"Where'd you learn to hunt like that?" John asked Alex as she wiped blood from her face.

"Natural talent." Alex smirked, pulling a flask from her back pocket and taking a sip. John's phone rang for the fifth time that morning and she watched him look at the display, huff, then silence the call. "Could be important if they keep calling."

"It's just my kids." John tossed his phone on the table next to him.

"You have kids?"

"What did you find out about the demon signs in Oklahoma?" John changed the subject.

"Nothing interesting." Alex shrugged. "There were a couple of other hunters in the area so I gave them a call. They must've handled it-"

John had heard enough, standing and escaping to the motel bathroom to shower. Alex heard the shower turn on when his phone rang again. She was tired of listening to it ring so she picked up. "John Winchester's phone. Lexi speaking."

"Who the hell are you?" A male voice barked.

"Name's Lexi. Who are you?"

"Where's John?" The man asked.

"In the shower." Alex glanced at the closed bathroom door, giggling mischeviously into the phone. "Maybe he could use some company..."

"Hey!" She could hear him shudder. "Just tell him to call Dean back."

"Will do." Alex snapped the phone closed and put it back on the table, pulling out her own and escaping from the motel room to make a call. "Hey, Izzie. Do you need help with your homework?"

"I'm just saying that you should call them back." Alex had her feet up on the table, flipping through the complementary Bible in the motel room. "Dean sounded upset."

"If they sounded so upset, you go check on them." John snapped, rubbing his eyes tiredly. "I have bigger problems."

"Geez, you're an asshole, you know that?" Alex softened her words with a chuckle then collected her gear. "Want me to call you when I check in on your kids?"

"Nope." John didn't bother to look up as she left.

"What an ass." Alex muttered as she hot wired a car, pulling out of the parking lot and dialing Dean's number.

"Yeah?" Dean answered.

"Listen, your dad couldn't show up but I'm on my way. What's wrong?"

"Why couldn't my dad come?" Dean asked, trying to hide the concern in his voice.

"How old are you? Four?" Alex scoffed. "Need Daddy to hold your hand?"

"No. You...need..." Dean stammered then huffed. "Just get here. We need some backup."

"Yes, sir." Alex typed in the coordinates into her GPS and hung up. Flooring the gas, she muttered, "Whole family full of assholes."

"Never a good sign when you talk to yourself, sweetheart." Azazel appeared in the passenger seat.

"I'll worry when I answer myself." Alex grumbled. "I don't understand why you want the Winchesters, though. They seem like normal hunters."

"I've got special plans for Sammy. He's going to be...very important in the war." Azazel caught Alex's offended look and squeezed her hand with a smile. "He'll never overturn you, princess, but Sammy—he's my favorite."

"Hmph." Alex pouted as she drove.

"How's that boyfriend of yours?" Azazel inquired bitterly. "What's his name again?"

"Castiel." Alex said.

"You know how I feel about you dating angels, dear." His tone was fatherly.

"You know how I feel about the Winchesters." Alex countered.

"How's your sister and mother?" Azazel asked.

"Fine. Mom's in surgery right now and Izzie's with some friends at her first sleep over." Talking about her sister always made her smile. "Her birthday is this weekend, you know. I'd like to see her."

"If everything works out with Sam, you'll be able to."

"Sam, Sam, Sam," She mimicked and Azazel chuckled. "You know, I've met other demons and they don't handle competition well."

"You are more than an ordinary, run of the mill demon, Lexi." He reminded her. "You're a cambion and very powerful and, I'm hoping, more forgiving of 'competiton'. Can you play nice with the Winchesters? Hmm? For your dear, old dad?"

"Fine." She let out a breath and he disappeared. "Ugh. I hate playing nice."

The coordinates were to a hospital and Alex parked her stolen car, using her demonic abilities to find the Winchester boys. She appeared in an on call room close to the room they were in, startling a couple who were trying to have sex. There was a shaggy haired man who looked close to her age standing outside of a room and trying to make a phone call.

