A/N It's been a while huh? I'd like to apologize for the long wait. Long story short, I got burned out and killed my drive to write during that last bout of pushing chapters, which resulted in me overlooking several small details that would have added more to the story. Life also decided that I am undeserving of free time, so work went by very slowly and even when this chapter was done I held on to it because I wasn't sure how long before I would post an update that said, this is a completed chapter that's been on my hard drive for nearly a year. I decided that no matter what it may be good to throw it out there. This chapter isn't quite as large as I was gunning for (7000+ words when I was gunning for 10k) but I hope you guys enjoy it.
Twelve hours after Sakura's kidnapping...
Naruto had returned to the PoS immediately after the incident on Omega and was currently sitting at the main console looking at a map of the galaxy. Sakura being kidnapped had him a bit irked. He was in a dilemma, how to rescue her? He was alone and Shepard was on the trail of new recruits who were extremely elusive, he couldn't ask him for a hand. Aria would be a wildcard, he didn't want to enlist her aid if he could help it. After several minutes of deep thought, his attention was drawn to the monitor that was connected to the feed in Morinth's Room. He watched the asari for a few minutes, as she flipped through a few vids, the only thing she really has access to.
'Hmmm I think she'll be a big help.' Naruto thought as he brought his attention back to the galaxy map. 'Sakura's signal has been there for some time.' Zooming into the system, Naruto wasn't too pleased to see it was deep in the Terminus Systems. Then he remembered the stealth system from his original ship. He recalled Sakura tinkering with it from time to time. 'Knowing Sakura that thing is at least partly operable.' He thought to himself while opening the ship maintenance bay console and ordered the system to install the stealth system into the mining frigate.
One hour later...
The stealth system was successfully installed into the venture mining frigate. Now Naruto tested the stealth and was please to see the frigate vanish before his eyes along with all traces of heat and other factors that could give away it's position. Now he left the stealth running as a trial run, wanting to make sure he knew how far to push the once inoperable module. 'using a mining frigate for a stealth operation...seems legit' Naruto thought jokingly. 'One shot and I'll be drifting in space.'
Leaving the stealth system running, Naruto left to pay Morinth a visit. Upon entering her room, he saw her laying down on the couch, watching a show about the lives of rich and famous people in the galaxy. Naruto had long since surmised that Morinth was fixated on these shows because she envied them. One may argue that everyone envies the rich and famous but Naruto, over his sessions with the Ardat Yakshi managed to pick up on the fact that Morinth for the most part had to live a very basic life, barely able to call anything her own. Her move to Omega was one of the few times she could have lived her life lavishly, surrounding herself with various works of art while being able to sate her addiction in the lawless Space station. Naruto had to admit, he felt a bit sorry for her. Life dealt her a cruel hand, and she was given a hard chose, be confined or be executed. There are quite a few things he learned about her and was honestly having second thoughts about simply handing her over to the asari. Morinth turned her attention to her captor with a bored expression. "Ahh my esteemed host decides to pay me a visit." She commented, turning her body to the side to fully face him, using her hand to hold her head up. "You seem a bit disheartened. I can help you relax." She said suggestively.
"How would you like a chance to leave this place for a bit?" Naruto asked, smirking when he say the asari quickly sat up With contained excitement before she frowned.
"I know you well enough to know that there are strings attached to something like this." She replied.
"You're right." Naruto confirmed. "There is a catch. Sakura has been kidnapped, and you're going to help me get her back."
At this, Morinth crossed her legs with a bemused look on her face. "Oh really? Why should I help you? And what's stopping me from killing you and going my own way you once we are outside this little station of yours?" She asked.
"For one thing, helping me increases your chances of me actually letting you go." Naruto started knowing full well that Morinth suspects he wouldn't just let her go. "And I thought you knew me enough by now to know that I wouldn't make a deal like this without some sort of safeguard."
"Let me guess you'll inject some sort of nanite that would track my every move." She said amusingly, not really meaning it. Then she saw Naruto smirk. "You didn't."
"I did. Tracking nanites were injected into you at one point." Naruto confirmed. "I would be a fool to underestimate you."
Morinth kept her cool, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise. "Very well, I'll assist you in getting your little friend back. But I want something in return."
"What is it?" Naruto asked.
