So how was the previous chapter? Don't worry Book 2 will be longer since it doesn't have a much of a time limit as in Book 1. Also, be sure to post any questions that aren't answered in Book 1, as I think this next chapter is Book 2. I didn't feel like putting the books separate since it would cause trouble for you guys. And once again, writer's block XD. Yes, I know. If you have any ideas that could help me, PM me or put it in the review. If it somehow fits into the plot I set up in my head, then I might incorporate it. Thanks guys! And please review!

Also, thks to those who have reviewed. It really helps as I have a lot of hw and find it hard to get time to write fanfic. I am so sorry for the late update! As for the dream that Lily saw, that we actually true. The part that occurred in the nightmare was when Cheryl got blasted to the wall.

I don't own Legend of Korra.

Book 2:Bonds

Chapter 1: Arrival

Irwin's POV:

After hearing the announcement, and later, somehow managing to get the Nations back in order after the Red Lotus left I went to search for the kids with Jinora's help by using a sky bison. It had been a long time, but Jinora still remembered the location of that fateful day and got Pepper to go there. As we got ready to land, we found the Red Lotus and Team Avatar talking a bit which confused me. When we stopped Bryant turned around carrying an unconscious Cheryl. She had some cuts and bruises too. Jinora and me rushed up to his side wondering what had happened.

"What happened? Is she okay?" She asked. The boy had tired eyes and was about to speak when Akina stepped in. She carefully brushed some of Cheryl's bangs away from the girl's eyes.

"She just finished a fight with the Red Lotus leader. Just some injuries, but she's mostly exhausted from entering the Avatar State." The Avatar State? Cheryl couldn't have mastered it yet … I examined the

rest of the kids, each bruised up a bit, though not as must as Cheryl. She must have activated it out of fear or something, judging by the condition the teens were in, the questions should be asked later. I opened up my arms and gestured to have me carry Cheryl instead. Bryant seemed a bit reluctant, but by appearance, it looked like his arms wanted to give out so he placed the sleeping girl in my arms. She stirred a bit in the transition but went back to a peaceful sleep. She looked so much more fragile and small compared to when I first met it. It was kinda hard to believe it was the same person.

"What are we going to do about her?" I heard Lily say. I turned around and found her poking a limp woman wearing tattered Red Lotus clothing, half of her body in the earth.

"Lily!" Sean pulled his sister away from Oka.

"It's okay, Cheryl took her bending." Akina reassured Sean.

"What?!" Everyone shrieked. Akina covered her ears from the uproar. She simply sighed and explained how it worked. The Red Lotus members seemed scared, and nervous knowing about the girl's other powers.

"So … the fights over. Everyone's neutral?" Jinora questioned.

"Pretty much." I narrowed my eyes on the Red Lotus. They seemed to have some guilt in their facial expression, but I didn't trust them as much. They did hurt my mother, both in her lifetime, and now, Cheryl. It isn't really possible to tell if their truly good, unless we had a lie detector. Which, we didn't have, and Cheryl was knocked out. (A/N: Yes, Cheryl has pretty much every Earth Bending tech except for Lava bending).

"I could chi-block them. Irwin and Jinora could bring them to wherever you want them, while we bring Cheryl to Republic City." Lily pipped up. Jinora stroked her chin carefully, trying to decided the consequence of the actions. Considering that the Earth Queen wasn't very fond of the Avatar, and President Raiko wasn't much into the Red Lotus, that might have been the best choice. Besides, the children could receive shelter from the girl's parents.

"Ok, but I need their word for it."

"How can you be sure to trust them?" I whispered to Jinora.

"Zaheer did help Korra once." She responded back quietly so only that I could hear. I let out a sigh, the only thing I could do was pray to the spirits.

I climbed onto the back of Pepper and laid Cheryl on the saddle while Lily started chi-blocking the Red Lotus members. Then, I took a blanket from one of our supply bags and tucked it around her to keep her warm. If I was a healer like my mom, I could heal her injuries, but I wasn't so that was all I could do to help Cheryl. I gave her a tiny squeeze on her shoulders kinda like the hug I give to my daughter when I would visit other countries.

"Kids, take care of each other okay?" I told them. Akina and Sean nodded wearily back to me before focusing their attention on getting the people all board. Once everyone was on board the plane including the one stuck in earth, Jinora and me gave our goodbyes to the teens. Bryant came out of the cockpit.

