A/N: More short chapters. I am preparing for the onslaught of sharp things! It's just that my shifty interest syndrome is acting up again. Okay, I have to clear something up. I know it seemed harsh for Kagome and InuYasha to give up Myrrah but they did it for a good reason. You'll see soon. FORESHADOWING!

Thank you everyone for reviewing! It means so much and it's soooooo nice. You all deserve free unlimited everything for the rest of your lives!

I own nothing!

If a hard stare could cause combustion, Myrrah would be engulfed in flames at the very moment. She had been living with the wolf tribe for some time. A complete outsider was sitting in one of the dens unguarded with the young pups yet no one was questioning it. There she sat surrounded by grinning children all of whom absolutely adored her. Myrrah was graciously regaling the young with a retelling of the tale of how she and Ryuk met. They just couldn't get enough of her. The entire tribe was completely enthralled by the exotic beauty. There should have been an uproar, demand to cast out or execute the interloper. Instead the inu daiyokai was welcomed with open arms. Even the tribe's leaders had no qualms with her involvement with their youngest son. Ayame-sama was especially enraptured by the girl: training with her, holding hour long conversations, and treating Myrrah like the daughter she never had. Kouga-sama was surprisingly tolerate of her as well, even with his infamous reputation for having a short temper. How did the little bitch worm her way into the tribe? Probably by seducing the young wolf prince.

Felan stood by, watching Myrrah with bitter hazel eyes. Her skin crawled sickeningly as Ryuk came into view, standing close to Myrrah. He held her hand and connected their eyes with the kind of intimacy that made Felan's entire being shatter. Her sharp claws cut into the palm as she made a fist. How could they behave in such a way? Shamelessly flirting and carrying on out in public as if they were already a mated pair. Felan felt a painful lump grow in her throat as she came to an even more painful realization. Ryuk and Myrrah obviously shared an intense bond of an amorous nature. It had only been a few weeks but Myrrah was practically a member of the tribe now. If Ryuk wanted to officially take Myrrah as his eternal mate, they would have no problems getting approval.

Felan felt as if ice water was pour over her head. She was born the same year as Ryuk and was raised by his side. Unsurprisingly, she developed feelings for him. A wolf of inferior birth could not possibly become the mate of the son of the chief, but Felan considered it rather lucky that she fell in love with youngest son. Ryuk had no serious duties to the clan. He was fifth in the line of the succession. He was free to pursue whatever he wanted and be with whomever he loved. A once in a lifetime chance that Felan was going to take full advantage of. That is until a beautiful daiyokai whom she could not possibly hope to compete with, snatched Ryuk away. Her insides twisted until she felt bile rise in her throat.

"Envy is not befitting of you, Felan," She turned to see Raff with that infuriating smirk on his face.

"How can everyone be so rural around her? She is detestable," Felan returned to openly glaring at Myrrah from across the terrain.

"Ryuk doesn't see her that way," Raff poured salt on the wound. "Rumor is that she is a relative of Inu no Taisho,"

"Most likely an illegitimate bastard spawned from a sexual assault," Felan stuck her nose in the air and folded her arms across her chest. "And the Alpha behave as if she is one of our own,"

"It's clear that Ryuk-sama has no intention of separating from her,"

"She must have bewitched him. I-I mean how could he-"

"-Be in love with her when there are so many ready and willing females here?" Raff jabbed at the arduous subject.

"Be silent," Felan ordered and managed to regain her dignity. She walked away with poised steps. Raff smirked at her performance. Myrrah held the prince's heart effortlessly but could it bout Felan's ambition? Raff smiled inwardly. It would be an interesting show.

This heavy, nauseating feeling in the pit of his stomach he had experienced only once before: when Rin died in his care in the Underworld. This time, the feeling was with him constantly. For three solid weeks. Three weeks Myrrah had been gone. Of course he knew where she was, he always knows where she is. The urge to go after her was more compelling than anything he had ever felt in his life, but he stayed rooted in his palace. His wife was going ballistic. These quiet seconds were the first in weeks that Rin wasn't by his side begging to bring Myrrah home. There was nothing they could do.

He pieced together what had transpired. The scent of her blood and tears, her beautiful hair in shambles spread over the unworthy ground, and the sense of her overwhelmingly sadness and confusion. Never before had he felt her in such a state. How he wanted to beat the living hell out of his younger brother and his foolish wife. How could this have happened? A pact was made the day Sesshomaru agreed to adopt Myrrah. By the time Myrrah reached maturity, if she chose to do so, she was permitted to contact InuYasha and Kagome. Before that, they were forbidden to see one another. He partially felt responsible. Why didn't he reign her in when he saw her curiosity control her? The pup was after all InuYasha's daughter. How he wanted to bring her home and tell her everything, but it was too late. The bridge was burning before their eyes.

"Anata?"

He turned to see his wife, who had been absent from their home all day, standing behind him. Her face donned the same bloodshot eyes and tear stained cheeks she had been sporting all week, breaking his heart further.

"Where have you been?"

"I went to the wolf yokai tribe," She shrank back a bit when she saw his golden eyes darken.

"Why?" His voice was brimming with barely contained rage.

"Koga and Ayame refuse to release her to us," Rin whispered solemnly.

"What?!" Sesshomaru snapped. "How dare they?!"

"Ayame's concern stems from the condition they found Myrrah in," Rin continued.

"That was not our doing!" Sesshomaru was preparing himself to march straight to the dens and snatch Myrrah out of their ignorant claws. What right did they have to withhold his daughter from him?

"They want us to stay away from her... at least until she recovers," Rin drew in a deep breath. "And I agree,"

Sesshomaru wanted to fly across the room and strangle his wife but he recognized her honesty. He knew of course she was right.

"I do not want to stay away," He admitted. Rin rushed over and embraced him.

"Me too," Her voice shook. "But I don't know how Myrrah feels,"

They felt as lost as Myrrah.
