Okay, a bit of a shorter chapter today. Nothing else to say, just hope you will enjoy what I do have for you.
After the plans for the next day were set, the rest of the Big Hero 6 team left to their own homes. Hiro has agreed for Sonic and his friends to sleep in the garage, on the one condition that they won't make themselves known to the costumers at the café and of course, to his aunt.
"Sure. We won't reveal ourselves to anyone, unless things get rough." Sonic reassured the teen with the black hair, who nodded at him with a trusting smile.
Hiro then took Baymax's charger and headed to the back entrance of the "Lucky Cat Café", his aunt's business and his home ever since he could remember himself. Although being a secret initially, Hiro's aunt, Cass Hamada, was the only one to know of the true identities of Big Hero 6. The way she found out was a bit awkward, one would say, but it was more of an accident.
Never the less, Cass was proud of her nephew for his will to help people just like his older brother did. Baymax was the easiest sell for her, thanks to his huggable design and caring programming.
"Hey, Aunt Cass!" Hiro greeted once he entered the building. It was quit, hinting that the café was probably closed for the day; a few people less to hide Sonic and the others from.
"Hey, Hiro!" She called for him from upstairs. When the teen got up to where his aunt's voice came from, she made sure to engulf him in a hug. "How's my little college Super-Hero?" She said in an overly enthusiastic tone.
"Nothing out of the ordinary. Everything's okay." He lied on purpose. "College is nothing too complicated and there is no one making a mess on the streets. No one messes with Big Hero 6!" He said with pride.
"I hear that!" Cass cheered on before changing the subject. "Say, Sweetie? Can I get your opinion on something?"
"Eh… sure." Hiro answered before continuing with a question of his own. "About what?"
"One of the customers gave me this today…" She said before pulling a yellow gem from her pants' back pocket. To Hiro's shock, the gem was nothing more and nothing less than a Chaos Emerald. "Isn't it beautiful?" Cass asked him, still entranced by the glowing stone.
"Uh… YES!" Hiro improvised a response. He sure didn't expect for his aunt to find one of the remaining emeralds for him. "It is very… pretty…" He said before taking the emerald in his hand. "Listen, Aunt Cass. Do you remember the cable car crash we stopped a few days ago?" He asked.
"Yeah?" She answered, not sure where he was going with this.
"We found a gem similar to this one near where the cable car lost control. Can I take this to the lab in order to check if there is a connection?" He asked, even though he knew exactly what it was. He needed to inform Sonic that their search was now one emerald shorter.
"Sure. Everything in order to help the city out." She told him.
"Thanks." He said before giving her a hug. "Can you plug in Baymax's luggage? I will be back in a few minutes."
"Yeah, leave it to me. You run along to check your things." She answered with a smile before she took the charger from Hiro's hand as the boy ran back to the garage.
Hiro could have sworn that he broke a world record for running from the inside of the café to the garage. When he got there, he opened the door and rushed inside to see Sonic, Tails and Knuckles trying to arrange their sleeping methods.
"Guys! I have found another Chaos Emerald!" He exclaimed before pulling it from his jacket pocket and showing it to them.
"Where did you find it?" Knuckles was the first to ask.
"My aunt got it from a customer…" He said, only now realizing how wired the situation was. "Anyway, you are the experts. Is this really one of them?"
Sonic took one of the four emeralds they had hidden in the garage, and brought it near the one Hiro held in his hand. Both of them shined brightly, proving that the emerald Hiro got from his aunt was real. "Yes, it glows." Sonic stated. "We have five emeralds, only two left."
"Great!" Hiro said with a smile. "So, I'll leave you guys to sleep now." He told them before closing the door and heading back to the café.
Eggman and Yama were hard at work on their new robot army. Some of them were the familiar Badniks Eggman used often, while he also supported his more recent orange Egg-Pawns and newly made purple killing machines. Yama has also created a few robots of his own, to aid the doctor's robots in the next battle. Most of them were black and they supported various weapons for hands like chain saws, knives and various other sharp weapons.
"Ah! What an impressive army we have!" Yama exclaimed happily as he watched the hundredths of robots ready to take on whatever their masters seek to destroy.
"Indeed…" Eggman let out a sigh of happiness. "Now, for the big project…" He said before mentioning for Yama to look at the disabled Baymax, sitting at the corner of the room. "I have a mission for you Yama. I want you to take the robot army and ambush those pipsqueaks tomorrow."
"What, already?" He asked shocked. "Shouldn't we wait until this new robot is ready?"
"Ah! Here is where my genius side tells you the ambush is part of my plan to make this robot the most dangerous robot in the world!" Just as he said that, Orbot and Cubot arrived with what looked like a chip in their hands.
"What is this?" Yama asked.
"This robot, like we found out, is functioning based on what the programming chips inside of it tell it to do. Tomorrow, during the ambush, you will be given a camera which will record the moves of Sonic, his friends, and the entire of Big Hero 6." Eggman explained.
"I'll then write them into this chip and once I'll put it inside of it, this robot will have all of their abilities! With all of these powers inside of one robot, they won't be able to match it, and if we get the rest of the Chaos Emeralds to power it up, it could become the most powerful robot ever created!"
"This is pretty genius of you, Eggman." Yama admitted with an evil smirk on his face.
"Oh, you are too kind." The doctor replied.
"But wait, what about the emeralds that these rudents have with them?" Yama asked.
"Just leave the rest of the emeralds, either the ones they have or don't have, to me..."
Okay, next time we are having a battle scene! This is just a bit more of set up before we really start to rock and roll. Also, I kind of wanted Cass to have SOME part in helping the heroes and a customer giving her one of the emeralds seemed fitting for her character. I mean, she is so hyper and stuff I can totally see her accepting a random gem from a random person...
Also, in the credits for the movie, it's hinted that Cass is aware of Baymax and may even know about Big Hero 6 so I went with that. Also, Shamelessly plugging "Unexpected Reunion" again, as it explains how Cass found out about Baymax in my own cannon.
Hope you enjoyed with the bit I had for you today. See you next time!
