Admiral Yin pulled himself up out of the water and onto the concrete dock with a gasp. He had been confused about how he has been seemingly propping himself up on the water's surface, but when his strength gave out he had been so surprised he had not prepared himself. And despite being in the South Pacific the water around their island base was exceedingly cold.
Shaking off as much water as he could, Yin walked into the base and into his office. Pulling the base tablet out of its case, and being thankful that both the case and it were waterproof, he then noticed a blinking message. Letting out a sigh Yin swept his finger across the screen to open the message, and a look of nervous worry seeped across his face as he saw the title of the email on his screen
"Notice of Assistance Fleet Activation of Duty"

Musashi raised her arm in the air and allowed her small observation plane to land on her arm and slide up her shoulder. It turned to her and squeaked a few times before then sliding away into the folds of her clothing.
"Did it find anything?" Tenryuu asked carefully.
Musashi answered with a nod. "Six abyssal ships. Three I-classes and two Ha-classes."
". . . and?" Shimakaze asked impatiently.
Musashi looked to Shimakaze, and then oddly enough, to Wo. "A Wo-class aircraft carrier."
Wo looked as Shimakaze, Musashi and Tenryuu looked to her with worried eyes. ". . . What?"
"Fighting I-class and Ha-class is one thing, but will you be okay fighting against another Wo-class, Wo?" Tenryuu asked carefully.
Wo puffed her cheeks in anger. "I'll be fine, Tenryuu-onee-san. It's not the same as me and hurts people. Why would it be a problem?"
"Tenryuu merely worries you will find fighting something so similar to yourself difficult. " Musashi explained calmly.
Wo looked at her for a moment before replying. "Oh. . . . . . . I'll be fine though, okay?"
"Will you now? Will you really?" Shimakaze asked in a harsh tone as she turned her gaze away from Wo.
Wo nodded. "I will."
"That is enough for this, Musashi. Let us take the enemy on then." Musashi proclaimed.
"Yeah, let's go and give you your first real battle, Wo!" Tenryuu then exclaimed as well, spurring everyone on to begin moving across the sea toward their enemies.
It took only a matter of minutes for them to find their foe, and when they it was obvious she was strange. Something was very wrong with their enemy. Standing before them with the I-class and Ha-class surrounding her, was the enemy Wo-class. Standing there in her black and white clothing and armour her face was expressionless, and her headgears own eyes glowed vibrantly yellow. With a swing of her staff, dozens of abyssal fighters, bombers, and torpedo bombers popped out of the water, the battle beginning as soon as they began firing.
Destroying the Ha and I-class' was done in an instant, and in that instant it was realized this enemy Wo-class was as dangerous as they had worried. With every passing second she summoned more and more abyssal planes of every kind, and try as she might, Wo herself could not keep up; she just couldn't summon enough of her own planes to counter the abyssal Wo-class's own air force.
"This is ridiculous!" Tenryuu yelled as she dodged the enemy's fire, striking abyssal planes from the sky with her blade. "We can't even get close to her!"
"Damn planes!" Shimakaze screamed as she sped around to dodge fire. "Can't you do something about them, Wo!"
Wo shook her head as she swung her staff and tried to summoned some planes, only receiving three. "I can't seem to summon any more unless I lose some that are already out. I can only have thirty out, and all are fighters trying to stop hers!"
"This Musashi believes we may have to regroup, or endanger ourselves in offence if we are to gain victory here! This Wo-class is just plainly to strong!"
"GGRRRRR, then what do we do? I'm sure I could take her if I could get close!"
Musashi looked at Tenryuu for a moment before smiling. "Then let that be tried. Wo, direct all your planes to guard Tenryuu, Shimakaze and I shall provide covering fire. Let's make this quick if we can!"
Tenryuu grinned as Musashi and Shimakaze opened fire at the enemy Wo, ignoring the fighters and bombers that strafed them. Using the chance Tenryuu dropped her excess gear, her cannon, torpedoes and depth charges, and rushed forward toward the enemy Wo. Enemies fighters and Wo's flew all around her, and many rounds skimmed her, causing Tenryuu to grimace in pain. Pain was but a momentary thing however, and Tenryuu quickly came into range of the enemy Wo, and thrust her blade forward to impale it.