"I set up the speed to the max and to the Fire Nation like you told me. Should take 2 hours at most to get there." He told me. I nodded and gave him my thanks. When we took off, I prayed to the spirits that everything would turn alright.

Akina's POV:

We took the sky bison to Republic City as told, the rider seemingly taking forever. Once again, I had taken control of the bison since I was more familiar with the area and knew the way to the city. Lily had fallen asleep next to Cheryl, clutching her arm. Bryant looked like his eyes were going to close any minute, but resisted the urge to. Sean on the other hand seemed strong throughout the ride and stared out into the endless sky. The shades of orange and red had covered to sky by now and only further reminded how so much had happened in just a few days. I'm surprised I had the energy to continue flying the bison. I leaned against the bison's back and yawned.

Before I knew it I had fallen asleep, but the next day I found us hovering nearby Republic City in broad daylight! What was strange though was the green Airships and Airplanes planted around the city's outskirts. I looked down on the bison's head, it let a soft grunt. Well it made sense considering that it was Jinora's, she did live in the city. I gave it a hug on the head for bringing us here.

"Thanks." I told it. Pepper let out a happy sound as it lowered itself somewhere near the spirit wilds.

I went to the saddle to wake up the others except Cheryl, who I knew was going to take longer to recover. I first shook Sean awake, he stretched his arms and slowly opened his eyes. After realizing that we had gotten to our destination he went to full operation to get Bryant and Lily up.

Lily groaned as she got up, her grip on Cheryl's arm still tight as if afraid that Cheryl may leave her side at any moment. When Bryant woke up sympathy spread across his face when he saw Lily's gesture. I gently pried Lily's off of Cheryl's arm so that Bryant could carry Cheryl down from the bison.

When we all got off, I had a strange vibe coming from the city. Normally the metropolis was bustling with people and noise. However, today the grounds were bare. Even the spirits were gone. The only sound was the rustling of the nearby leaves blown from the wind.

"HEY! What are you kids doing out on the streets?!" We turned around finding in Earth Kingdom guard uniform running toward us from a block away. I notice Bryant's grip on Cheryl get tighter.

"Only certified people are suppose to be out in this hour. Didn't you watch the TV?" He continued on.

We all looked down at the ground, not sure as to how to respond.

"Why is that girl hurt? And why are you all beat up? I going to need to take you guys in."

"They're with me!" We heard an old woman shout from afar. A woman probably of Fire Nation decent with gray hair and dressed in business attire rushed over.

"I'm been looking for you guys all over the place. It's easy to get lost on these streets." She scolded us.

"They're with you ?" The guard questioned. She nodded and ushered us away from the man.

"Yes. Sorry for the inconvenience they caused you. Come along children." The man bowed and left. We were about the ask her why she helped us, but she shushed us and simply led us (including the bison) in this mansion. I began to think inquire about her identity when we entered to gigantic house. , high position in society, rich... Could it be? I shook my head. Why make assumptions now?

Asami's POV:

The spirits had dragged me to some people with a sky bison before disappearing into nothing. Feeling pity and something like a spiritual connection with them, I decided to cover for them. Each were beat up, but the unconscious girl in one of the boy's arms looked disastrous. Her clothing was even more tattered then the others, and the wounds looked bigger too. I had them rushed to my palace without having any questions answered as that would bring more attention to us.

When we got to my mansion, I brought the group of kids to one of the guest rooms to lay the girl down. Then, I went to get a bucket of water and got a towel from the drawers. The boy carrying the bruised up girl had already tucked her into the bed. I soaked the cloth in the bucket of water before placing it on the girl's forehead. Her expression seemed to relax a bit with the towel on her head. I then checked her pulse. It was steady and normal. I sighed in relief before slumping into a nearby wooden chair. The other kids sat in the spare chairs, not saying a word. Finally, the older girl in water tribe clothing broke the silence.

"Why did you help us?"

"Tell me a little about yourselves." I replied, curious as to their background. The four looked at each other before the eldest boy nodded. The Water Tribe girl sighed.

"I'm Akina. This is Bryant, Sean, and Lily. And Cheryl." She paused, thinking about what to say next.

"I'm Asami Sato. Nice to meet you all." Akina gasped. The rest of them stared in confusion at Akina's reaction.

