Managers and Meatballs

It's summertime! That means updates!

Remember, if you don't agree with Austin and another girl, then don't come read this story and post negative comments.

Thank you! Here's the chapter!

Kylie's Point of View

I'm currently sitting on the counter of Sonic Boom, waiting for Trish to come so we can start this Team Austin meeting. I'm the editor and "problem solver" as Dez puts it.

We all make a pretty good team. Now if only Trish was here, that'd be ten times better.

Ally began to gavel. "All right, it's time for our weekly Team Austin meeting. Trish is late, as usual. So, I'll just call this meeting to order." She began to gavel again, causing Austin, Dez, and I to watch her. "Man, I love gaveling."

I rolled my eyes. What's the part of starting this meeting if she'll just have to explain everything to Trish all over again.

I'm okay with waiting. I don't have anything to do today.

Just then, Trish walks in. She drags along a tennis racket and a tennis machine.

"Guess who got a job at 'It's a Racket'?" She announced doing her signature pose that she makes every time she gets a new job.

So you could say that we see this pose frequently.

"A tennis store?" I began at the same time Dez said, "tennis store?"

I let him continue, keeping my mouth shut.

"Why would the hire you? You stink at Tennis."

"You're right." Trish agreed. "But I don't stink at this." She started up the tennis machine which began shooting out tennis balls at the ginger.

"Hey!" Austin said interfering. "Don't do that to my friend. Without doing it to me too!" Austin held his arms out so the tennis balls would hit him too. The four of us began laughing at Austin and Dez's childish antics.

I was about to hop off the counter to join but Ally interrupts our fun.

"Guys. Come on!" She started gaveling again. "Turn that off!"

"Ally." Austin reasoned. She stopped gaveling, smiling sheepishly.

"Oh, sorry." She apologized. "All right, first order of business. Progress report, I just finished a great new song. Austin?"

"I came up with some sweet new dance moves." He began to show the moves he showed me last night.

"Love it." Ally cheered. "Dez, what's up with our next video?"

"I don't want to give too much away, but I'm gonna need a helicopter, a giraffe, and a red pen!"

"A giraffe?" I asked confused. What kind of a video is he thinking about?

"No, no, and uh, here." Ally handed Dez a red pen she found on the counter. "Kylie, anything new?"

"As always I don't have anything to share." I explained. "I'm not talented."

"You're talented with cooking!" Austin smiled. I nodded, smiling back.

"I agree." Ally said, turning her attention towards Trish. "Trish, manager report. Whatcha got?"

"Well," Trish dragged on, her voice getting higher. And she's got nothing. "You know, I got some music stuff in the works. And some video stuff and a bunch of other stuff too."

I shook my head. It's obvious that she's got nothing.

"Wow." Dez said. "That's a lot of stuff."

I shook my head once again. "In other words, you've got nothing."

Ignoring me, Trish turns to Austin. The two of them begin talking about the Miami Jam-athon, and how he's not on the list, yet.

This petite women with a grey suit walks in, acting like she owns the place.

"Austin Moon, just the man I'm looking for." She took off her jacket before throwing it behind her. "I saw your last webcast online and I think you're going to be a star." I rolled my eyes, she can't just come in here and say that Austin is going to be a star. She barely knows him. All she knows about him is what he shows his fans.

And he's not that big yet. So not a lot is out about him.

"Awesome!" He exclaimed. He tilted his head to the side like a dog. "Who are you?"

"Demonica Dixon." She introduced herself. "I manage seven of the top ten acts on the pop charts." Her Bluetooth rings. "Hello. Rihanna, great." She hung up the bluetooth. "Make that 8, how would you like to be nine?"

She can't just come in here and say that! Who does she think she is?

"I kinda like being 15 'cause when I was nine I had the chicken pox."

I let out a low chuckle. I remember that.

"Austin." I warned, shaking my head. That's not what she meant at all.

"What?"

"I mean I want to represent you." Demonica corrected, clearing Austin's confusion.

Trish now steps up. "Whoa, whoa. I'm Austin's manager. Slow your roll lady."

"Yeah, please obey the speed limit on your roll, lady." Demonica gives Ally an unapproved look at her attempt to be cool. "Miss. Dixon. We're happy with our friend, Trish."

"Oh, how sweet. You're represented by your friend. But it's called show business, not show friendness. Oh write that down!"

"Is friendness two words or?" Dez asked with a red pen.

"Dude." I snapped.

"Not you Dez." Trish finished. Dez wiped his hand on his pants before putting the pen away.

"The point is if I'm Austin's manager, he'll be one of the biggest stars on Earth." She snaps her fingers. "Visual aid." Her assistant pulls out a globe and spins it.

Where on Earth did he get that globe? He has about as much random stuff with him as Dez's backpack.

