Okay, so this chapter was originally planned to be two chapters. But after re-reading the original chapter 4, it seemed to end way too quickly for no real reason. So, seeing how chapter 5 was already done, I decided to combine the two because why not?
Hope you will enjoy this one like I enjoyed writing it!
Sonic and his friends were slowly getting adjusted to this futuristic city they arrived at. San-Fransokyo sounded like a pretty cool name in Tails's opinion, once they saw it being written on a billboard somewhere near where they ended up following the teleportation.
After they recovered from the trip, the trio found an empty ally where they could analyze their situation. They had one of the seven Chaos Emeralds, the dark blue one, and Knuckles still held on to his precious Master Emerald. Eggman was somewhere in this unfamiliar city, probably planning something bad in order to take over the world, which ever one he would choose; and according to Knuckles, who saw a reflection of the emeralds in the Mater Emerald; the other six gems of power were spread throughout the city, most likely a result of the teleportation not going according to plan.
Sonic, Tails and Knuckles started their search for the emeralds shortly after gathering up the information; using the emerald they already had as a way to track the other ones. A city this big would usually encourage the team to split up in order to cover more ground at once; but seeing how they only had one emerald, they needed to stick together for the time being.
The trio searched the six remaining emeralds for a long time, eventually reaching into the evening hours, and it didn't even look like they checked half the city yet. Sonic would have been convinced that he could have covered the entire town with his speed; but he, along with his friends, decided to keep a low profile while exploring this foreign town. Unless they will have no choice but to expose themselves.
Eventually, after hours of continuous searching, Tails noticed that the emerald in his hand started to glow more and more, indicating that an emerald was close by. "Sonic! Check it out!" He said, causing the hedgehog and the echidna to look at the emerald which continued to glow.
Just then, the trio noticed what seemed like a person in a yellow and black suit skating by them, which caused the emerald to glow brighter once the person passed near them. Once he, or she, got farer away, the glow started to dim down. To add to the entire thing, a group of ladybug like robots, which looked all too familiar to Sonic and the gang, was in pursuit after the speeding person.
"Badniks…" Sonic said, once he recognized the creations.
"And where there are Badniks, there is an Eggman." Knuckles added.
"Okay, low profile is no longer a concern for us." Sonic stated, before turning to Tails and Knuckles. "You guys will head in the direction that person and the Badniks came from. Like Knuckles said, their tracks might lead us to Eggman."
Tails and Knuckles nodded at what Sonic just told them. "I'm assuming you are going to try and catch up to whoever has the emerald?" Tails asked.
"Not try, buddy." The hedgehog said with a confident chuckle. "I AM catching up to whoever has the emerald. We will meet back here just in case." And with that, Sonic speeded after his target. Tails and Knuckles went the opposite way, hoping they could find Eggman, who already seemed to be causing trouble.
Go-Go was dashing through the streets and between buildings with those robots still hot on her back. The girl was shocked to see them actually managing to catch up with her fast movment, as if they were designed to chase something capable of the same speed, if not faster.
After turning endlessly, believing she had gone through a large chunk of the city, and seeing how she didn't manage to outrun the robots, Go-Go decided that she had enough. "Alright, it's a fight you want? It's a fight you will get!" Once she said that, a disc came to her hand from the wheel attached to her leg and she spun around throwing it at the robots.
The disc hit one of the robots in the face, causing it to di-function. The disc returned to Go-Go's hand upon impact and she threw it at another robot, who suffered the same fate. However, it seemed like the attack wasn't fast enough to get the entire army that came after the girl, and they were closing in on her.
However, just as Go-Go thought that she was about to lose, the robots were taken down by what she could only describe as a blue blur. Go-Go just stared at the sparking robots that lay broken in front of her, as the blue spinning ball that apparently saved her spun around in mid-air.
The blur then stopped spinning to reveal a blue hedgehog, wearing shoes, gloves, and looking surprisingly humanoid. "You okay there?" And it also talks...
Go-Go held her disc in defense against this strange creature. "Stand back!" She shouted, attempting to sound brave and calm.
Sonic held his hands up and slowly waved them downwards. "I'm not going to hurt you." He said as he got closer to her. "I just saved your life after all."
That last addition to the sentence seemed to annoy Go-Go. "Saved my life? Yeah right, Freak. I could have taken them down even without you." She claimed.
