Malchior? I thought Malchior was a dragon!"
"His new form can only mean one thing," Raven began. "He's already used the spellbook."
"How do we stop him?" Robin asked immediately.
"There's a spell that I could use but it's in the spellbook Red X stole."
Starfire looked worried. "What shall we do?"
"Spellbook or no spellbook, Malchior's going down," Robin announced as his masked eyes narrowed. "Titans, go!"
Beast Boy turned into a pegasus and Cyborg jumped on his back. The two made their way towards Malchior, Starfire flying right behind them.
Immediately they were spotted.
Malchior grinned. "The Titans. Jump City will truly become mine once I defeat you all."
"As if we're going to let that happen!" Cyborg shouted, firing his sonic cannon.
Malchior blocked the attack with the palm of his hand. His hand acted as a mirror and sent the attack back at Cyborg and Beast Boy. It was a direct hit and the two fell like stones from the sky. Luckily for them Raven caught them just in time.
"Silly mortals," Malchior said with a chuckle. A second later a starbolt hit him in the face. He turned to his right and growled at Starfire just before another starbolt hit him. "Pesky alien!"
Malchior opened his mouth and breathed fire. Starfire had not been expecting that and was easily caught in his line of fire, but quick thinking on Robin's part got her away from the inferno just in time. He had used his grappling hook to capture her ankle, then he quickly pulled her away, the fire passing over her head by mere inches.
Raven went in to attack next. "Azarath, Metrion, Zin-"
Malchior caught her by her throat before she could finish. Raven gasped and clawed at his wrist, struggling to get free. He leaned in close to her face and Raven could feel the heat of the fire leaking from his mouth as he talked. "You could join me, Raven. Together, we could rule side by side."
Despite the situation she was in she narrowed her eyes at him. "I would never join you."
"Then you will fall with your comrades," he said, opening his mouth wider, ready to spit out his flames.
He never got the chance.
A constrictive restraint in the shape of a red X sealed his mouth. Then a couple of x-shuriken flew at his hands, releasing his grip on Raven and giving the half demon enough time to sneak away to rejoin her friends on the ground. Malchior moved to grab her, but was stopped by an explosive x being thrown at him.
The Titans looked on in bewilderment.
"It couldn't be...," Cyborg muttered.
Red X teleported infront of the Titans.
"Red X," Robin spat, birdarang in hand.
Red X held up his hands innocently. "Hold on there, Chuckles. I'm on your side."
Starfire's eyes glowed. "Were you not in a partnership with Malchior?"
"Well I was but he didn't have enough cookies," Red X replied jokingly.
"Did he really not have cookies?" Beast Boy asked seriously and was smacked on the head by Raven for his words.
"What are you doing here?" Raven demanded.
"I came to return this," Red X said, revealing her spellbook. He handed it to Raven. "Turns out making deals with dragons is a big no-no."
"He double crossed you," Robin said simply. "Didn't he?"
"Always the detective," Red X responded after a pause. "What's the plan for stopping Malchior? I want in."
The team, plus Red X, looked at Robin. The boy wonder ignored this and turned to Raven. "You said before there was a spell you could use in that book to stop Malchior. Are you positive it'll work?"
Raven nodded. "I'll need some time. Just keep Malchior at bay."
"You heard her. Titans, go!" Robin heard a cough to his side and looked at the thief standing besides him. "... You too, Red X."
"I'm honored," Red X said sarcastically before joining the others in battle. In the meantime Raven opened the book to the page she needed and got into her mediation mode.
Malchior caught sight of Raven and his eyes widened in fear. It didn't take long for him to figure out what she was planning. "Disgusting witch!"
"I wouldn't pay attention to her if I were you lizard breath," Cyborg called out, shooting his sonic cannon at the villain.
"You fool. Your technology won't work on me," Malchior mocked, using the palm of his hand to block the attack again.
Just like before the attack was redirected at Cyborg, but Beast Boy, in pterodactyl form, scooped him up in time to avoid the hit. With his attention focused on the two, Malchior didn't see Starfire coming from behind. The alien princess hit him with a massive starbolt that forced him into the ground.
When he hit the ground his body formed a crater, and just as he was climbing out of it he was forced back in by Robin who pulled him with his grappling hook. The humanoid dragon quickly broke the line with his claws. Malchior turned his head towards Robin and breathed his fire, but Robin was quickly saved by the teleporting Red X. Malchior turned his head in confusion, wondering where the two might pop up.
He hadn't been expecting Cyborg and Starfire to double team him and hit him from both sides.