"Wow. That would make me so happy." This time, Austin snaps his fingers. "Visual aid." He points to his face that is now wearing a huge smile.

I can't help but smile at his smile.

"Austin, ignore her." Trish tried. "She's clearly all talk. If she was king of a real manager, she'd be wooing you over a fancy gourmet lunch."

"Oh, you mean like this?" Demonica snapped her fingers. "Lunch!"

Her assistant pulls a table of food into the building.

"What, no music?" Trish snapped feeling irritated.

Demonica snapped again. "Music!" As an orchestra appears, playing music.

We all eat the lobster dinner Demonica brought in for us. Well except for Trish.

"Hate to break it to you, Demonica, but you can't be having lunch in here. Ally has a strict no eating in the store policy. Right, Ally?"

"Hmm?" Ally questioned lifting her head during the middle of eating her lobster tail.

Yeah, that's some strict policy.

Austin wiped his mouth with a napkin before speaking. "Thanks, Demonica. This is the best meal I've ever had."

"Hey!" I exclaimed, mocking being defended. "I thought I made the best mean you've ever had. Remember the mac'n cheese I made you?"

He laughed. "Yeah, that was pretty good."

"I remember that too." Dez said. "Mine's a little tough." He started picking at his food.

"You're supposed to take the meat out of the shell."

"Oh." He took the meat out of the shell before biting just the shell. "Much better."

I dropped my lobster. "I lost my appetite."

"So, Austin. What do you say? Are you ready to sign with Team Demonica?"

"I have Team Austin." Austin began. "Ally writes the songs, Dez directs the videos, Kylie supports us, and Trish manages us."

"Yeah, nice try." Trish sassed. "But it takes a lot more than a fancy lunch and some background music to impress Austin."

"Check it out!" Austin exclaimed. "They turned my leftovers into a swan!"

"Whoa, cool." I said walking over to him.

"Austin, let me make this easier for you. What's your wildest dream?"

Austin shrugged. "That's easy. I'm being chased through a candy cane forest by a Viking, my grandma, and a peanut vendor. They're throwing cantaloupes at me. Then it get's weird. They-"

"Career." Ally interrupted. "I think she meant your wildest career dream." She went back to eating her lunch.

How can she still be eating that?

"Oh. Well ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted to perform in Times Square on New Year's Eve. If you perform there, it means you've totally made it."

Austin has always had that dream that both of our parents thought was crazy. They never thought Austin would get discovered, yet alone make it to Times Square.

"And if you let me manage you, I can make that happen."

"You really think you can buy Austin with a crazy promise and some lobster? Can you believe this lady, Ally?" Trish fired back.

"Hmm?" Ally asked, not stopping from her eating.

"Think about it, Austin. I can change your life." She snapped once again. That's really getting irritating. "Dramatic exit!" Her assistants pick her up, carrying her out the door.

"Something is wrong with this cupcake." Dez announced.

"You have to take the paper off." Trish explained.

"Oh." He took the paper off, taking a big bite out of the paper. "Mmm, no, that's not it."

I shook my head. You aren't supposed to eat the paper.

A little while later, me and Trish entered the practice room in hopes to find Austin and Ally.

And we did, they were sitting across from each other.

"Hey guys." Trish announced, catching their attention. "We've been thinking about Demonica Dixon. That finger snapping, blue-tooth wearing, puppy hating thief."

"How do you know she hates puppies?" Ally asked.

"She doesn't." I answered.

"I just needed a third thing." Trish explained. "Anyway, she made me realize I needed to step up my game. So, I did. I booked you at the Miama Jam-A-Thon."

Austin and Ally both stood from their seats. "That's awesome! I never doubted you."

"Actually, I believe that you-" I began to protest before Austin covered my mouth with his hand. I licked his hand making him retreat.

I overheard him tell Ally that he may be considering switching managers. If he does that, it will crush Trish. I actually can't believe he even thought about that.

Trish shot the two of us a strange look. "And to celebrate, we're going to have a fancy lunch with some background music." She snapped her fingers, as Dez appeared in the room carrying a box of pizza and a tambourine.

"Thanks Trish." Austin thanked putting his right arm around my shoulder.

"No, not him. That's my guy." She pointed to a man in a suit holding a violin and a tray of food. "I don't know what he's doing."

We all diverted our attentions to Dez, who began singing and dancing to a song about pizza.

"Hi." Trish said to the man working backstage as we reached the Jam-A-Thon. "We're here to check in for the Jam-A-Thon. My client, Austin Moon, is performing."

"He was supposed to perform at one." He glanced down at his watch. "It's four now."

"What?" Trish asked, confused. Basically, that's how everyone is feeling right now. "There must be a mistake. Can he still sing anyway?"

