Chapter 6
Practice makes perfect part 2
It was only two days till the tournament, the whole school is pumped and excited. Roxy had come up with the idea of mascots for the school when she had found out they didn't have one. Nor did any of the schools in Magix. After discussing the new Earth custums to Nebula Roxy got permission to start up Earth sports clubs at the Academy and permission to explain them to the Headmasters in Magix. With just a little bit of help she convinced Queen Nebula to allow Andy to help her out. With him and his two buddy's she was able to get lots of information types up and printed to show Queen Nebula.
" Come in Roxy." Queen Nebula says when she hears a knock at the door The younger Fairy had scheduled an appointment the day before and it was no surprise as to how punctual she was.
"Hello Queen Nebula. I got all the information you asked for and I have five copies." Roxy says setting five folders down on the headmistress desk each in a different color.
"So what are the Mascots for each school?" The Queen asks.
"Well the schools can change to what they see fit but as a suggestion I put down a Unicorn for Alphea, a Centaur for Red Fountain, a Kelpie for Cloud Tower, a Harpie for the Beta Academy, and for our academy a Phoenix." Roxy says counting off the schools with her fingers. "I also included Earth's information on each of those creatures in case they have never heard of them on Magix before."
"Good, good. I'm sure they will appreciate the extra effort on your part now all you need to do is finish off the power point presentation and get the right paper work from the school in Gardenia. I will send each of these to the school and review my own and it will actually be the day after the tournament before we can hold a meeting to discuss all of this."
"That is okay I would just like to ask if Andy can come with me to the meeting because he knows more about some of the sports than I do. And I would also like a folder containing information about Magix sports." Roxy says.
"Of course. Here you go I almost forgot to give it to you I've also been busy. Being a headmistress and a Queen at the same time is rather difficult after all."
"Yes I'm sorry. Now I need to get going or I'll be late to my next class. Thanks for giving us a chance Queen Nebula." Roxy says and begins to leave.
"Anytime Roxy." The Queen says as the younger Fairy leaves.
As Roxy walks down the empty she cast a quick spell to summon her backpack and digs around to find her Convergence homework. After a minute of rumaging she finds it and holds on to it while securing her backpack on her shoulders. Not long before she get to the classroom the Bell rings and other students join her in the hallway.
"Hey Roxy how did it go?" Ferris asks. She is a witch who is slightly shorter than average, tin and curvy, pale, mid-back length hair, and blue eyes. She is dressed in a white jacket with pink sleeves that is ziped up, a pink skirt, and a pair of white knee length boots. She is Roxy's neighbor from across the hall here at the Academy.
"Good she liked what I suggested and gave me the information on Magix's sports like I asked. And she is letting Andy come with me to the meeting. But the date got rescheduled to the day after the tournament. Speaking of which did you and Becca find a third person for the team work competition?" Roxy asks.
"That's good to hear and yeah we did. Sou, she is in magical gym with us and her power works well with ours we just have to help her in history cause she isn't the best at remembering dates." Ferris explains.
"Sounds like fun." Roxy says with a giggle. "I think me and her are both in potionology class together."
"Yeah well talk to you later." Ferris says as they reach their classroom and goes to the back to her seat. While Roxy sits in the front. After a few more student show up the Bell rings and Miss. Mina starts her class. She is tall, pale, has brown eyes, and long blonde hair that is up in a high braided ponytail. She is dressed in a red violet shirt with one sleeve on her right arm that has an attached fingerless glove on the end, a long ankle length skirt with a split on the right side, a arm band on her lower left arm, a white choker and belt, and some simple heels.
"Pass up your work from last night and open your text books to page 50 and read the chapter. When everyone finishes we will do a few exercises." She says and has a piece of chalk write on the board for her as she gathers the homework she had assigned.
"Come on Andy put some force behind that swing!" Professor Bishop yells coaching his student.
Andy was trying to follow his teachers instructions but was finding it rather difficult. Even though the blade was non existent until a button is pushed his sword was rather heavey and was starting to wear him down. It was all he could do to swig his blade let alone actually putting fource behind it to take out a opponent. Who right now is Shinn.
"Shinn pick up that sword higher or you'll loser your balance!" Professor Bishop yells.
"David you need to be more losse on your lunges what will happen if you have to change directions at the last second due to an attack. Stay light on your feet distance is both your friend and enemy." Bishop says coaching one of the other students.
"Alexander your doing good compared to the others with your movements and balance but hold your blades correctly before you cut yourself."
The class continues to fight and the professor keeps correcting them. This goes on until finally Bishop speaks up and doesn't yell.
"Alright go work for today but all of you should still practice in your free time. Now hit the showers and put your weapons away and I will see you tomorrow." Bishop says and walks out. He normally gave his last class of the day ten minutes to shower before the bell rings each day and even though it doesn't takes that long he normally just dismisses the class like that.
"So Shinn is it just me or can you feel the weight of the blade after a while?" Andy asks his sparing partner.
"Yeah some days are even worse. We should talk to Professor Bishop about it to make sure its not just our imagination though." Shinn answers.
"Good point." Andy says as he enters the locker room. After him and the other boys clean up they head back to the dorms.
"So any of you guys going to win a competition Thursday?" Andy asks. He was looking forward to the tournament but knew he wasn't ready to join in on the fun but some of his classmates weren't going to let that stop them.
"Don't think so but I will be participating in a track like competition. I was pretty good at Track at my last school so I figured I'd give it a shot here." David says.
"That's cool I'm just going to be sitting on the sidelines and get an idea of what I want to do next time." Shinn says.
"That's pretty smart seeing as how we are all new to this compared to other specialist." Andy says.
"Yeah I just hope I will be better when the next one happens." Shinn says.
"At least it's a good plan. How about you Alexander?" Andy asks.
"Well I use to be in a circus, don't ask, and there is going to be a gymnastics competition so I'll be joining that for fun." Alexander explains.
"Dude that's cool why not talk about it?" David asks.
"Well one might think so but its not the case and like I said I don't want to talk about maybe another time." Alexander explains and walks off.
"Sorry!" David yells his apology to Alexander's back. Who just lifts his hand in alright manner.
"Alright guys I'll catch up with you later. I have to go meet up with Roxy in the Library to work on some stuff." Andy says after seeing Roxy a little ways away waving at him to get his attention.
"See ya." Shinn says to Andy as he waves to Roxy.