As he kneeled to the ground in pain Beast Boy, who was in the form of a elephant, came charging in. Malchior's body was thrown like a rag doll, rolling over the concrete. He lifted himself up, his eyes looking for his opponents, and his gaze fell upon Raven.
Her eyes were glowing, her hair fanning out around her face. Her lips moved quickly, the words pouring from her lips as she said the necessary chant. The words from the book left their pages and circled her. The spell was nearly complete.
"No!" he yelled, standing up and running towards her, only to be blocked by Red X and Robin.
"Going somewhere?" Robin asked with a smirk.
Malchior roared at them, the pressure of his roar throwing them backwards into a random car, caving in the door and shattering the windows. He turned back to Raven, ready to advance upon her, but was blocked Cyborg and Starfire. Using the telekinesis power he gained from his spell he threw them away and out of his path. He moved towards Raven once more, but the smallest Titan stood infront of him.
"You're not touching her," Beast Boy growled.
Malchior grabbed Beast Boy by his head, his hand large enough to cover the changeling's face. Beast Boy kicked his legs and punched his fist against Malchior's arm but to no avail. "I shall end you and then I shall end her," Malchior told the young hero, his free hand engulfed by fire.
Before he could attack a blinding light startled him, causing him to drop Beast Boy to the ground. The white light came from Raven, her chant finally complete, and filled the area.
When the light disappeared Raven's eyes stopped glowing, and the stress of it all forced her to lose her balance.
She never hit the ground.
Strong arms caught her, and when she looked up to see who had caught her she knew her spell had worked. "Hello, Rorek."
A man with long white hair and silver armor and light blue eyes looked at her. "Hello. For what purpose have you summoned me?"
Raven stood up straight and pointed at Malchior. Rorek narrowed his eyes in disapproval. "I see Malchior has escaped his emprisonment. I suppose a stronger seal is necessary."
"Is it really possible to trap him while he's like this?"
"I'm Rorek of Nol," he said as he stepped forward. "Anything is possible."
The wizard continued forward, and it didn't take long for Malchior to spot him. "You!" he hissed angrily. He sprouted wings on his back and attempted to fly away. "I will not let you seal me away again!"
"You shall not escape fiend!" Rorek shouted, sprouting white angel-like wings. He flew after Malchior and drew his sword.
As he got closer the sword doubled in size and glowed white. Once he was close enough, Rorek slashed at the beast and Malchior's body twisted and turned until it was sucked into the sword. With him trapped inside the sword, Rorek slipped his weapon back into its sheath.
"Our battle ends here, Malchior," Rorek said to himself as his body began to disappear into dust, the sword turning into dust as well. Before his face turned into dust and scattered to the wind, Rorek spared a glance at Raven. "Good luck to you, young sorceress."
Raven smiled at his words, and just like that Rorek had faded away, the sky changing back to its natural blue thanks to Malchior's defeat.
"Uh... what just happened?" Beast Boy asked, stepping up to Raven along with the rest of the team.
"Rorek sacrificed his physical form to seal Malchior."
"Okey dokey. Then I just have one more question," Beast Boy said. "What happened to Red X?"
The others looked around. Red X was nowhere to be seen.
"He must have snuck away during all the excitment," Cyborg suggested. He crossed his arms and shook his head. "You know, I just don't get that guy. This isn't the first time he's helped us out."
"He would make an excellent hero," Starfire commented.
"He would have to give up being a thief first," Raven pointed out.
"Who knows, maybe he will. Someday," Robin said, smiling at his team.

I like to think that Red X would change his ways and become a Titan. Will I make a chapter like that? No. But it's nice to hint at that possibility.
SPECIAL THANKS TO the anonymous reviewer (to answer your question really quick; no, Slade will not be making an appearence), Agent of the Divine One, Magic Kiwi, Random Task, Pineapple girl 1997, chipmunkswillrule, Gabrielus Prime, BerryDrops AND DoubleCresentMoon FOR THE AWESOME REVIEWS! I APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH! AND I SURE HOPE YOU ALL LIKED THIS CHAPTER!
This chapter is dedicated to TitanFan222 who really wanted me to bring in Rorek and was looking forward to seeing Red X.
Okay people, bad news time. I start school again on Monday. So we all know what that means... my attention won't be one hundred percent on Fanfiction anymore. Hopefully though it won't be too much of a hinderance and I'll be able to update regularly. Probably not as quick as I would like, but quicker than I did with Hanging By A Moment. No more one year breaks for me!
Anywho... 5 more chapters to go and this story will be finished!
NEXT CHAPTER: THE TITAN BOYS ARE IN TROUBLE, AND IT IS UP TO THE TITAN GIRLS TO SAVE THEM.
