CHAPTER ONE

It's Emily's first swim meet back on the team and all of her friends are there to support her. Take a look around, off in a little corner sit Hanna and Caleb. Caleb is working diligently on his laptop. Look around more and you can see Spencer and Aria waiting for Emily talking about something. Closer, you can here their conversation. "Why is Em taking so long? You really need it get home soon before your parents suspect anything," said Spencer. "It's fine. They won't think anything about it; I said we were all studying at the library," Aria responded. Spencer then stares off thinking hard about something. "Spence, are you okay?"

"Yeah. I'm fine."

"Is it about tonight?"

Spencer nodded back in reply. Why was she worried? They have done much worse than meeting with some man who might give the more clues to the murder of their friend, Alison DiLaurentis. Thinking about it made Spencer's stomach curl. She tried to shake it out of her head, but that failed. Aria tried to change the subject. "So our moms talked about the… situation. Your family wants you back at your house. You can't just stay at my house and pretend like nothing is wrong."

"Well, there is obviously something wrong. My father is also the father of Jason DiLaurentis. He never told me. And Ali; Ali knew, and she never told me. We all just lived like nothing was wrong, but now everything is crashing down. People keep secrets and lie, Aria, but Ali should have told me and now I can't ask her why she never did."

"Spencer, please, is there anything I can do?"

Spencer was about to say something, but then the Rosewood swimmers burst through the door and everyone cheered. Emily walked out with the big first place trophy. Emily scanned the room and saw all of her friends waiting for her. Then Maya came up and hugged her. The rest of Emily's friends slowly gathered around the champ.

"So Emily, we can have the team party at my house. My mom said it was cool. It just can't be like the last one." Hanna said.

"Thank you! That's so great Han!"

A terrified look came upon both Spencer's and Aria's faces. The other girls turned around to see Officer Garrett Reynolds and another cop walk through the door. Hanna got nervous as she saw them saunter pass them and make a beeline towards Caleb.

"Mr. Caleb Rivers, we are here to take your laptop, court orders," said Officer Reynolds.

"Why Sir?" asked the surprisingly calm teenager.

"Well someone has been hacking into school classified files, and you are that someone we are thinking did it."

"I didn't do it."

"I traced them back to you. Hand over the laptop"

Caleb unwillingly gives it to Garrett. He would fight, but he knows how to handle the police. Garrett then asked if there would be any passwords they would need to know.

"The order said you could take the laptop, not anything in my head."

The two officers walked off with the laptop. Hanna, just around the corner, heard everything. She then came up to Caleb.

"What the hell was that?"

"They just wanted the laptop."
"There is so much on there, so much you could get busted for."

"Stop worrying. It's all under control."

"How can I stop worrying about it?"

"They won't be able to get it; no matter how hard they try." Caleb then kissed Hanna's head as a sign that everything would be okay.

Hanna quickly walked back with her friends. She then explained to them what had just happened. Now all four of them were worried. As if it was on cue, all of their phones went off. They all read a cryptic message about the laptop and Caleb all signed with the signature A.