"I'm assuming we'll be fighting to some degree." Morinth began. "That means we'll have to kill."
"I can see where this is going." Naruto commented.
"I want to meld with a few of our would be killers."
"I figured as much." Naruto said. "Fine. You can meld with as many hostiles as we can afford." He agreed, causing a smirk to form on Morinth face. "I'm surprised, I thought you only did this after prolonged time with your targets."
"I've gone for some time without a coupling. I'm getting desperate." The asari admitted. "The prospect of having as much prey as I want makes me very happy."
"You won't have as much as you want." Naruto clarified, causing Morinth to frown a little. "It's just the two of us, and I have no intention of going in guns blazing. We'll need to use tact and because of that you will most likely have very little opportunities for melding."
"That will be fine."
"Good, I still need to make some preps. I'll contact you when I'm ready." Naruto said as he left.
He stared to make is way to the assembly array. 'Now is a good a time as any to put the new gear to the test.' Naruto thought as the door to an armory opened. Within, several types of armor were standing along the far side wall, with several tables in the center of the room that held several guns and gadgets. Naruto stood in front of the armor and inspected it. Lightly tapping the visorless helmet Naruto couldn't help but be shake his head at the total lack of aesthetics, but then again, it would be understandable considering the ones who use them could and would die repeatedly, and said armor would disintegrate upon the death of its occupant. Naruto walked to a nearby table and picked up several devices and started installing them onto the armor. 'With these modules this armor should be at least on par with the gear here.' He thought. Now with the modules installed Naruto disassembled the armor off it's rack and picked up an avenger assault rifle and a heavy pistol for himself, and carried an SMG and another heavy pistol for Morinth to use.
He went to the ship hanger and enter the mining frigate. He got to the core of the ship, a small room where a large pod was positioned. It was the latest in pod designs that supposedly, out performs his personal design. It was something that poked at his ego a little bit, but it was to be expected, he was frozen for a long time, it was only natural for the tech to catch up. Placing his gear down in a corner of the room, he striped down naked and entered the pod, knowing what was to come. Upon entering, the pod closed, blocking all light and began to fill with liquid. Naruto had to fight the urge to hold his breath, he knew that the liquid was a nutrient rich cocktail that kept his body nourished, but even after years being submerged in the stuff, you never quite get used to it. Moments after the pod filled up, Naruto's vision, returned, this time we was seeing the outside of the ship. Now connected to the ship, he was able to access the main controls to the POS remotely. He called for Morinth, while making sure there was only one way for her to follow by locking various doors, he didn't need her figuring out the layout of the place. When she was strapped into the ship, they were off.
6 Hours later...
Naruto's ship had entered the system where Sakura's signal originated with the cloaking system engaged and scanned to get an exact fix on her position. It took no longer than 10 minutes to find the place. It was on a green planet capable of sustaining human life, however it was extremely hostile so no one bothered to colonize it. According to the data about the planet, every expedition sent there since it's discovery were never heard from again. Eventually the planets reputation made so that no one would have a reason to even go there. It was a perfect place to have a hide out if you had the manpower and resources to pull it off. Assuming Aria was right, and it was in fact the shadow broker, then it was entirely possible for him to establish a base here.
Said base came into view. It was moderate in size, not so large to attract attention, but not so small to be unable to repel attacks by the hostile animals in the area. Thresher maws were rather common on this planet among other things. The mining frigate landed in a nearby clearing, making sure to leave the cloak on, Naruto exited the pod started putting on his armor After putting on the helmet, he felt it connect to the ports on the back of his head. Immediately a heads up display came to life, showing various info such as shield and armor integrity, along with a sensor to detect enemy signatures. Now walking over to the container, He picked up a nova blade. It was roughly 7 inches long and made of a dark material, with a handle that had a trigger. This wasn't a typical blade it had heated plasma at the edge of the blade formed by a thermic igniter and linear gravity condenser. It can effectively burn through anything with ease, it bypasses shields and goes right through armor. Holding the trigger, Naruto watched as the edge of the blade glowed deep blue. This was currently the only piece of weaponry from his home he could carry. He had yet to build nanite hives, which would allow him to stock back up on ammo on the field so continuing to rely on the current galaxy's weapons is the most valid choice. Now suited up, he and Morinth departed and stealthily made their way to the base.