Sonic's hands completely dropped to his sides at what she said. "Oh, you are one of those people." He said, not impressed.
"What does that mean?" She asked him, even more annoyed.
"Doesn't matter." Sonic stopped the conversation before it went in a direction that he didn't want it to go. "Listen, that emerald you're holding," he gestured to her hand. "is a very powerful item which I'm trying to find and keep away from the bad guy, who sent the robots after you."
Sonic's words had an un-certain effect on the girl. She wasn't sure if she should believe him and give him the gem, as it was pretty wired for a talking hedgehog to randomly show up and claim to know what is going on. Then again, he seemed to know what is going on.
However, before Go-Go could have dedicated any further thought to the situation, she was contacted by Hiro.
"Go-Go, are you okay? Get back as soon as you can. There are two humanoid animals in here, helping us fighting this wired doctor!" Her teammate said, sounding both amazed and freaked out.
"On my way." She replied before turning to face Sonic. "I got to run now. But I will consider if I should trust you or not, Hedgehog." With these few words, Go-Go started dashing away back to Hiro's garage.
But much to her shock and surprise, the hedgehog was running right beside her and catching up with her. "Wha…? How… How can you keep up with me?" She asked, not believing what she saw.
Sonic let out a small giggle at her response. "Catching up with you is not even my morning routine." He claimed as he continued to run alongside her. Judging by what her friend said, following her will led him to Tails and Knuckles… and Eggman…
The encounter with these "Super-Hero" guys didn't go fully according to Eggman's plan. Infect, he didn't even expect for the holders of the emerald to stand up to him, let alone fight his Badniks.
The group handled what was thrown at them without much sweat, as the robots weren't really all that dangerous. Hiro used his Micro-Bots in order to crush them with various shapes and forms he could create with his invention. Baymax was using the Karate moves he was programmed with against the lesser robots. Honey used her chemical balls to either blow the robots up, or to make them stop dead in their tracks, giving Fred an opportunity to breath fire at them, thus increasing the damage done to them; and it also helped Wasabi to cut through them with his laser blades more easily.
Midway through the fight, Tails and Knuckles came in to help once they noticed Eggman at the scene. Knuckles charged at some of the attacking robots with his strong fists, disabling each one of the robots with a single punch. Tails used his tails as a means of attack, spinning them constantly at the robots and cutting through them.
The group of Super-Heroes was shocked at what they just witnessed. "Are you guys seeing this?" Hiro asked his teammates.
"It's like if my comic books came to life…" Fred said as he watched Tails and Knuckles taking care of the robots. "AWESOME!"
"And pretty freaky…" Wasabi added to Fred's description.
Hiro contacted Go-Go about the matter, while the others still watched the events happening. "Go-Go will be back here soon." He informed the rest of the team as the two strange animals stopped the robots and, even more surprising, started to talk.
"We found you, Eggman!" The young fox said.
"You indeed have." Eggman admitted. "However…" He said right before he pressed a button on the control panel in his Egg-Mobile and an army of more menacing looking robots, colored in dark purple and equipped with cannons in their arms, showed up. "I think I have you outnumbered now. So, just hand over any emeralds you may have and no one will get hurt."
Knuckles let out an unimpressed "Pfft." at the threat. "And by no one you probably mean you and your pathetic robots." The echidna punched his first against his palm, ready to destroy some more of Eggman's robots if needed.
"You know? He has a point, Boss." Orbot told his master, earning him a slap from Eggman.
"Very well… if that's what you want…" The doctor said while the heroes got into fighting stances.
Sonic and Go-Go were running side by side, much to the hedgehog's displeasure as he was used to running faster than this; but he needed to run at Go-Go's pace because losing her will mean losing his way and not finding his destination.
"Is this seriously the fastest you can go?" Sonic asked the girl, who turned to look at him quit angrily because of that comment.
"Got a problem with that, hedgehog?" She asked.
"Well, yeah actually. You're too slow…" He silently muttered.
Thankfully though, the two have reached close enough to the garage in order to see Eggman talking to the team and Sonic's friends with an army of robots ready to attack.
"Well, we arrived just in time…" Sonic said as he jugged in place for a bit before curling into a ball form and lunching straight towards the robots at an incredible speed that caught Go-Go off guard.
"What the…!?" She couldn't even finish the sentence because here's this hedgehog, already taking down more than half of the robot army, breaking every speed record she has ever achived without breaking a sweat. Go-Go hurried back to re-unit with her group, who stood and stared dumbfounded at the incredible speed this blue hedgehog was going at.
