Quiet scares me as I jolt awake. I turn my head over to see the door between me and Katniss's room is shut and the sudden feeling of loneliness takes over. I swing my legs down to the floor and walk to a mirror. It's strange because I've only seen my reflection is water. You couldn't tell me and Katniss were sisters. We had the same dark hair, round cheeks and button nose, but the eyes are so different you could say we're from another district. She has the same gray that all of district 12 has, and I have round, bright green eyes. District 12. I race for the window. The bright light makes my world go white for a moment, but when it fades I am greeted by tall buildings and bright blue skies. I see the residents smiling and jumping as they recognize a tribute train. Effie calls me to breakfast. I give into hunger and slip on a simple gray T-shirt and some cargo shorts. I pin my Mocking Jay pin on and slip down the corridors to the Dining Car. I'm the first one besides Haymitch as Effie goes to wake Peeta and Katniss. Knowing my sister, she was us hours ago. Haymitch looks me over and I steer clear of his gaze. Peeta enters first and takes a seat next to me. I casually ignore my blush. "Tomorrow is your first day in the Training Center. Me and Effie have for for today Haymitch says with a roll stuffed in his mouth. None of us say anything. I'm too busy playing around with my pin. "Peeta will go with me first. You two go with Effie" There's a hostile vibe between Haymitch and Katniss, and I can't help but wonder if I messed something by not going to dinner. "Fine" Katniss snaps back. We all keep piling more food onto our plates, and with Peeta sitting next to me, I intentionally steer clear of all things bread.