"How are we going to do this?" Morinth asked.
"We're going to do a little recon first." Naruto explained as the base came into view though all the thick vegetation. "Stay here and keep an eye out." He ordered. "I'm going to see what's up with this base." He said, climbing a massive tree to get a good vantage point, a feat made easy due to his drop suit. Upon seeing the base Naruto frowned, there didn't seem to be much he could make out. There was a tall wall that stood around 25 feet in height with only one way in or out. Guard towers with heavy machine guns were positioned strategically along the wall, with 2 tall towers with what appeared to be heavy cannons, obviously there for the larger creatures tat may attack. The base spoke volumes about the shadow broker and hints at it's value. With no expense spared in it's building, it would stand to reason that the base was full of Intel that could prove useful. 'If only I had the numbers to just capture the damn place.' Naruto thought. 'Maybe if we're lucky we can get a souvenir or two.'
Over an hour had past since Naruto began watching the base. Morinth had killed a few small predators that was looking for an easy meal. Having been attacked repeatedly, her senses were now on high alert, more than one of those insectiod creatures got a little to close to making her their meal than she'd like. Which explained her now haggard look with a few scratches and tears in her outfit. Soon she began to hear voices in the distance, heading her way. Quickly she hid near a bush, with the intention of letting them pass. Soon, two armored men could be seen making their way to the base, as they got closer, she could hear their conversation in more detail.
"I'm surprised these high frequency repellers actually keep those little fuckers at bay." One of the men said.
"From what I hear, it's a lot more to it than a simple high frequency, but yeah it's pretty convenient." The second man said.
"Our employer is pretty paranoid though. To develop these repellers just so he can have patrols of the base." He finished as he leaned on to a large tree and took off his helmet. Revealing a man with black hair and brown eyes.
"I hear ya. I mean come on, who's crazy enough to actually bother coming here?"
"But I suppose we shouldn't be bitching so much considering this allows us to earn a little extra on the side." The second man said slyly. "You really showed you know how to think on your feet with that last haul Jarmak." The second man said, lighting a cigarette.
"Heh that last haul was great. To think no one noticed when a crate or 2 of helix and red sand goes missing every month." The now named Jarmak said. "I think we can really retire early with hauls like those John."
"That is just the beginning. I've been noticing a few other things we can cash in on, and we'll be getting a little extra help from a few others, only thanks to that idiot Lando letting himself get caught a week ago, we'll need to find ourselves a new smuggler." John said as he took a long drag from his cigarette.
"I heard about it. Just the nature of the business. It's a shame, he was damn good at what he did."
"No matter how good you are, the unexpected can easily fuck you over." John said as he threw the cigarette bud to the ground and put his helmet back on. "Let's get back to base, it's almost time to kick Soldono's ass at cards again." He said as he started to leave, Jarmak following close behind.
Morinth watched as the two men left, unaware that something was lurking closer to her. Morinth's blood froze when she heard the loud clicking sound of one of the indigenous predators. Quickly she turned around only to come face to face with the predator. It's "mouth" split open revealing several rows of sharp teeth and released a loud hiss, causing the normally cool and collected Morinth to scream out. Morinth quickly tried to back away, but didn't get far, the creature jumped on her and pinned her down with it's powerful claws. Just as it was about to go in for a killing bite, it's head exploded. Morinth turned to see the two humans from earlier. There was a brief pause between the parties before the men trained their guns on the asari.
" Who the hell are you?" The one known as Jarmak asked. "Don't move!" He ordered noticing the asari trying to get up.
This was an unexpected situation, Morinth certainly didn't plan on being caught, but years of being on the run taught her many things. Being resourceful and quick thinking being the most valuable things at her disposal. Laying on her back, she could look straight up the tree without causing any suspicion. She could see that Naruto had his gun trained on the soldiers below, probably heard the gunfire from the soldiers as they shot the creature that tried to eat her. Oddly, Naruto didn't open fire on them, instead slowly and carefully worked his way down. Morinth knew Naruto well enough to know that he wouldn't outright kill a valuable source of intel in this situation. She also knew that he knew that she knew how to worm her way out of these situations. It was obvious he was waiting to see if she could get some amount of intel from them before he had to interfere. In mere moments Morinth had crafted a decent story based around what she overheard from their conversation. "My name is Alana" She lied.