"Oh, of course!" The man exclaimed. "Just not here. Try the bathroom; it's got lovely acoustics." After his fake enthusiasm, he left. Leaving the five of us to dwell on Trish's mistake.

"I can't believe this!" Austin cried. "Trish, you said I was supposed to perform at four."

"Because you were. And I can prove it because I wrote it down on a napkin." She took out a napkin from her back pocket. "No. That's my homework assignment. I must have written it somewhere else."

"What's on your hand?" Ally asked pointing to Trish's left hand.

"Oh that's just my work schedule. I don't need that." She wiped her hand on her pant leg, ridding of her schedule.

"Of course you don't." I muttered. "You'll just need a new one tomorrow."

"Right?" Trish answered, obviously thrilled that I understood her.

"You wrote something on my back today." Trish lifted up the back of Dez's shirt revealing the word 'BOZO'. I covered my mouth to hold back a laugh.

"Oh that just says you're a bozo." Trish explained as if it was nothing.

Dez nodded. "Oh."

In walked Demonica, followed by her assistants. "Well, if it isn't Team Austin." She threw her jacket behind her shoulder to the assistants. "I thought you were supposed to go on three hours ago."

"Trish mixed up the time so we were late. Now, I can't perform." Austin explained.

"I didn't mix anything up." Trish defended.

"These things wouldn't happen if I were your manager. Maybe you're taking manager a little bit too lightly, Trish." Demonica said with a smirk printed across her face.

"That's ridiculous!" Trish exclaimed. "Right Austin?"

"Well, sometimes you are a little late to our Team Austin meetings."

"That's not true! I showed up 30 minutes early for our meeting on Wednesday."

"We had a meeting on Wednesday?" I asked thinking I missed one. I don't remember Ally ever scheduling them on Wednesdays, but she could've changed it and I just didn't get the message.

"No." Austin answered me. "The meeting was Tuesday."

I breathed a sigh of relief. I'm off the hook. But Trish is not, uh.

"Ally, back me up here?"

"Trish just has her own style. She is not that unorganized."

"What is that on your elbow?" Demonica said looking at Ally's elbow.

"Oh that's just Trish's grocery list. Apparently she needs milk, eggs, and, uh, paper." Ally read off her elbow.

"Austin, do you think it's time to sign with someone who will take your career more seriously?"

"I guess." Austin stuttered.

"Austin? What're you-" I was interrupted by the she-devil herself.

"Great! Let's shake on it. Shake!" An assistant comes up and shakes Austin's outstretched hand before they walk away.

Trish glares at Austin before exiting the room as well.

"Do you think she's mad?" He asked.

I'm about to answer his stupid question but Trish's frustrated scream answers it perfectly fine.

I walked into Sonic Boom following Demonica and her assistants.

"Client stealer." Trish growled.

"I'd insult you back, but you have meatballs on your head. Do I need to?" That was insulting enough. Trish walked out of the store angrily. Ally caught my eye and smiled.

"Great! We're all here. And now we can start the Team Austin meeting."

"Hmm, chair!" Demonica snapped as an assistant got down on all fours, posing as a chair.

Dez chuckled from beside me. "She thinks that guy's a chair."

I laughed quietly at his statement. He can always say something wrong and have it still be funny with the situation.

"I still feel bad for Trish. At least there's always one thing that makes me happy." Ally picked up the gavel.

"Oh, sweetie. Let me handle that. Gavel!" Her standing assistant gavels instead of Ally. "Man, I love gaveling."

"You weren't even the one gaveling!" Demonica shot me a dirty look. "Sorry."

"Gaveling's my thing!" Ally whined, getting rid of the tense and awkward atmosphere my statement just created.

"First order of business: progress report. Ally?" Demonica began ignoring Ally's whining.

"Ooh, I have a great new song." She holds out the demo. Demonica takes it, throwing it behind her.

"Oh great. I'll listen to that later. Kylie?"

"Um, I've got nothing."

"Great. Sounds cool. Dez?" Wow, did you hear at all what I just said?

"I've got a cool video idea. It's inspired by my favorite director ever. Spike Stevens. He's the best video director in the business."

"That gives me a great idea!" She calls up Spike Stevens on her Bluetooth, getting him to come direct Austin's next video. Demonica and her assistants leave snapping their fingers in rhythm.

"No way!" Austin announced. "Spike Stevens in going to direct my next video!"

"That's so awesome!" Austin, Dez, and I all begin to do a happy dance as Dez chants 'happy dance'.

"Wait a minute." Me and Austin stop dancing. "I think you just talked yourself out of the job."

"Aww. Sad dance." Dez began dancing sadly, instead of happily.

Looks like it's just down to Ally and I, on the original Team Austin. You know, the one before Demonica showed up and ruined everything.

