Chapter Two

Decision-Making

Eevee

"Glass?" I uttered the word in disbelief.

I couldn't believe that my big sister, who was off on another adventure the last I checked, would be home right now, at such an important moment. At first I was happy, since I wouldn't have to spend the rest of my life without her. Yay! But then it dawned on me that if Glass was here when the PC was locked, she was locked in here as well! AAHHHHHH! Everyone knew that of all the Pokemon on her team, Glass was Eliza's favorite and Eliza never went on any adventure without her. Oh darn it!

"W-what are you doing here, Glass?" I stuttered.

"Eliza got a letter from home informing her that a suspicious figure was lurking around the mansion. Being the strongest Pokemon trainer in her family, she hurried home to protect it. She sent me in the PC so I could spend some time with you. But this is far from a friendly welcome..." Glass eyed the tenseness and panic of the Eeveelutions around the clearing. "Anyway, what happened here?" she asked with worried blue eyes.

"Um, we are sort of trapped in here and we can't get out again..." I answered nervously.

"WHAT?" Glass exclaimed, drawing the attention of several Pokemon around us. "Does that mean we'll never get out ever again?"

I winced at the crack in her normally calm composure and frantically searched for a suitable answer for her question. Thankfully Night answered for me because I honestly didn't know how to respond. "Yeah... unless we succeed at a quest or the council finds a quick solution." He said. I silently thanked him.

Soon Glass was summoned by the Council, who noticed her arrival, before the conversation could get more awkward. Glass is a council member, even though she is the youngest member in history, she was the most experienced at battling and at an insanely high level, and since power = respect in this world, it wasn't long before she became a council member. Still. Not fair! The Council then made a decision, and all the Eeveelutions and Pokemon gathered around the meeting place, where there was a huge stump, which was a stage large enough to fit the entire Council and more, and around it were special smooth rocks that were seats.

The messenger Eevee, now fully revived, scampered onto the stage and reported. "It appears that the key to the PC, which unlocks and locks the PC, has been stolen. Since a PC cannot operate unless the key is nearby, now this PC is now declared "broken" and won't let any more Pokemon in or out."

Oh rip, I thought in my mind.

"Thank you, Eevee. You may leave now. We of the council have reached a decision," announced Verdant, the oldest Council member, who was an ancient Eevee who completed a quest long ago and earned his name, "that a Eeveelution, accompanied by nine other Eeveelutions of his or her choice, will go out on a quest to find the key of the PC, which may be our only hope to get out of here, and bring it back here to save the PC box!"

"I have investigated the cord that connects the PC and it is still sturdy enough for us to send a group of Eeveelutions out that way but not for long, so whoever is picked must choose his or her team immediately and set out quicker than usual and will not receive the usual training." said Spark, who was a Jolteon council member and was skilled in areas of technology.

"Yes, Spark is right. Who will volunteer for this quest?" asked Ribbon, who was a Sylveon council member and had won lots of Pokemon contests.

"Eevee, son of Hydro and Violet, volunteers! Are there any other volunteers?" Nobody answered. "Well, Eevee it is then! Pick your Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon to go with you."

I glanced at my friends. They nodded. (Well, some of them nodded) "I pick Flare, Bubbles, Jolt, Wisp, Black, Leafia,-" I looked at Glacia and Glass. Who was going to be my Glaceon for this quest? I thought, Leafia would miss Glacia if we go without her, but Glass is the better fighter and can help us with battles, as I considered my options, weighing the pros and cons of each Glaceon. But time was running out and I had to decide quickly. "-Glass, and Nymph." I looked at Glacia and Leafia guiltily, but none of them defied my choice.

"Do these chosen Eeveelutions not want to go?" I was extremely nervous that one of them would speak up. But not one of my friends said no. I was very happy to have such great friends! "Well, say your goodbyes and be at the outlet in ten minutes!"

Once the Council had spoken, my friends rounded on me. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" they cried in unison. For a moment I thought that they spoke as one pokemon!

"Not only did you volunteer yourself, you volunteered us! For a life threatening quest that may be fatal! Where in the pokeworld did you get such ideas?" Night ranted.

"S-s-sorry! If you want to back out, feel free to do so!" I stammered.

"We will stick with you to the end, Eevee!" Leafia said kindly. "Even if you volunteer us for really dangerous quests. None of us would even dream of backing out." Night continued ranting in the background.

"What about Glacia?" I asked, "Won't you miss her?"

"Its okay, I'll be fine…" she replied, glancing at Glacia.

"I'll be fine as well," Glacia assured her sister. Those two siblings were really close! I never got a chance to actually know Glass, since I hardly ever got to see her. For a moment, I wished that Glass and I were as close as Leafia and Glacia.

"Okay then, thanks Leafia and Glacia! I'm going to say goodbye to Mom and Dad!" I rushed off. Mom and Dad said the usual parent stuff, like

Mom: Don't forget to floss!

Me: Mom, Eevees don't floss!

Dad: Take care of yourself!

Me: *mutters* Glass can do that…

Dad: Send a letter!

Me: Dad, PC boxes don't receive letters. Also, Pokemon can't write.

But as I made my way toward the outlet, I realized I was going to miss Mom and Dad. They were good parents, after all, even if they did worry too much, but didn't all parents?

My friends were waiting for me at the outlet when I arrived. I bounded toward them and dipped my head at the old Jolteon sitting by the outlet.

"Greetings Council Member Spark. Are we going to be leaving?"

"Yes, Eevee. Now listen to my instructions carefully unless you want to be injured on the way out. So there is a small hole in the outlet that you will go through. Inside is a small tunnel that will lead you out. Keep your paws tucked and don't touch anything in there, not even the walls unless you want to get badly zapped. Leave 5 minutes after each other. When you get outside, you will be on your own. Our research shows that the key has most likely been broken into small pieces and scattered throughout the regions by Poke War III. Your mission is to collect all the pieces of the key to the PC. They will be a rusted bronze color and you will feel a special connection to each piece. Put the pieces in this bag. Traveling through the regions can be dangerous and so take care of each other. Understand that Eevees are rare pokemon and poachers will be after you. Glass, take care of the young ones. I wish all of you best of luck on your journey!"

Spark handed me a small bag to put the pieces in and checked our personal bags which I had packed earlier. Mine contained some food rations, a water bottle, my favorite Eevee stuffed toy from when I was little, a blanket, and pokecoins, the currency in this world. Also I wore a locket, one side held a picture of my family, the other side had a picture of my friends. Spark also gave Glass a thick book of instructions or something which she put in her bag. Then we headed to the tunnel.

This is it.