"What are you doing here?"
"My ship got shot down in orbit." She answered. "I've been trying to survive since."
"Do you expect us to be fall for that? Jarmak asked. "What would anyone be doing in this system of all places? I say you're some kind of law enforcement."
At this "Alana" scoffed. "Law enforcement in the terminus system." She began. "That's almost kinda funny. No if you must know, I'm a smuggler."
"Your story doesn't add up, there is nothing for smugglers here." Jarmak said, although John was intrigued, something that caught Morinth's attention.
"I was on the run dammit!" Alana said.
"From who?" Jarmak asked.
"Some low life with a grudge. Funny thing about the smuggling biz, sometimes you see a contract floating around the underworld that's very valuable." "Alana" began. "Naturally you won't be the only one interested in it. So when you happen to get it, some people don't take it laying down. I was ambushed in the Far Rim, barely able to get away since they took a shot at my engines. I managed to limp to this system thinking they wouldn't think of looking here…. I was wrong. It turns out the one who was after me was a rival, and she knows how I think, we've had plenty of run ins over the past 50 years." Alana frowned. My engines where pretty much trashed at that point, right above this planet. When they entered the system they found us immediately we knew the ship was finished so we abandoned ship. That bitch Lamora." Alana spat. "She opened fire on all the escape pods. I only managed to get away because my pod's nav system went haywire and sent it to the planet's surface. Everyone knows the rep this place has, there was no point in pursuing they knew that the chances of survival here was slim to none." After telling her tale there was a brief moment of silence before Alana spoke again. "They're dead." She said in retrained rage. "The crew I've worked with for 20 fucking years is dead! My own sisters included! Let me go I swear I'll make it up to you. But I absolutely can't die here! Lamora will pay for what she did!"
"Well then since you're offering, you may have a job for you." John said.
"You can't be serious!" Jarmak said. "I mean how do we even know if she's any good?"
"Get up." John ordered. "Alana" sat up from her position, all of the scrapes and cuts clearly visible that only added to her story. "How good are you at smuggling red sand, and helix ?" He asked.
"Those items were our bread and butter. My ship had a shielded cargo hold that made it impossible for scans to detect what's inside. I have a spear ship with the same shielding on standby."
"Shielding? Are you talking about quantum plate shielding?" John asked.
"Yes."
"You do realize that quantum plating is extremely expensive? Smugglers don't waste money on it."
"That's what sets the good smugglers from the great ones." Alana said arrogantly. "I've been in the business for over a century. I've had plenty of time to amass enough to get a ship with quantum plating. The second one I burrowed from Lamora." she finished with a smirk.
"I haven't even heard of this Alana character in the smuggling biz." Jarmak interjected.
Morinth smirked inwardly, she was hoping for a comment along those lines. "And that is exactly why I'm that good." She said. "If the galaxy knows you're a smuggler, you're doing something wrong. Take the smuggler Lando that was caught a week or so ago." Morinth began, noting their interest increasing. "An up start smuggler that could have been really good at the biz if he wasn't such a hotshot." Morinth laughed at this point. "He and I actually had a minor spat, in the end, I told him he'll soon end up getting caught, not even a galactic cycle later he was in a nice cell in prison. He and many others take foolish risks that get the attention of the wrong people and before they know it, they can't travel outside the terminus systems. I on the other hand kept a low profile and because of that, I'm not on any law enforcement record. I've even smuggling goods into the Citadel, granted they were not anything as Hot as drugs, but they were items that would have raised a lot of questions if they were found like weapons and such. I can move freely in and out the Terminus systems unlike those other morons."
After a moment of silence, John spoke. "Alright we can use you." He began, taking off his helmet. "The name's John, and this other guy is Jarmak" He said pointing to his accomplice as he also too off his helmet, revealing the man inside to be of Asian origin with short black hair and a scar on his cheek.
"Only because John never steered me wrong I'm going to trust you." Jarmak said.
"Don't worry about him, he's alright after he warms up to you." John chuckled. "There is a place about a mile from here that we use as a drop off point for goods. We'll let you stay there until you can get off the planet." He said as he started walking. "Come on we'll show you the way."
