Chapter 1 – Full Moon
Running. I'm running as fast as I can through the forest the trees making grate obstacles to keep my energy levels down. On a day like today I need to use up my energy I don't want to be kept back because I've punched some idiot. Today is the first day I'm going to phase and I'm excited about it. Yeah it will hurt like hell and I'll probably ache tomorrow I get to see my parents once again. I'd also like to see what colour my new fur is going to be, I hope that it is a white and grey one.
As I made it to school I slowed down, I've got to keep at a human pace now. Ugh so useless. I mean yeah I love being a human but there are certain things that suck about having to blend in. My energy levels on a full moon have always been really high and quite often I end up getting into trouble for punching the classic offenders, Jesse Zeklos and Natasha Ozera, they have always made fun of me but when my parents supposedly 'committed suicide' they non-stop teased me. Just because they want a reaction. Christian Ozera is okay because he is my friend and my best friend is going out with him which is just uncomfortable when she wants to talk about boys. Talking of Lissa I was snapped out of my thoughts by her. "Hey Rose do you want to have a sleepover tonight, it's Friday so we can stay up late doing the girly things we used to do when we were thirteen." Lissa almost yelled. Oh shit. The one day I can't go over to Lissa's house she wants me to go. Hmmm how I have to think up an excuse. So I told her "sorry liss I can't, not tonight I was planning on going home early because I'm so tired. But Maybe next Friday?" I looked at her hoping that she would buy it. Apparently I was quite good at lying. Though it does make me sad that my best friend can't tell when I'm lying. I suppose considering the massive secret I've been keeping from her.
_ I should've never believed that Lissa listened to me and believed me. There was a lot of trouble today which I was hoping to get out of. First off Jesse decided that today would be the perfect day to act like a Dick and call me a slut, slag, whore, attention seeker and so on. He told me that the reason why my parents died was because I was a disappointment to them. I couldn't control my anger at that and started punching and kicking him. I was just about to go in for another blow when the devil herself came and dragged me away by my hair. I had decided that I would be in too much trouble if I attacked her as well so I decided that the best thing to do was to wait until she let go and run.
The plan worked. As soon as she let go I bolted to headmistress Kriova's office and told her happened. I was honest about the Jesse thing because I knew that lying would get me into even more trouble and I didn't need that. I was told that I would be put in seclusion next Thursday for reacting to Jesse but she still had to listen to Tasha and Jesse's sides to the story. I understood that and let her get on with it.
When I was called into Kirova's office again Tasha was there looking smug. Apparently I had punched and kicked both Jesse and her and she grabbed my hair as a way to get me away from Jesse and that I was being so violent, she thought she was going to die. "Headmistress may I speak to you without Natasha in the room?" I asked. I hadn't told her exactly what was said. "yes of course Rose." She told me then turned to Tasha "Can you leave the room please Natasha." With that Tasha stood and left. Once she was out of the office I turned to Kirova "Headmistress Tasha pulled me by my hair with suck force she actually ripped some of my hair out. I was minding my own business and Jesse came out of nowhere calling me a slut and saying my parents couldn't live with the guilt of bringing me into this world." I said and she looked me in the eye "Are you saying that these two people just randomly came up to you and started verbally abusing you." I nodded . "very well then you may leave." I got up and left.
Outside the office door Lissa was stood there with an unimpressed look on her face and suddenly burst out with anger. "You Rosemarie are nothing but a liar. You lied about what happened just then and you lied to me about not having the energy to do anything after school." Then she started crying and I pulled her into a hug. "Do you have any idea what it's like having a best friend that lies to you. Rose I'm worried about you, you've been so distant since your parents died and I just want to know. I understand what you're going through remember I lost my big brother and so I know what it's like just talk to me rose." By this time silent tears started streaming down my face. "Lissa how about we have that sleepover tomorrow and I'll tell you everything?" asked hopefully that would make life a bit better. "Everything?" she asked. I nodded my head. I'm only going to miss out the part that says I'm a werewolf. I thought sadly.
_ It was almost sunset and I was starting to make my way to the forest. To where my mum and dad always showed me to go to transform. I was starting to get really worried that something will go wrong and that I won't phase back again. I started to run quicker when I heard noise. It's better to get to the shelter that protects us when we transform early rather than late.
As I approached the shelter I slowed down to catch my breath. It would be approximately two minutes before I phase and god I'm so scared that I am shaking with fear. 1 minuet and thirty seconds… my body is starting to tingle. 1 minuet my teeth are starting to sharpen. Thirty seconds I start growling. The actual phase. My body is stretching this way and that. It was stretching for what felt like hours but in reality it was seconds. That was when I hear a howl. This is it I'm actually a wolf. I thought to myself. I looked back to see that my fur is a magnificent white and grey and I am in fact a wolf. I started doing the only thing that felt right. Running.
I was so caught up in feeling free I hadn't noticed that another wolf had come to join me. This wolf had the most amazing black fur and brown eyes anyone could imagine. It was huge and it was strong. Judging by it's appearance I would say it's male. Hello beautiful what's your name? His voice only confirmed my suspicions. My names rose what's yours? I replied.
