A/N: Sorry for the delay! I was busy with school, and I hads no extra time T_T. I know I've said this probably waaaay too much, but the responses to the chapters really make me feel pleased. I can't believe I'm on 24 favs and 42 follows! Wow, just wow. That is something. I still sadly don't own RWBY. That (for now) belongs to Monty Oum and Roosterteeth.

*Chapter 6*

Cardin had to admit he didn't expect Adam to own a driver's license, let alone a car. When CASL walked out into the parking lot, he was surprised at the model Adam currently owned.

"When did you get this?" Sky asked, a gleam in his eyes.

"About a week before transferring here. An old friend and I bought it together," the bull Faunas answered, a small smile on his lips. He opened the door, "Well, don't be shy; come on in."

Cardin took his invitation and sat down, marveling at the interior.

"Wow, this is really comfortable," he said, running a hand over the leather upholstery. Velvet sat down in the back next to Cardin, who made room for her. Sky took the front passenger seat, and Adam teased, "Aw no, I have the blues in my car."

"Very funny Adam," Sky muttered dryly. Adam nudged him, "Come on, liven up a bit. Cardin ain't going anywhere."

Adam turned on the car's engine, and they could hear the beautiful purr coming from the exhaust. Jaguars certainly lived up to that part of their reputation. Adam revved the engine, "By the way, I'll admit I'm a bit of a speed demon."

"Wait, what?" Sky was confused until Adam put his foot on the gas and took off.

Cardin always loved speed. It was another thing that could soothe him and bring his emotions under control. Sky never really cared, as long as he was on time.

Velvet, however, didn't seem to care much for speed. As a matter of fact, she was clinging on to her seatbelt with her eyes clenched shut. A small whimper escaped her lips, and Cardin turned to her.

"Are you okay?" he asked, concern in his voice. Velvet shook her head, "I don't really like going fast in cars."

"Hey Adam, you mind slowing down a bit? Velvet's not feeling so good," Cardin called.

"Sure, no problem," Adam replied, easing up his hold on the throttle. Velvet's face regained some of its lost color and she sighed, leaning back.

"Sorry, it's just I get nervous when I go fast," she said in embarrassment. Cardin patted her on the head, "Don't be; we all have our things we fear."

Velvet looked up at him. "You too?"

Cardin nodded. "Especially me. And I'm not ashamed to admit what my fear is."

"What is it?" the rabbit Faunas asked. Cardin took a deep breath before he answered. "I'm afraid of clowns."

Adam hit the brakes hard, making the tires squeal in pain. Once they were stopped, Adam looked back. "Are you being serious? Please tell me you are, and this isn't a joke."

Cardin nodded, not having any shame. "Yeah, I always had a fear of clowns, ever since I was a kid. I know it may seem a tad silly, but it is what it is." Adam shook his head before driving off again. "I would have never guessed."

Sky tapped his shoulder. "Um, Adam? We have a bit of a problem." The bull Faunas turned around, and he saw what happened. When he had hit the brakes, he had also sheared off quite a bit of his rear tires in the process. He groaned at the sight. "Oh Goddammit. I didn't want that to happen. Especially since I got these tires last week."

Cardin observed the scene. "They must have been low quality to wear out that fast. What do you do on your spare time, drag race?"

"Yes," Adam replied with a straight face. Sky sighed and looked up at the roof, muttering under his breath about something about wasting rubber. Velvet pointed out the window. "What about there? I've heard they make really great foreign food."

Cardin stroked his chin. "Hm, I am feeling a little curious, but is it expensive? I don't want to empty my bank account just yet."

"I have only about 450 lien on me right now," Sky said apologetically, holding the money out. He snatched his hand away from a mischievous Adam. "Nice try. It ain't happening."

"But I'm nearly out myself!"

"Don't waste so much on tires from racing then."

"Killjoy."

Velvet cleared her throat. "Instead of sitting in here bickering, why don't we go see what's on the menu?" The two males stopped, with Cardin chuckling slightly. "She beat me to it."

Velvet rolled her eyes and opened the door, followed by the other three. She smelled something from the restaurant, and it was delicious. "Mmm, that smells good~!"

Cardin looked at her in amusement. "Did you just do a chibi impression?"

"Yes I did."

Cardin chuckled and led the rest of CASL into the restaurant, a place by the name of 'A King's Feast.' He looked at the entrance, and he could hear it was bustling with people. "Sounds rather busy. Hopefully we'll have some seats inside."

He pushed open the doors, and he was greeted by several waitresses. "Good evening Master Winchester! How may we serve you?"

Cardin smiled, happy that they recognized him and treated him well, despite who his father was. "I need a table for four, but I'm not in a rush."

One of the waitresses, a young redhead with the nametag Sarah, nodded quickly. "Oh no, we have a table open for you. Please, follow this way."

Cardin waved, and the rest of CASL followed him to their table. Once seated, Sarah brought them menus, and she left them to give them time to choose.

Cardin looked over the menu with a careful eye. 'This is relatively cheap, and it looks good.' He turned a page, and he found something that looked appealing. "Hm, I'm thinking about choosing the Shell steaks and mashed potatoes."

Sky smirked and nudged him. "Feeling extra 'meaty' are we?" Cardin and Adam rolled their eyes at the terrible pun, the latter muttering, "If you make one that bad again, I'll have to put tobasco sauce in your water."

Cardin chuckled. "Nah, he might like that. Put some lemon juice in it. He'll be a little 'sour'." Several groans were heard from Velvet and Adam. The orange-haired teen put his hands up. "Sorry, sorry. I couldn't resist."