Almost an hour later, they found themselves at an obscure cave. It was extremely easy to miss, it had what appeared to be thick vegetation growing at it's entrance. Jarmak opened his Omni-tool and waved in front of the cave, causing the "vegetation" to disappear, revealing that it was actually a hologram.
Upon entering the cave, John spoke. "This place has basic goods that should last for a while." He said pointing to cheaply built cabinets before pointing to a wall. "And behind that wall is a shower."
"A shower?" Alana asked. "And what's with all the goods?"
"The goods are something the last smuggler left after repeatedly getting grounded for long periods of time due to bad whether." John said. "The storms here are brutal and can last for weeks at times. Their ships may have food and water, but it's parked outside going to it, despite the short distance would mean death in a storm."
"As for the shower." John started. "The last guy had a few ladies in his crew that were pretty bitchy if they went for extended periods of time without a shower, so a shower was rigged up. You look like you've seen better days, the wild life really did a number you." He said eying the scrapes over the asari's body. "A shower would do you some good."
"A shower would do me some good." Alana admitted as she began pulling the zipper on her suit, revealing she was wearing nothing underneath.
"You're not very modest are you?" John asked.
"I'm just comfortable with my body." Alana answered. "Besides, I never saw any real reason for hiding one's natural state." She finished as she completely took off her suit and entered the shower. Now out of sight of the two men, she couldn't hold in her smirk any longer. 'no challenge at all.' She thought knowing full well that the seeds of lust was already planted and sprouting in both of her "partners." It was easy, taking advantage of what she overheard from them, along with what she knew about the criminal underworld and her little injuries she received while keeping watch for Naruto, she was able to spin a believable story, she was now in a position to feed on not one but two. She may not get to enjoy the thrill of the chase, but this was something that would more than satisfy her needs.
Meanwhile with Naruto….
Naruto had followed Morinth as she was led away and was now hidden high above a natural passage within the cave. There, he could see almost everything. The whole exchange between her and the two soldiers showed just how quick witted the ardat yakshi can be. He knew there was a good chance that she could talk her way out of the situation, but he never expected her to get them to open up in that manner. Not intervening is turning out to be the right choice. Those soldiers no doubt had useful intel in their Omni-tools, and he knew for certain that Morinth was going to meld with them, which opened up a new research opportunities for him. With the various monitoring nanites in her body, he would be able to monitor every detail of the melding process, this is something he was certain few if any ever did, after all, the practice would be unethical. Under normal circumstances he to wouldn't allow it, but the two soldiers were already as good as dead, may as well make their deaths useful. Looking down, Naruto saw that the two men were right below him, both talking about wanting to "have a good time" with Morinth, or "Alana" as they knew her. Naruto only shook his head, they had no clue just how badly they'd been played.
"The asari has quite the ass." John said.
"I'm thinking about getting to know her better." Jarmak said suggestively.
"Heh you dog."
"Hey a man's got needs." Jarmak defended. "How long have we been stuck on this damn planet? Nearly a freaking year. The handful of women here are all lab coats that would order you shot if you so much as look at them wrong."
"Relax, I was only messing with you. I plan to have a little fun with her myself, after all, she DID say she would do anything for us if we kept her alive." John said with a smirked as he heard the running water stop. "It sounds like she's done. I think I'll cash in on the favor right now." He finished as he started to make his way to the shower.
"Try not to burn her out." Jarmak said lecherously.
Morinth had only just stepped out of the shower and grabbed a towel to dry herself. Her back was turned away from the entrance of the makeshift shower. She smirked knowing full well that one of them was right there. "Do you make it a habit of intruding on others at times like this?" She asked, turning around to face John completely naked.
John couldn't help but look at the asari. Her blue eyes sparked with what he saw as lust, his eyes trailed down her slender neck and right to her pert breasts, being asari, she lacked the distinct nipples most humans had, instead, at the center of her breasts were small mounds that were a darker shade of blue from the rest of her body. Trailing further down, John's eyes settled on the place he planned to conquer, her "azure". It was hardly any different from a human's pussy only completely hairless. John smirked and walked up to the asari. "I thought you were comfortable with your body." He said grabbing a handful of Alana's ass, while pulling her closer, noticing no resistance to his advance. "Jarmak and I were thinking, a little extra work in exchange for letting you go may be in order." He said suggestively.
"Oh? And just what do you have in mind?" Alana asked huskily .
