She dresses up for him. Not all the time (and she rejects some of his costume ideas), yet she buys fancy underwear, or, just to see him squirm in MacLaren's, puts on a sundress. One such night, he's all over her as soon as they're in the cab, tracing her shoulders and legs with his fingers.

"Saucy little minx. You sundressed up,"

"You know it,"

"I know it's to turn me on like crazy all that time you were sitting next to me,"

"What?" she asks innocently, and that look alone is enough to make him grunt and shift further over to her, almost squashing her against the taxi door.

"Calm down," she says, pulling him back by his collar, "We're in a cab,"

"Hasn't stopped us before,"

It was ten days ago, which was only two days after their kiss in the hospital, so they were mental for each other all the time, and it was all new and desperately exciting. Still is. They didn't go all the way in the taxi that night, but far enough for the driver to shoot them disapproving but endless glances.

Barney's nibbling her neck and his arms are all around her, and he wonders briefly why they're bothering going the twenty-three minutes back to his place rather than the twenty-three seconds up the stairs back to hers.

"Let's go back to the apartment," he says breathlessly. They all know that 'the apartment' refers to the one she shares with Ted.

"We're in the cab now," she points out, "We're going to yours,"

"I can behave or I can wait," he tells her sharply, "Don't wear that dress if you want me to do both,"

Robin laughs and nips his ear.

"Right, cos that helps," he mutters.

"This might help, too," she retorts sweetly, undoing his blue Stefano Ricci tie, and using it to bind his wrists together. Barney lets her, but snarls and snaps his teeth all the same. Robin presses a kiss gently to his pointy jawbone, then suckers her mouth hard to his neck. The remainder of the cab ride goes by in a blur of making out and love-biting. If the driver notices, he doesn't say anything. When the taxi halts outside Barney's lace on the East Side, they get out of opposite doors, and in the three seconds it takes Robin go get out of her side, round the back of the car and onto the kerb, Barney's miraculously managed to get the tie off his wrists and perfectly back around his collar.

"How did y-"

"What?" he asks innocently, like he hasn't noticed anything.

"Your- never mind,"

"Stop being weird, let's just get inside my place so I can get inside your place,"

"How can you possibly think that sounds sexy?"

"I don't. But this does," he says, opening the lobby door and launching into a considerably more elaborate and mouth-watering description of exactly what he's going to do to her once they're in his bedroom. It's so detailed that it takes the entire wait for the elevator, elevator ride and half the walk down the corridor before he's finished. Barney takes his key out of his inside pocket, but at the last minute he snaps around and pins Robin against the wall with his hips and shoulders. She isn't particularly trapped but that's not the point- the point is ensuring that she can feel every inch of his body against hers.

"Now you see how I've been feeling all night with you in that dress," he mutters, gliding his hips against hers.

"For God's sake, let's get on with it,"

"Romantic," Barney notes, "Anyway, I like hanging out here. By this wall. Watching you think about how disgustingly sexy I am. Feeling it, too,"

"Watching me think that you should cut to the chase, and by the chase I mean the bedroom," she retorts sardonically.

"You started it. You wore that dress,"

But he lets her go anyway and before he can move she's yanking him down the corridor by his tie.

"H-ow, gerroff,"

"Give me the key,"

"No. Let go," he croaks.

She yanks the tie sharply so that the knot becomes tiny and taught.

"Edgar!" Barney squeals.

"Give me the key,"

He shoves it irritably into her hand and protectively fondles the tight knot around his neck as they enter his apartment.

"You've been putting Edgar and me through quite the ordeal tonight," Barney grouses.

But he isn't complaining for much longer.