"Asami Sato...As in Asami of the Future Industries...Best Friend of Avatar Korra?" Her response, partially a questioned. I smiled, she was smart.

"The one and only. You are one intelligent girl. How did you figure it out?"

"Well...you seemed to have authority...you live in a huge mansion...and history is kinda my thing."

"Nice. It's always nice to have a little background information. Can you tell me a little more about yourselves?"

Akina gave a reassuring nod to her friends. Bryant seemed hesitant, Sean's expression was monotone. Lily fidgeted around in her seat, not caring much about the situation.

"Umm, well. I guess we can say that we're the new … Team Avatar?" Wait, what? I looked back and fourth between Cheryl and her friends. It made sense considering that they looked like that just exited a battle field.

"So... who's the Avatar?" My voice wavering a bit, it felt such a long time saying the word Avatar. Whenever I thought about the word, it just reminded me of how Korra was no longer with us. They all looked at Cheryl. So Korra had reincarnated into Cheryl. I wondered if it was possible for her to remember me. I pushed that thought away. Asami, Korra is Korra … and she's gone. I felt tears brimming on my eyes, I carefully brushed them away. I quickly got up and faked a smile to cover up my tears.

"Why don't I get you guys some new clothes, something to eat, and helped you get settled in?"

"Really?" The youngest of the group jumped up from her seat and hugged me tightly "Thank you for helping us." Lily said in a sweet tone. I chuckled. Akina stepped up.

"You sure it won't be too much trouble?"

"Nonsense. I was part of Team Avatar too you know?" I winked back.

"Oh, almost forgot." I pulled out a white cotton PJ with pink bunny imprints from a drawer and gave it to Akina.

"You seemed to be the mom of the group. Change Cheryl into this, it'll help with her sleep." I added. Akina thanked me before pushing the guys and Lily out of the room.

I clapped twice, summoning my butler.

"Please help heal their wounds, give them a nice bath, and some fresh new attire based on their preference. Then, bring them to the dinning hall, and prepare any dishes they want."

"Yes. ." He bowed, and led to others away. Lily's eyes gleamed with joy as she followed the butler down the stairs with Bryant and Sean.

I closed the door and re-soaked the towel before placing it on Cheryl's forehead again while Akina changed Cheryl. That's when I noticed the severe injuries both girls had. Akina's wasn't as bad as Cheryl, but still...

"What happened to you guys?" I asked once we were done putting on the PJ's. She leaned on the drawer before speaking.

"It was the Red Lotus all over again." She simply replied. Red Lotus? They were after the Avatar again?!

"How did you guys fair?" Though I already knew one half of the answer judging by the way they looked.

"Cheryl was forced into the Avatar State by..." I waited patiently for her answer.

"By...by...by us 4's near death experience." I think back to whenever Korra went into the Avatar State. She usually activated on her own quite well, the only other time it wasn't activated like that was when Zaheer had poisoned her.

"It was scary seeing Cheryl that way. I have heard of the Avatar State, but seeing Cheryl go in it against her will made the experience … painful." Akina looked up, seeing how I would respond.

"I haven't seem Korra go into it that way, but when I think about the time when Zaheer battles Korra … I think I know how you feel."

"This time it was his daughter."

"His daughter?!"

"Quite a revengeful one indeed." An awkward silence then covered the room. I stared back at Cheryl, would she be okay?

"I'm a healer, I treat her later." Akina said, seemingly reading my brain.

"But you guys are exhausted. I'll go get medical supplies and see what I can do for now." I protested. She nodded back, not arguing with me. It's probably because she's tired. I led her down the stairs to where the others are.

After I showed her the way, I went to the second floor to pick up medical supplies. Even though my specialty was machines, I knew how to treat minor injuries. I climbed back to Cheryl's group and set down the items. I decided to work on the limbs and let Akina heal their them properly later. Re-wetting the towel. I remembered the times I took care of Korra after the events of her nearly dying. I had promised to help her in whatever way I could at that time. I'll do the same for her reincarnation despite the fact that this girl already had amazing friends. Korra, I hope you are doing well in the spirit world. And as your best friend, I'll hope the same for you in the material world.

Asami is back! Sorry that this chapter is shorter and doesn't really move through the plot much. I had something planned for the next chapter and wanted to separate the two. Once again, PM me the ideas and please review.