WITH NARUTO…..
Naruto watched on with great interest as Morinth played the foolish man. After a little banter, John removed his armor, exposing a raging hard on. He pushed Morinth on to a nearby wall, her back facing him, and entered her tight azure, causing both of them to grunt. John for the shear tightness and Morinth for the sudden, harsh yet pleasurable intrusion. John grunted with each thrust, holding Morinth by the shoulders, pushing her harder and harder on to the wall. Soon with surprising strength, Morinth pushed John back a little and turned around, confusing him.
"I prefer to look my partners in the eye while having fun." She said seductively, causing John to smirk.
He pushed her back on to the wall, lifted one of her legs and entered her once again. Morinth wrapped her arms around John's neck as he thrust into her with a wicked smile on her face. "You are about to experience a pleasure so few even dream about." She whispered in his ear. "Embrace eternity." With that, Morinth's eyes turned black, and John started to convulse before collapsing to the ground twitching.
Naruto had been able to watch the scene play out from his vantage point, he was so caught in between observing Morinth and the new data what was streaming into his Omni-tool that he failed to notice Jarmak moving in until he was about to turn around the wall blocking his view of Morinth's and John's "fun". Quickly fumbling to get his gun out, he set his sights on Jarmak but held fire. Upon turning the corner, Jarmak nearly jump out of his skin after seeing John on the ground, with Morinth standing over him. "What the fuck is this?" He asked in rage.
Morinth, hid her surprise and quickly tried to take control of the situation. "It's nothing." She said stalking closer to Jarmak with the intention of draw his attention away from his dying friend. "I just used an ancient form of melding on him." She lied.
"Bullshit! I've been with asari before, THAT-" He said pointing at John "Never happens with melding." He said taking a step back away from Morinth, cursing himself for leaving his weapon near the cave entrance.
"It's the truth. Melding is something that evolved to be used on other asari, but after we took to the stars and discovered other races, we found that or melding was too strong." Morinth said carefully approaching the merc in a way to get him into a corner. "It filled our partners with so much pleasure that it temporally takes them out for a few hours. While harmless the other races caused quite a ruckus which resulted in the asari using a dumbed down version of melding." She smirked inwardly as she finally managed to back him into a wall. She cupped his face with her hand. "I'm still not satisfied. Don't tell your friend when he wakes up, but he's not very good at sex. I trust you'll do better?"
At this the usual loud, untrusting, prideful Jarmak became quite meek. His mind full of fear and uncertainty, to him, what Alana said would make sense but it was still something he knew nothing about. At the same time, she was an asari and thus a biotic, who could no doubt easily kill him now that he was unarmed. Morinth came within an inch of his face. "You're a little over dressed." She stated before using her biotics to remove his armor. Jarmak found himself oddly turned on by the dominance being shown by the asari, he was already rock hard. Using her biotics again, she threw him to the ground with mild force and quickly straddled his hips. "I've run into your type countless times." She began. "You're so rambunctious under normal circumstances, but when in bed, especially with a dominate female you change completely." She said bringing her face close to Jarmak while lifting up her hips. "So cute." She said as she grabbed his member and placed at her entrance before taking it in. With a sultry moan she sat up, she hands on jack's chest as she rode him for all he was worth. She bucked her hips back and forth, looking jack straight in the eye before closing her eyes in pleasure. "Embrace eternity." With that, Jarmak was sent to convulsing. Morinth however continued to ride his still hardened member, as she was close to her climax. Soon, she planted herself hard on the dying soldier and gasped in ecstasy, her eyes closed, savoring her second fix. When she opened up her eyes she found Naruto standing a short distance away. With her eyes, half lidded from her climax she reached out at Naruto. "They felt such pleasure." She said with a slight shutter in her voice. "You can feel it to." She said, slowly getting up and approached Naruto until she was within arms reach. "You are a unique case. You are an immortal, even if you die you will simply wake back up in another body. You can-"
"Enough Morinth." Naruto interrupted. "We have a job to do." He finished as he took John's Omni-tool and downloaded any intel he had before doing the same to Jarmack. Looking through the data Naruto found helpful Intel which included Sakura's location within the facility. Turning back to Morinth who was now back in her suit he spoke. "We've got our intel. Lets get this over with."