But she didn't.
As she thrust struck the enemy Wo spun to the side, dodging her blade completely and swung her staff in a hard arc, striking Tenryuu on the back of the neck, knocking her down to the waters hard surface. As Tenryuu tried to lift herself she felt a sharp pain between her shoulder blades as her body was forced down against the waters surface. Turning her head she could see the enemy Wo-class looking at her expressionlessly as she pushed her boot into Tenryuu's back. "You little-!" Tenryuu growled before screaming in pain as the enemy Wo pushed her heel harder into her back.
As the pain caused tears to form in Tenryuu's eyes, it let up and disappeared. Looking up, and hoping not to have her head stepped on next, Tenryuu saw the enemy Wo-class almost a dozen feet away from her, staff fighting with Wo. Both of their head gear's tentacles were swinging at the other as the two of their staves clashed together, making audible clanks of steel on steel as they did. With amazing skill for one so young Wo parried the enemy Wo-class's attacks while throwing out her own strikes upon her, every few moments summoning more planes.
Tenryuu watched as the enemy Wo-class's expressionless face began to show fear then horror as the sharp bottom end of Wo's bright silver staff turned and pierced the Wo-class up through her lower belly and out her back between her shoulder blades. Waiting until the light disappeared from both the headgears, and the Wo-class's eyes, Wo yanked her staff out of the Wo-class, and watched the body fall backward lifelessly.
Tenryuu watched as Wo turned to her and almost gasped in shock. Across Wo's face was a look that was neither fear, enjoyment, terror, or even sadness. Tenryuu could not tell what it was, but it worried her none the less.
Shaking her head quickly Wo ran over to Tenryuu and helped her up with a smile. "Are you okay Tenryuu-onee-san?"'
Tenryuu nodded as she noticed Shimakaze and Musashi running over to them. "I – I think so. Did you-?"
Wo turned her gaze from Tenryuu's, looking away. "I'm sorry, but when I saw the Wo-class dodge your strike I couldn't help myself from rushing to help."
Tenryuu shook her head. "No, no, no, it's quite alright, I- I honestly might've been in trouble if you hadn't come to help, so thank you, Wo.
Wo smiled at Tenryuu as Musashi and Shimakaze rushed up, quickly asking the obvious questions. The way back to the base was happy and loud, everyone including Shimakaze offering their thoughts on Wo's impressive first performance.

That night Wo sat up against the wall of Tenryuu's room, a room for herself having yet to be cleaned up, and thought to herself.
Fighting the enemy Wo-class was a strange feeling in itself, almost like fighting your double, but with enough practice she thought she could handle that. The enemy Wo-class was not the same as her and seemed to hold no emotions, attempting to kill Tenryuu-onee-san. They were completely different from each other, and Wo could not even fathom having such a lack of emotion. She knew she was not the same and fighting the Wo-class did not worry her much after the fact.
What worried her was the noise.
As she had killed the Wo-class, she could have sworn she heard a long deep sound, almost like a drum beat or a creature's moan from deep below them, far in the dark of the water. Hearing the sound had terrified her and caused her to shiver. But what terrified her most was the image that crossed her mind as she heard it, images of her staff impaling Tenryuu and Shimakaze, of her headgear opening up and sinking its teeth into Musashi's body, and images of her hands strangling the life from the Admiral.
These images terrified her, not because of what they were or how vivid they had been, but because she didn't know why she suddenly saw such gruesome and terrifying images. Letting out a heavy breath, Wo calmed herself down and reasserted her own beliefs. She would never do anything even close to what those images showed her, and would never let such a thing happen. She swore it to herself.
Authors notes: ah I like fight scenes. I hope the anime (when it actually frikkin comes out!) has good fights to it.
I doubt I need to explain the sound thing but I will say something completely off topic, well almost off topic.
I have posted a new kantai collection oneshot fic! It is called the last day afloat, and I'd love it if people shared their thoughts on it, or on this chapter. Heck with it I just like hearing peoples thoughts.
Either way this chapter was rather quick for me to type, but long to spellcheck, so I hope I got all the mistakes and i hope you enjoyed it!