It turned out that when Demonica hired Spike, he was going to do all the editing too. Bumping me and Dez out of Team Austin.

Ally got bumped out during lunch that day, when Demonica didn't like her song.

Dez and I are currently standing in front of Statue Man with a camera, directing his first video.

"You're not gonna believe what I found in the trash! The MP3 player I have Demonica. She never even listened to my song!" Ally announced. My eyes widened.

Seriously?

"I'm starting to think she's kind of a bad person." Dez said weerily.

"No way?" I stated sarcastically.

Trish stalked into Sonic Boom, pulling Demonica's red headed assistant by his shirt. "Guys, I've been made a fool of."

"Are you talking about the meatball hat?" I asked leaning on the counter.

"It's okay. We've gotten used to it." Ally agreed.

"No, I'm talking about Demonica! She was behind the Jam-A-Thon mix up! She had her assistant pose as me on the phone!" The assistant poses a identical voice as Trish, pretending to talk on the phone.

"See?" Trish pushed on.

"That doesn't sound anything like you." Dez said crossing his arms over his chest.

Austin walked in before any of us could make some type of remark to Dez's sentence.

"Guys, I made a huge mistake! I shouldn't have let Demonica fire you."

"What happened?" Ally asked. "What made you change your mind?"

"I had the worst nightmare! I was playing New Year's Eve without you guys! And I was out of peanuts. But mostly the New Year's Eve thing."

I hugged him, glad that he was back.

"Well I'm glad you're back. You're never going to believe what we found out about Demonica. She threw away my song without even listening to it."

Now, Austin has his arm around my shoulder while I have my arm around his waist, as we listen to the others tell what we found out about Demonica.

"And she sabotaged your Jam-A-Thon gig to make me look bad."

"And she broke the keyboard on the wall and put it back up there to make it look like nothing happened to it." Austin and I gave Dez a strange look.

"Dez?" Ally added in, an accusing tone to her voice.

"Here it comes." I cheered.

"Fine, I broke it! But she's still a very bad person." Dez confessed causing me to laugh.

"Well I have a way to show Demonica that I don't need her anymore." Austin smiled.

"And I have a way to show Demonica that she messed with the wrong people." Trish said, revenge etching every word.

"Team Austin is back!" Ally exclaimed.

"Yeah, I don't want to be famous without my friends." Austin confessed.

"Thanks Austin. We missed you." Ally joins in on our hug.

"Welcome back, buddy!" Dez joined in.

"I guess we're hugging." Trish came over and joined our hug. The assistant came too.

"Hug over." Austin announced as we all pulled away.

"From the moment I laid eyes on Austin Moon, I knew that, with my guidance, he would become a superstar. Together, we are going to kick butt. Visual aid!" Her assistant came up and Demonica kicked him in the butt. "And now to say a few words, my newest client—Austin Moon." The audience clapped as he went on stage.

"It's always been my dream to perform in Times Square, but I've realized that if you're living the dreams without your friends, it's more like a nightmare."

"What are you talking about?" Demonica hissed.

"I have Team Austin. And this is what we can do without you." He snapped his fingers. "Video."

The Better Together music video plays. Everyone loving it except for Demonica. Big surprise there.

"That song was written by my partner Ally. The video was shot by my best friend Dez. My other best friend Kylie told us that it looked good. And the whole thing was put together by my manager Trish. Come up here guys!"

"I'm good right here." Ally said. Dez and I pushed her up on stage, followed by Trish.

"Your manager Trish? I'm your manager." Demonica defended.

"Not anymore. You're fired." Austin smirked.

"In your face, finger snapper." Trish sassed her.

"You're going to regret letting me go." Demonica tried convincing Austin to keep her. Ha, nice try.

"And you're going to regret wearing a nice outfit." Dez warned.

"Why?"

"Sweet, sweet revenge." Trish this time snapped her fingers. "Meatballs." The five of us took a couple of steps back as Demonica's assistants fire up the tennis ball machine that is loaded with meatballs, pelting her as we laugh.

The press got pictures of that.

I'm eating a burger, watching Dez and Statue Guy have a staring contest as Dez repeatedly tries to get him to blink.

Finally he gives up, blinking.

"Man, you're good."

Trish arrived sitting down. "Sorry I was late. I was doing manager stuff for Austin. It won't ever happen again."

"Oh I've heard that before." Statue Guy snapped. My burger dropped from my hands, leaving my mouth hanging wide open. "Trish, you're fired. Come on kids. Let's go." Statue Guy leaves, being followed by two statue children.

Longer chapter but I couldn't just skip out a lot of information. Plus you guys deserve it for me being MIA lately.

How was it?

You likey?

What did you guys think of TB2 if you saw it?

I don't even know where to begin. I loved it but it made me cry, laugh, and a little angry!