They their way back to the base, making good use of the Intel that was taken, they entered the base via a hidden shaft that the two soldiers made use of to smuggle the contents of the facility out. Now that they were on the inside, they could begin their rescue.
"So how are we going to get your little friend hm?" Morinth asked, obviously still in a good mood from her melding.
" They have us far too outnumbered." Naruto began, opening up his Omni tool and showed a hologram of the lay out of the base. "The guards number at around 150 with over 100 researchers. To take on those odds would be foolish."
"Then you have a plan?"
"Yeah. This is a research facility that experiments on all sorts of things including living subjects." Naruto began. "In all likelihood they have various chemicals that can be used to knock out any volatile subjects. If we can find and secure the chemical, and place it in the ventilation we can take out most of the people in here."
"Where would we find the chems?" Morinth asked.
"They'll be in the lower levels." Naruto answered pointed to 3 rooms at a lower level. "These rooms are the most likely to hold what we're looking for. They have their own ventilation, that way in the event of a spill they won't effect the rest of the base. When we get them, we can take the service elevator up to the level that has the ventilation system."
"You make this sound easy."
"I promise it most likely won't be." Naruto said. "We'd best try to get this done as quickly and quietly as possible. We may not be undetected for too long when we leave this area." Naruto said heading to a nearby door with Morinth following close behind. "The lower level where the chems are stored isn't far from here. Let's get going."
Upon exiting, they found themselves yet another room before exiting into a hall. With the coast clear, they quickly moved to a flight of stairs, opting not to take the chance of using the elevator to get to their destenation. "There is a surprising lack of guards." Morinth commented.
"They're on the higher levels and most of the stuff here only get moved when needed." Naruto explained. "So hardly anyone would be down here. That's why those two soldiers were able to make off with various goods."
Reaching to the lowest level, they exited and ran right into two patrolling soldiers. Naruto quickly pulled out his nova blade and slashed at one of them, cutting right through his armor while Morinth slammed the other into the wall with her biotics. Moving quickly, they searched the rooms and found their objective. Naruto used the loading equipment to load up a dolly with a large container of gas. With the first part of the plan completed, they made their way to the service elevator and got in without a hitch. As they ascended, Naruto began checking his guns. "Make sure you're ready to go." Naruto said. "We're going to be in the upper levels so you can expect a bit of a fight." At this Morinth checked her gun, and ejected a thermal clip.
Not long after they were at the utility level. The door opened, revealing a large room that had several small containers. The room was dimly lit by red lights, and the sounds of various equipment could be heard. The room was also occupied with 5 guards who looked like they were there running checks on the systems. Naruto cursed under his breath as they were so quickly spotted. The guards opened fire, causing Naruto and Morinth to run forward to a container for cover. Naruto quickly sprayed a fan of bullets in an attempt to surpass them. "Morinth we need to get to that door across the room!" He shouted.
Without a word, Morinth used her biotics to form a force field around them and began pulling the dolly of the gas with her powers. Now relatively safe within the force field bubble, Naruto came out of cover and opened fire on the soldiers. Just as Naruto dispatched the last soldier, six more came out the door they were headed, no doubt alerted from the gunfire moments before. One of them had a rocket launcher and fired on them. The explosive projectile impacted on to Morinth' barrier, causing her to halt her advance. Naruto, seeing the strain the rocket could put on Morinth, opened fire on the soldier with the rocket launcher, taking down his shields before he went into cover.
"Dammit!" He cursed. "Morinth get behind cover and keep the barrier up! I'll pick them off." Naruto ordered.
Morinth released her biotic grip on the dolly and quickly went into cover while strengthening the barrier. Naruto continued to fight off the guards, who were aggressively moving closer and closer using cover. They knew that if they could get inside the barrier, they'll be able to inflict some damage. Naruto was able to keep them at bay, but the lone guard with the rocket launcher, who stayed back continued to be a problem. After 4 rockets fired, the barrier went down, by this time Naruto had managed to kill off 3 of them leaving only 3 more, this was a more manageable number. Together with Morinth, the remaining guards were killed. "They no doubt have the whole base on alert." Naruto said with urgency. "We need to get the gas pumping NOW."
