Trial of a Century
"What do you have to say for yourself Batman?" The tall imposing judge demanded an answer from him.
He hated that bat vigilante. He was just as crazy as the rest of the villains that ran around Gotham, but he beats up a few of the really bad ones, and everyone goes crazy over him. Declaring him a hero, ha! Now look where it's got them. Batman destroyed part of the orphanage Bruce Wayne supports. He didn't even cover his tracks! He's gotten so cocky and sure of himself he left irrefutable proof that he committed the crime. Now he'll get what's coming to him.
"There is no way I destroyed that orphanage!" Batman growled. He looked foolish wearing his suit in broad daylight. Cameras were flashing everywhere, the News stations and Magazine representatives' were all trying to get great shots for what would become the story of a lifetime.
"Then what about the explosives found at the scene of the crime. The bomb specialists reconstructed it and found your insignia! Are you trying to tell these good people that it wasn't your bomb that endangered the lives of over 30 sleeping orphans? You don't know how your insignia was put on that bomb?" The judge leaned forward in his seat and waved his gavel in a threating manner.
"Why would I even blow up an orphanage? I am the protector of this city!" Batman shouted. Spittle flying from his mouth.
"Let it be known that the orphanage that was bombed was one that Bruce Wayne frequently donates too. Also that the side of the building that was most damaged was where the matron's office was stationed. Where they kept most of the funds! Over $10,000 is missing from the scene of the crime and we all know your vigilante work isn't a paying job. Where do you get your money for all your fancy vehicles and gadgets? How do we know that if we check back into past crimes you were involved in we won't find money missing from those crime scenes too!" The judge says mockingly, "Tell us Batman, Who other than you could have planted your own bomb? Who could get close enough to the Great Batman and steal from him?"
Batman flushed in anger and dropped his head. "The Joker, The Trickster, and The Jester" he said through clenched teeth. "As you know a week ago The Joker crashed one of Bruce Wayne's parties and introduced a new villain, The Trickster. We catch them later, but Joker escapes while we're interrogating the boy. His name is Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze, 16 years old, and views Joker as his and his twin brother's savior. The Joker is also obsessively possessive of Naruto, and his brother is insanely protective of him."
"Are you telling us that this three criminals, two might I add are children, stole one of the bombs off your person and set it off in an orphanage? When did they steal it, and how were they even able to do it?" Everyone in the court room leaned forward as they saw Batman clench his teeth.
"The Joker was dangling from the building overlooking the bay where he had the two ships held hostage, and I was trying to convince Naruto to give up on the Joker. I was convinced it was working, but I said something. Something that must have been trigger words for the kid, because even then The Joker warned me about his rage. I only looked away for a moment, but when I looked back the kid's twin brother was there and they were both pissed. They double teamed me and eventually overtook me. I was laying there waiting for them to kill me, but the Joker stopped them. He stopped them by petting The Jester on the head and a peck on the cheek to Naruto." Batman shivers in fear and the cameras are quick to get visible proof of that moment. "They took off my utility belt and left me hogtied on the roof of the building where the police found me several hours later. The bomb could have been taken at that time."
The silence in the court room was deafening. No one moved, no one talked, they were all afraid to break the tension Batman's confession had made.
"Well…In light of this new information, we will take a 20 minute recess. Dismissed!" the judge ordered with a smack of the gavel.

"Hahahahaha, watching the Bat admit he was beat by two teenagers is the greatest thing in the world!" The Joker cackled as Trick, Kuruma, and he all watched the trial on the television.
Bonnie and Clyde were curled up on either side of the TV resting from their trip to the dog park their owners brought them to, and their dog shape snacks.
"I'm so glad you found me, Joker." Trick nuzzled closer to the Joker.
"You, my little Trick" Joker grabbed Trick's hair and forced his head back. "Can call me Jack" He smiled insanely and kissed Trick with all the force and possession he could.
