Hello...

Okay, so I may have been a little busy...

Or maybe a LOT busy...

Either way, after many waiting months, I bring you "In Dragons We Trust (Part 1)"

...Hopefully I still have my touch!

NOTE: The format is slightly different, but the difference between the episode and the commentary is still quite obvious

Hiccup (V.O.): As you fly through life it's always good to know who you can trust...and who you can't.

[Hiccup and Toothless skillfully maneuver through the forest]

Hiccup: Nice catch, bud! ...A little close.

Stoick groaned, "How many times are you going to make me have a heart attack, son!"

Hiccup tiled his head, "Hmm...well, I don't have enough fingers and toes to count! ...Even with the lack of five toes..." he grinned.

Stoick face palmed.

Hiccup (V.O.): I know I can always count on Toothless, and it's important for him to know that no matter what...he can count on me.

Hiccup [to Fishlegs]: It's your turn. Jump!

Fishlegs: I don't want to jump! I-!

Hiccup: You have to believe she's gonna catch you! It's a trust exercise!

Fishlegs: I like to do my trusting on the ground, thank you very much!

Tuffnut snorted, "How bo-oring! Where's the excitement?!"

Snotlout: Like this, chicken-legs.

[Snotlout slides off Hookfang, going unnoticed by said dragon]

"Much better! Now that's what I'm talking about!" Tuffnut cheered.

Tuffnut: So...should we mention something to Hookfang?

Ruffnut ["thinks"]: Let me sleep on it.

Astrid: Hookfang! Get him!

[Toothless roars (notifies) Hookfang]

Snotlout: Not feeling the trust!

[Hookfang takes a sharp dive]

Snotlout: AH! Coming in too hot! AHH!

[...Too sharp, causing a lovely drop-in to the ever-so-lovely Mildew's house]

The entire village held their breath in anticipation.

Snotlout: Mildew!

Mildew: You'll pay for this!

Hiccup: Ohh...something tells me we're gonna hear about this...

Mildew scowled, "Stoick! How many times must I remind you, dragons are wild animals! They can't be...trained! They're vicious creatures!"

Stoick ignored the old man.

[Hiccup braces himself as he confronts the Cheif...or in more casual terms, his dad]

Hiccup: Shingle again? Didn't we have roofing material for dinner last night?

"Ha ha ha," Tuffnut laughed, "No...I still don't get it."

Ruffnut shoves Tuffnut onto the ground.

"Hey!"

[Stoick is not amused]

Hiccup: It was an accident, dad. I'm sure Mildew's making it sound worse than it is.

Stoick: A dragon and a huge, obnoxious boy crashed through his roof...twice!

Hiccup: Well, sure, it sounds bad if you're gonna...stick to the facts.

"Oh! Facts are the greatest thing in the world! Did you know that-" Fishlegs started.

"Shut it, 'Legs...we don't need to hear it," Snotlout cut in.

Fishlegs snapped his mouth shut.

Stoick: Of all the houses on the island, a dragon had to crash through Mildew's! You know he hates dragons more than anyone else!

Mildew huffed, "You got that right!"

Hiccup: Eh-I know...You might wanna talk to him about his attitude.

Mildew mock-gasped.

Stoick: Listen to me, Hiccup. I gave you the responsibility of training those dragons. Everyone knows that! All eyes are upon you son. Whatever those beasts do reflects on you. And more importantly And whatever you do reflects on me.

"...This reminds me of the time when my father and I..." Gobber began.

One look from the crowd silenced him.

Hiccup: I'm sorry, dad. You're right.

Stoick: You and your friends are gonna go back to Mildew's and fix that roof. Without your dragons!

Hiccup [whispers] : Got a break there, bud.

Stoick: Ah! Not so fast! Aren't you forgetting something?

[Hiccup pretends to think]

Stoick: It's boot night!

The teens all groan.

...Boot night is the worst night of the week!

[Takes off his shoes and hands them to Hiccup]

Stoick: They need to be aired out.

[Hiccup groans]

Hiccup: I think it's going to take more than... air.

[Screen changes to the village of Berk]

Fishlegs: Uck. I hate boot night!

Tuffnut: Why is his left foot always so much smellier than his right?

"Ooh! I know! It's because it has Tuffnut germs all over it!" Ruffnut announced.

Snotlout: Oh no... [collapses]

"-Hey!" Tuffnut hollered from his position on the ground.

[The next day...]

Stoick: Where are my boots? ...Where are your boots?

Gobber: They've all been stolen! Every last one!

Bucket: Oh! That explains why me feet are so cold.

"But me feet aren't cold...they're nice and toasty!" Bucket said.

"But they weren't there," Mulch said.

"There? Where's there? ...Are you there?" Bucket asked.

Mulch groaned in defeat.

Mulch: Who could have done such a thing?

Mildew: All I know is that they left a mighty big footprint.

Hiccup huffed knowingly...of course Mildew would be the one to spot this type of clue...

Fishlegs: Oh! Those are Zippleback tracks. You can tell by the half-moon shaped arches. That's dragon 101 guys, I don't gotta fill you in on that.

"...Smart move, Fish..." Astrid deadpanned.

"Thank you!" Fishlegs beamed.

Hiccup: So a dragon walked through here - a Zippleback, according to my friend, Fishlegs. [Glares daggers at said teen] But that doesn't mean he took everyone's boots.

"...Oh, you were being sarcastic..." Fishlegs said.

Mildew: Well, there's just one way to find out. Follow the footprints.

[The come across Barf & Belch, surrounded by everyone's boots]

Hiccup: So there's a bunch of boots piled around a Zippleback. That doesn't mean-

[Frantically waves his arms around]

Hiccup: ...Okay, fine, he took the boots.

"Could've tried a little harder, cousin..." Snotlout said.

Viking #1: How are we supposed to do any work in this weather without our boots?

Viking #2: This is outrageous!

"Hey! You try coming up with quick ideas while everyone is glaring at you!" Hiccup retorted.

Mildew: Now how long before something's done about these creatures, Stoick? How much more can we stand?!

Gobber: Listen to yourselves... [Changes to a high pitch in his voice] My feet are cold! [Reverts back to his regular tone] You're Vikings! Everything is cold! I'll fix your boots for yeh. You'll be back to work in no time.

"Leave it to Gobber to 'save the day'," Hiccup sighed.

Stoick: You all heard Gobber. You'll be getting your boots back as good as new.

Mildew: That's it? No consequence for the dragons?

Stoick: They took our boots, Mildew. The world isn't coming to an end!

"Exactly!" the teens agreed.

Mildew: Oh, don't be so sure. Dragon's are wild beasts. There's no telling what else they'll do behind our sleeping backs.

"I know! The dragons...sleep. Just like everyone else," Tuffnut grinned.

Hiccup: They don't destroy things on purpose!

"It's true! Barf & Belch won't wake up in the middle of the night to help us with our pranks!" Ruffnut added.

(Beat)

"...Now I think I know where my food went..."

"Did you to steal my laundry too?!"

"Oi! My undies!"

The twins glanced at each other and tried to hide their growing grins.

Mildew: Dah!

Hiccup: But you do have a point, Mildew.

"WHAT?!" the teens shouted.

Mildew [shocked]: Uh-whuh?

Hiccup: They are wild animals. And they need us to keep an eye on them. And rest assured, we will do just that!

Toothless huffed and bumped Hiccup.

"Oh come on bud, give me a break!" Hiccup sighed.

Be expecting more updates this week. I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow, so I'll be bedridden for a while :/

...to be continued.