Morinth began pulling the dolly again and they made their way to the ventilation controls as fast as they could. They reached the controls and put on protective helmets To ensure they didn't inhale any of the gas. After the gas was released into the system, Naruto put the ventilation into overdrive, to speed the spread of the gas. "Now lets get to Sakura."
It took them only a few minutes to reach the area where Sakura was held, passing several knocked out scientists and guards along the way. Upon entering the room Sakura was held, they saw her surrounded by several machines. It looked like they didn't get around to tinkering with her just yet, or if they did, their attempts to get past her security protocols failed. Naruto quickly inspected her and found her normally soft "skin" to be extremely hard. And her entire body was completely stiff.
"What caused her to get like this?" Morinth asked. " Doesn't seem like she can be saved."
"She's fine." Naruto answered. "She must have activated her security protocols to hinder any tampering with her body and programming before they managed to disable her. Unfortunately, this level of protection takes a very long time to come out of without help from me." Naruto explained as he opened his Omni tool. "I can have her up and about in a few minutes." He finished as he pulled out what appeared to be some sort of syringe. Looking in the back of her neck Naruto frowned and let out a sigh. "Sakura your sense of humor can be a real pain in the ass you know that?" He asked, knowing he won't get an answer. He began zipping down her suit, exposing her breasts.
Morinth looked on in amusement. "And just what you doing?"
"I need to get these specialized nanobots in her, the only way to do that in her state is to use an injection port. Originally it was behind her neck, but she moved it to her nipple as a joke." Naruto deadpanned. As he injected the fine needle into it's port and released it's contents "It will take a few minutes sakura is back to normal. Can you keep an eye out?" Naruto asked Morinth. "There may still be a few oddballs who wore their helmets or were outside when we released the gas."
"What are you going to do?" The asari asked.
"Just some snooping around in their database." He answered. "Never know what you can find, and I'd rather do it soon than later before who ever owns this base realizes something happened and wipe everything remotely." He finished as he opened a console.
20 minutes later…
Sakura was starting to come back online, something that made Naruto viably excited. After a few more minutes she slowly got up. "Finally." She said to herself.
"Sakura you're finally up!" Naruto said in excitement while getting up.
"Awww you were worried about m-" She started but was cut off.
"Your awesome is need!" Naruto cut in.
"Glad to see you care so much." She deadpanned. "Whataya want?"
"I need you to get in the systems of this base, completely take it over if you can, extract any research data you find and used the automated features to move the supplies and material in the base to the loading area. Also bring the venture in so we can load it up. This place is a treasure trove of tools, supplies and scientific intel, and I want as much of it as possible." He answered as he turned to Morinth. "I'll need your help again. We're heading back down to get more gas to vent this place again. We don't need the guards waking back up while we make off with the goods."
4 hours later…
Thanks to Morinth's biotics and Sakura having control over the loading equipment, the venture now had a fair deal of supplies in it's cargo hold, and Naruto now had a great deal of new data to look into. There was still more supplies to load, however Sakura intercepted chatter that alerted them to incoming forces. They boarded the ship and took off before the reinforcements even entered the system.
3 Hours later: Unknown location…..
A large hulking shadowed figure looked at the report on the base, along with it, a video taken from the security system that showed how Naruto and Morinth managed to subdue the entire facility. When that the recording cut off, the shadow broker sat at his desk, hands interlaced. "He doesn't know who he's dealing with." The broker Said to himself, opening a console. "Not in the slightest."
A/N It's been a long time coming, bu I'd like to give special thanks to OutlawJustice, who's deep knowledge of eve online's lore came in handy (while giving me a massive slap in the face upon pointing out just how far off I am with eve online's lore. Oh well I suppose it's okay since this was only suppose to be loosely based on eve lore but damn I didn't realize how far I drifted lol.). And to siksix6, who threw the idea of Naruto stirring up beef with the shadow broker, an idea that will add nice flavor to the story while filling in a gap that would have been present much later down the road.
I've also changed the pairing from Miranda to Morinth. Why? Because Morinth's backstory is more interesting to weave into the story. Morinth was the last person I had in mind for a pairing when I first started(Was going to use tali lol) purely due to her looks. While not ugly, she just doesn't seem to have the drop dead beauty we see in the rest of her race. But her back-story was far more interesting and very malleable (That and I just picture Morinth looking like one of her sisters:P). This chapter you get to see how clever she could be.