"Sam?" Alex approached him with a wide smile. Sam looked up with a curious and defensive look on his face so Alex extended a hand to him. "Alex Hunter. Your dad sent me. What's the problem?"

"It's Dean." Sam gestured for her to look into the hospital room. "We needed backup sooner than you could bother to get here, I guess."

"He's fine." Alex said. It was true. Dean was holding the hand of a sleeping girl with wires attached to her chest. "What's the problem?"

"He won't leave." Sam's voice was low. "That's Lisa, his girlfriend of three years. We were trying to take out a shtriga and she got in the way."

"Is she going to wake up?" Alex asked, watching the elder Winchester with his girlfriend.

"I don't know for sure, but probably not." Sam sighed, leaning against the wall once more. "Why'd Dad send you?"

Alex shrugged. "He's busy chasing down some demon."

Sam nodded once and Alex almost felt pity for his down trodden look. She nudged him with the toe of her boot. "Let's go get some coffee. We're not doing any good sitting out here."

The younger Winchester was actually intelligent and she could see why her father would pick him as his favorite in whatever he was planning. He must be one of her father's special 'children' and she used the term loosely. She was his only daughter that mattered, Meg was a spoiled brat who deserved to be exorcised. Meg was sloppy, competitive, and stupid. It wasn't hard to figure out why these two had managed to send her back to Hell. This is why Alex would always be Azazel's favorite child, despite whatever abominations he was creating in his free time. As she sipped her coffee, Alex examined her competition for her father's military affection. Thanks to John, Sam was in shape not just physically but mentally. If he was actually able to harness his abilities and drank the blood he needed, he would be a fantastic leader.

"Sorry about your girlfriend." Alex offered and Sam's head snapped up so quickly she thought it would fly off his neck.

"How'd you know about that?"

"It's kind of all over the hunter news." That was a lie. She had been the one to put Jessica on that ceiling at Azazel's command. "You know who did it?"

Sam cleared his throat. "I really don't want to talk about this."

"I understand." Alex took another drink of her coffee. "My boyfriend and I are kind of fighting right now."

Sam furrowed his eyebrows at her.

"It's a topic change." Alex shrugged.

He chuckled but took the bait. "What's your boyfriend's deal?"

"He thinks I'm wicked." She definitely had a mischevious gleam to her eye as she giggled.

"Are you?" Sam asked, good naturedly.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Alex flirted, noting the way Sam blushed when her phone rang. Reading the display she said, "It's your dad."

Sam sat up straighter as she had a short conversation with John, updating him on the boys then hanging up less than a minute later. Alex put her phone back in her coat, filling Sam in on the conversation before suggesting, "You should get some sleep. You look awful."

"I shouldn't leave Dean." Sam toyed with his coffee cup.

"He's a big boy, Sam." Alex could tell he wasn't going to leave his brother so she finished the rest of her coffee. Sliding a scrap of paper across the table, she said, "This is my number and the motel I'm staying at. Come get me if you need me."

The motel was cheap but it had a bed and a bathroom and that was all Alex cared about. She knew Castiel would be waiting inside for her and she wasn't disappointed. The blue eyed, dark haired angel was standing just inside the door. "You slept with John Winchester?"

"Hello to you too." Alex tossed her duffel bag on the floor and pulled her jacket off, letting it join her bag on the floor.

"Alexandria," Castiel started to lecture. "You are to leave the Winchesters alone. You know this."

"I don't want to talk about work." Alex bat her eyelashes at him and slid her hands up his chest, placing sloppy kisses up his neck to his ear. Tugging at the lobe with her teeth, she breathed, "I'm going to take a shower. Do you want to join me?"

Castiel groaned into her mouth when he kissed her, tangling his fingers into her long, black hair. Shuffling them into the bathroom, he said between kisses and shedding their clothes, "We will return to this subject later."

Then he slammed the bathroom door closed.
