"Through mountains high and valleys low. The ocean through the desert snow. We'll say good-bye to the friends we know. This is our exodus 04," Utada Hikaru/Exodus 04

She didn't know how long she was standing there atop that hill. They were still there. All together, being happy... without her. Common sense told Myrrah to run but she found her legs dead beneath her. At least 15 minutes had passed and they still didn't notice her. Was she that plain and insignificant? The heavy feeling in her heart overwhelmed her. It bubbled upward inside her with nowhere to go except her eyes. Steams of sadness poured down her cheeks. It burned even more to watch the children. How perfect they are. How happy... Myrrah clutched at her aching chest.

So this why...? Was I destroying their perfect family?

Not caring how she appeared, Myrrah released her feelings in a scream. Not angry or sad, but an agonizing emotion. Time slowed as the family below turned and saw a demon looking down at them. It finally happened. They were looking at her, acknowledging her. The children looked confused, as if they had no idea who or what Myrrah was them. In a second, their perfect brown eyes hardened as they became battle ready. Myrrah remained chained by her confusion and despair. She couldn't bare to look at InuYasha or his wife.

"Yokai!" The daughter's beautiful voice rang out. Myrrah watched but could not bring herself to move as her elder sister raised her bow. The arrow was loose... and had embedded itself in Myrrah's leg.

God, it burned. Myrrah collapsed, clutching her leg. The pain was intense as if her body was trying to break itself apart. She could barely move her head to look at her wound. A sacred arrow? They were holy warriors? Trying to kill the ugly, impure demon. Myrrah sobbed uncontrollably. Her ears twitched. The daughter had raised her bow again! They were going to really kill her! Of course InuYasha and his wife wouldn't do anything to stop this. What was she compared to such pure children of light? Myrrah snapped the shaft, leaving the arrowhead in her flesh. As quickly as her leg would allow, Myrrah sprinted away from the human village into an open field. She heard voices and shouts that were muffled by her hyperventilating. A trail of blood burned after her and the pain prevented her from transforming and flying away. A forest of thick trees came into view. She did not care where it lead to or if it was dangerous. She bolted in, hoping no one would follow her. The low branches struck her everywhere and sliced her beautiful skin, adding to her misery. A root came up in her path and blinded by her tears, Myrrah tripped and fell. She couldn't bring herself to stand and cried in the dirt and leaves. She sobbed out loud, too upset to think of what attention she would draw to herself.

It was all just a lie...!

She heard a branch purposely snap behind her. She slowly turned and saw who she expected. He looked so miserable. His eyes displayed such pity that it turned her sadness into fury. He knelt before her and offered his claw. Myrrah recoiled at the man who shared her face and coloring. She slapped it away.

"Sawaranaidekure!" Myrrah's voice was trembling. She sounded so vulnerable.

"Myrrah-"

"Urusai!" she yelled again. How could he say her name like that? So casual? Like they knew each other. Like he cared. Myrrah couldn't stop crying. Despite her shouting, InuYasha laid his claw atop her head. He caressed her hair and lightly brushed her chibi ears. Myrrah couldn't stop herself from looking into his eyes. He was so handsome and everything about him screamed that she was his offspring. His hand was so soft. His voice was warm and gentle. He was wonderful..., but he didn't want her. They never did. Myrrah's eyes drifted down to the sword secured to his hip. Myrrah that irrationally decided to end their similarities. She snatched the tetsaiga from it's sheath and jumped away from it's owner.

"Myrrah, what are you doing? Give that to me!" InuYasha commanded.

Myrrah nearly fell over when the fang transformed in her hands. It was huge, at least twice her size. Yet, Myrrah had minor difficulty with it's weight. How could something so huge be so easy to carry? She hesitatingly held it to her neck.

"Stop!" InuYasha dashed forward to stop her but couldn't stop the rotation of her wrist. He watched in horror as the fang haphazardly sliced through Myrrah's beautiful silver hair. It floated to the ground and left it white like snow.

There. Now we're different.

"I no longer exist to you," Myrrah threw the Tetsaiga at InuYasha's feet, followed by another onslaught of tears. She took off, leaving a stunned hanyou and streaming silvery tresses.

Myrrah ran until she exhausted all of her energy. The trees and wind screamed around her. She slumped her little body against the nearest tree, where it all sunk in. She didn't even realize that she was still crying. The wound in her leg burned relentlessly.

Did they ever hold her as a baby? Or did they leave her somewhere when as soon as she was born?

Were her siblings even aware of her?

Did they give Myrrah her name?

The sun and moon passed over her head countless times without her notice. Not a drop of water or scarp of food passed her lips during the time. Was it cold? Was the sunlight warm? Not that she cared... Why did it have to turn out this way? She could be at home at this very moment, making mischief, eating special snacks made by Mila-chan, getting her ears chewed off by Jaken, and being with her Sessha and Rin. Why did she have to go off by herself and fin didn't she ever listen? Now everything was destroyed. She couldn't look any of them in the eye ever again, knowing she never really belonged.

Her ears perked up.

This scent? Wolves? Ryuk!

Myrrah staggered upward, using the tree for support. She was caked with dry blood and dirt. She smiled for the first time in days at her thoughts and memories of them together. Her feet stumbled with ever step. How long had she been lost? Wallowing in her own misery and doubt like a child. Her body was so weak, she could barely stand on her own. Following the scent of the wolf yokai, Myrrah limped the entire time. It took so much to move but she had to see Ryuk. Her desire overwhelmed her and more tears fell. She needed to see him. Hear his voice, see his eyes, see him smile. She wanted him to hold her and make her laugh.

The journey to lair of the wolf yokai took hours but her only focus was seeing Ryuk. She managed to hike the mountains. Her injured leg was only making it that much harder. She was ready to fall down dead by the time when the dens were close. The scent was strong. There were many of them.

"Don't move," A man's harsh voice hissed to her.

Myrrah whipped her head around to a group of three wolf yokai. All weaponized and threatening. They had her surrounded. She couldn't defend herself in her current state. Fear tugged at her. Her breathing became heavy.

"What is your purpose? Are you a spy? Who sent you?" One held a spear to her throat. Myrrah's mouth became dry and she couldn't speak. The starvation finally took it's tole and limiting her basic functions. They all glowered of her as if she was the scum of the earth. "Take her,"

She was roughly snatched from the ground. Her hands were yanked behind her back and tied with a rope that cut into her skin. Myrrah was thrown over a shoulder and carried like a sack. She drifted in and out of consciousness as she was bounced up and down. The one carrying her had the nerve to molest her backside while the others were distracted. There was barely any strength to keep her eyes open, let alone be upset of the treatment she was receiving. A few hours had passed when the yokai carrying her throw her on the ground. She whimpered at the impact and her eyes remained closed. The sun was too bright and she sensed the crowd gathering around them. The wolf yokai whispered about her. She squeezed her eyes even tighter.

"What is she? A demon?"
"Majo!"
"Spy!"
"Kill her!"
Accusing were thrown about.

"What's going on?" Myrrah tilted her head in a male's voice's direction. His voice she had heard before.

"This girl was wondering around the outskirts of our territory, your lordship,"

She felt a rough kick in her sides. The pain made her cry out.

"MYRRAH!"

"R-Ryuk?" Myrrah managed to choke out before finally collapsing. She floated in a familiar warmth. The hands she felt on her body. Had she finally reached him? Her arms snaked upward and encircled his neck and wept.