Velvet shook her head. "Anyways, I'm taking the Chicken Parmesean. It's been awhile since I last had some." Adam pushed his mask up before sighing. "I only want a Bacon Cheeseburger."

Sky was the final one to decide, and his choice wasn't too surprising to Cardin, having known him in his previous life. The blue-haired boy cleared his throat. "I'm having the baked shrimp and crab legs combo." This left Velvet and Adam to stare at him.

After a few minutes, Sarah came by and received their orders. After the orders were placed, Cardin pulled out his textbook for History. "Do we have any History homework?"

Adam nodded, pulling his books out as well. "We have to read pages 1-35 and write a one-page essay on the Battle of Fort Castle, due two days from now. Better get started then."

As they read, Cardin made sure to study the material as best he could, for he knew that Professor Oobleck would throw a random test at them just to see if they actually read. Not that Cardin was too surprised, having known the extremely hyper-active teacher from before.

'The Human forces had lost a large number of skilled recruits during a previous engagement, and were also down on supplies. As a result, General Lagune tried to ambush the Faunas forces at night, thinking they would be asleep. Clearly, this was not the case, as the Faunas were expecting the inexperienced General to do this tactic, and the Battle of Fort Castle resulted in the key victory for the Faunas, the major turning point in the war,' Cardin read silently.

Satisfied with what he had now, he began to write, stopping only when Sarah arrived with their food. He rubbed his hands, the wonderful aroma wafting over to him. "Now that looks good."

Cardin picked up his fork and began to eat, perking up as the tender flavor flowed across his taste buds. It was perfectly done; medium are, just how he liked it, and the potatoes were not watery, tasting slightly buttery. He wiped a swirl of potatoes from his cheek. "Now that's what I call a meal."

Adam nodded, adjusting his mask so it didn't fall off. "The burgers here are pretty good too. And that's kinda funny, coming from a bull." Several snickers were heard from Sky, who was quieted by Cardin attempting to pour lemon juice in his water. The blue-haired boy pushed his arm away. "Ain't happening mate."

"Dammit," Cardin muttered, looking away. He wasn't the best at stealth; that would be either Adam or Velvet, as they were quicker and more agile than the other two. Velvet giggled at Cardin's reaction.

They hurriedly ate the rest of their meals, not wanting to be staying too long. Sarah came by, and Cardin made sure to give her a healthy tip for being so efficient. The waitress smiled happily and bowed before him. "Thank you Master Winchester. You are truly generous."

Cardin was happy to hear that, as he wanted to be different from the hateful man he was previously. So far, he was off to one hell of a start.

'I doubt my father is going to be pleased once he hears that Adam and Velvet are on my team, but I honestly don't give a damn what that bigot thinks. Faunas are people too, and humans are the lesser ones for shunning them,' Cardin thought as he exited the restaurant with his teammates, getting into Adam's car.

As the bull Faunas drove them back to Beacon, Cardin was mentally singing a song he had stuck in his head for the last few hours, 'The Skies Above.' It wasn't the latest song, but it was very catchy to say the least. He shook his head, trying to figure out why it was in his mind.

'I haven't even played Final Fantasy X recently,' Cardin thought. He looked out the window as Adam drove back to Beacon.

After thirty minutes, they were back, the sun just beginning to touch the horizon. They went back to their dorm, and they met Professor Goodwitch. The blonde disciplinarian pushed her glasses up upon seeing CASL. "Mr. Winchester, Professor Ozpin would like to see you in his office."

Cardin tilted his head, confused. He didn't know why the headmaster wanted to see him, but he wasn't going to question Goodwitch's authority, for it would only get him into trouble.

Instead of protesting, he nodded. "Of course, I'll be on my way immediately." He waved his team along. "Go on; I'll join you in a bit."

Cardin walked through the hallways, and he arrived in front of Professor Ozpin's office. He knocked on the door. "Headmaster? You wished to see me?"

"Yes I did. Please, do enter. There is something I would like to discuss with you in private," the headmaster answered. Cardin entered the door, and all around him were pictures of several teams throughout Beacon's long and glorious history.

One caught the indigo eyed boy's eye, and he peered closer to get a better look. "Team WING huh?"

He looked back towards the headmaster, taking a seat before him. "What may the matter be, sir?"

Ozpin shifted his glasses ever so slightly. "Mr. Winchester, I wanted to discuss the incident that happened in Professor Oobleck's class earlier today. Would you mind telling me what happened exactly?"

Cardin took a deep breath. "I'm not sure if you know, but my father is a cruel human. I can't think of anyone worse than him off the top of my head. In class, we got into a discussion about Faunas Rights, and it brought up some bad memories for me."

Ozpin leaned forward. "I know you don't want to become like your father, and the fact that you have two Faunas on your team will help you become a better person. Especially Mr. Taurus."

Cardin looked up. "I'm sorry that I left class sir. It won't happen again." Ozpin nodded, satisfied with what he heard. "You may leave now."

Cardin exited the headmaster's office, and he ran to his dorm, not wanting to be out after curfew.

He entered the dorm, and his team was waiting for him. Sky was the first one up. "You didn't get in trouble did you?"

Cardin shook his head, trying to reassure his teammates. "Don't worry. I'm not in trouble. The headmaster just wanted to make sure everything was alright after what happened in History."

After a few sighs of relief, CASL flicked out the lights and climbed into bed, Cardin being the last to fall asleep. 'I don't know why I have this second chance, but I'm going to take it and redeem myself.'

A/N: Again, I apologize for the late update. Either way, I hope you enjoyed it, even though it was a bit short, and I'm hoping to hear from you. See you!