"Patient is moving too fast." Baymax informed as he tried to scan Sonic, as he was program to scan anyone and anything he comes across. "Scan cannot be completed."
"I see, buddy." Hiro said, eyes wide at the speed the hedgehog was moving at.
When all the robots were destroyed Sonic uncurled and dusted himself, like the action was actually forcing him to put an effort into it. "Different universe and time, same old robots." He said before turning his head to the floating vehicle in the sky which was piloted by his old enemy. "Is this really it, Egghead? You can do better…"
"Laugh all you want, Sonic. You may have won this battle, but the war is just beginning!" The doctor exclaimed before making a temporary retreat and flying away from the garage.
Sonic sighed and shook his head; some things will apparently never change. The hedgehog then remembered that before the entire thing with Eggman started, he was talking to that girl in the yellow and black suit and he turned to address her.
"So, about that emerald…"
"I said we will consider if we should trust you with it." Go-Go objected before Sonic could even finish.
"And who is "We"?" Knuckles asked, ready for another fight if the situation called for it.
"I believe she meant us." Hiro slowly said while gesturing to his team. "We are "Big Hero 6", the defenders of this city."
"You mean like a Super-Hero team?" Tails asked intrigued, followed by a call of "Cool" when they all nodded.
"Well, Big Hero 6, may I have a word with the leader?" Sonic asked, his gaze following the fingers pointing at the teenager in the blue and black suit, who turned a bit nervous at his freinds' actions.
Sonic approached Hiro and offered his hand for a shake. "My name is Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog." He introduced himself, gesturing for Hiro to shake his hand. When the young teen looked unsure if he should trust Sonic, the hedgehog reassured him. "I just helped you and your team Dude, no need to be nervous." Sonic chuckled a bit.
"I'm not nervous!" Hiro blurted out, trying to look like the strong leader of the team.
"Your neurotransmission levels are lower than usual. An effect mostly caused by: stress, panic and nervousness." Baymax informed Hiro, causing the teen to face-palm.
"Looks like your robot thinks otherwise." The hedgehog commented.
Tails have inspected Baymax once he heard the robot talking. "Did it just talk fluently? Wow! This future is so awesome! Look at this armor!" The fox continued to examine the robot, impressed by what he saw."
Sonic couldn't help but chuckle at Tails's childish observation, before he remembered he still had a negotiation to handle. "So, what is your name?"
"I'm Hiro Hamada. And… don't take it the wrong way. My team and I thank you for your help. But I think we will keep this emerald with us for a little while. I want to examine it a bit."
Knuckles was the next one to speak. "Listen, kiddo. You and your team have no idea what you're playing with here. So, give us the Chaos Emerald and stay out of our…" Knuckles stopped talking when Sonic raised his arm to stop him from talking and advancing any more.
"Fair enough." Sonic stated, for the surprise of everyone. "You can run your tests on it if you want to, seeing how you are against Eggman." Sonic said as he mentioned for Tails it was time to leave while Knuckles couldn't believe Sonic just let them hold on to the emerald.
"We will meet again, Big Hero 6." Sonic told them with a two-finger solute before dashing away from the place, Tails and Knuckles following right behind him.
The team just stared in the direction the three humanoid animals headed in for a few moments before Wasabi spoke up. "What just happened here?"
"What appeared to be a blue hedgehog, an orange fox with two tails and a red echidna showed up and helped us fight a fat man with a long mustache?" Honey asked with a nervous smile and a shrug.
"I think you summed it up, Honey." Fred said as he took his mask off of his head.
Go-Go was the only one who didn't share her opinion on the matter, though Sonic's words regarding her speed, not to mention his far superior skills, ate up her mind.
"I think we can call this a day, guys." Hiro said as he looked at the emerald in his hand. "I have some checking to do with this emerald…"
I'm not going to lie, Sonic and Go-Go interacting was what got me sold on the idea of writing this. I mean both are the speed demons in their respective groups and are also the cool characters; this just wrote itself. And before anyone asks me this dreaded question, NO! I'm not shipping them! That's disgusting! I'm going more towards a friendly rivalry...
So now the heroes have actually met. They may not have teamed up, but let's just say we are only starting this story. We have a lot more to go.
Thanks for reading and please leave a review if you have something to say!
