AN: I don't own Ghost Hunt just the plot!

Emersion 15

Next morning Mai's POV

I didn't dream at all after falling asleep in base listing to the guys talk about the game plan for defeating this Beast Man. However, I am still worried that this beast will not go away even if we destroy the talisman that binds him to Tamaki. Naru could still get seriously hurt even if we destroyed the Beast. My instincts are screaming at me to protect everyone.

I am not sure why but I feel a power brewing in me one that feels like fire burning in my veins waiting to be unleashed. I know that this case is going to change me in some way and it slightly scares me. I know that whatever transpires my family and friends will be there to support me.

Enough introspection Mai time to find out what is going on around you and judging by the time I'm sure Naru is ready for tea.

Sitting up rubbing my eyes I look around the base to see Lin and Gene sitting in front of the monitors. Clearing my throat I ask, "Where is everyone?"

Gene looks at me and grins "Are you wanting to know where Noll is or just everyone in general?"

"Gene….really please just tell me where everyone is right now is not the time to joke around."

Rolling his eyes replies "Monk and John are preparing to destroy the talisman, Madoka and Yasu are still doing some research, Masako is currently resting she woke up this morning with a migraine and Noll should be…speaking of Noll."

Glancing at the entrance to base Noll was walking in with a tray of food and what looked to be a pot of tea.

Watching as Naru approached me, I wondered why he brought so much in with him. Arching my brow as if to ask him what all this was about, he shrugged as if he didn't really have to give a reason.

I was not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. As Naru set down next to me on the couch I asked "what all did you bring? And is there enough to share I am starving."

Naru gave me a look that made my breath fall short with his cocky half grin and replied "I figured you would be hungry when you woke up, since you have slept half the day away."

WHAT!? Did he just say I slept half the day, how come he didn't wake me, how did I sleep through all the noisy part timers coming in and going.

Gene snorts and says "Don't let Noll pick on you Mai it is only 9 A.M. it is not like you have missed all that much and it is not your fault that my brother gets up at the crack of dawn every morning."

Glaring at Gene "Don't you need to do a walk about with Ms. Hara?"

Shaking his head Gene gets up to leave base and find out if the medium is feeling any better.

Naru POV

Looking back at Mai, I see that see is already digging in to the breakfast that I have brought for her and she has made me a cup of tea. "Did you have any dreams last night Mai?"

Shaking her head no, while her month was full of food after taking a minute too chew her food she replied. "I didn't have a dream but I have this feeling that there is a power building in me and I am not quite sure about how to react to it. It doesn't exactly feel the same as what yours does when your power grows and you and Gene pass it between each other. This feels different like a warm heat that spreads throughout my body and spreads out like a warm bubble. I don't really understand what is going on I didn't feel this way until I met the Beast Man and he threatened you, now when I start thinking about the threats that he has made against us it starts and I don't know what will happen if I release it."

I look a Mai with concern, I was afraid of this after the threat in the kitchen and the blinding white light that had emitted from Mai when he had made a move to attack me after I entered the room. " I will be here if you need anything Mai, don't let this scare you once this case is over we will run some test and Lin will start training you on mental block techniques."

Mai just nods and goes back to eating her breakfast while I decide to check on my brother and see what trouble he is getting into.

'Gene what are you doing'

'I'm currently walking around to see if I feel anything why?'

'I am concerned for Mai her powers are growing more rapidly then I originally anticipated, we will have to get her tested as soon as this case is over.'

'I figured that they were after her little show in the kitchen yesterday.'

'Yes she said the "Beast Man" is after my power and hers. That when he brought up the fact that he was going to kill Tamaki and me she just lost it.'

'Well dear brother you are her Achilles heel.'

'I don't think I know what you mean but right now is not the time for clarification on this topic we need to get everyone together so that we can try to kill this thing before it has the chance to hurt someone….

"NARU, are you listening to me I am trying to ask you what your plan is to get rid of our creepy guest."

Looking at Mai replies "Yes I hear you and the plan is to get to Tamaki before the demon does."

"He said something about the fallen and that this will not stop with just him." She shivers slightly at the thought of having to face more demons in the future.

Standing up I place a hand on her shoulder "We will get rid of him before anything serious happens and everyone will go home just like normal."

I turn to make my way toward Lin so that we can figure out just what needs to be done in order to get the talisman form Tamaki. Hopefully this will be quick; all we needed to do now was convince Tamaki to cooperate. This was going to be a long day!

AN: Sorry guys I know it has been a long time since I have updated…I really have no reason other than I didn't know where I wanted to go with this story and right now this chapter is more of a filler and no real progress was made but I feel it was necessary for me in order to get back to writing. Thank you to all that reviewed and favorite the story even with no updates you guys are the whole reason I forced myself to write this chapter.
