Chapter Three:

Outside PC, Into World!

Eevee

Spark organized who would go in what order. Jolt was first. "Here I goooooooo!" he hollered as he jumped into the tunnel. 5 minutes later Flare went. My turn was after Night. After he left and Spark gestured for me to go, I hopped in and tucked my paws like instructed. Then he pushed me down into the tunnel. It was like nothing I have ever seen.

The walls whooshed past me like I was going on a rollercoaster. They were striped yellow and black and so was the floor. It went in crazy loops and swirls, throwing me around as if I was a rag doll. The ride seemed to take forever and by the time I tumbled out I was sick to my stomach. I heaved myself out of the way of the mouth of the tunnel and flopped down next to my friends who were sitting to the side.

"Dizzy much?" asked Night sympathetically.

"Yes! I feel like throwing up!" I answered.

"Ick! Don't do it here!" said Leafia.

"You will feel better soon," comforted Flare.

"Where are we anyway?" I asked as soon as the world stopped spinning. I sat in a grassy field and next to me was a brick wall. Imbedded in it was a tiny hole as big as a human's fingernail. There was a forest across the field but the brick wall stretched onward quite a distance before stopping. The scenery wasn't that different from the PC minus the brick wall, but there was a scent in the air that I couldn't place, and the grass felt different, like more fuzzier, greener, grassier, more real or something.

"Well, sir, you are now outside the PC! Remember what the real world feels like?" joked Jolt. Come to think of it, I did recall the same scent in the air from the times Eliza came to visit us and we got to go out.

"And that hole in the wall is where you came out from the PC." said Night, "Can you believe that you came out of that tiny a hole?"

"Whoa!" I exclaimed, looking at the hole with more interest now. "The tunnel is in that?" As I watched, Glass tumbled out of the hole, doing a few somersaults before coming to a complete stop. My tail spiked at the unreal sight of my sister coming out of a solid wall. If I didn't believe Night before, I sure believed him now!

"Ugh, I feel dizzy…." Glass complained as she dragged herself over to the side where we were sitting.

"I am all too familiar with that feeling, Glass." I said.

"You will adjust soon." said Flare.

Half an hour later all of our group arrived, with Bubbles being the last one. Once he recovered from the dizziness we set off. Glass checked the huge book and declared that we should go to Blaire Town in the forest, since that was a pokemon town, operated by pokemon only so we would have an easier time. It was relatively close so it shouldn't take that much time to hike there. Soon we were in the forest.

"I'm tired…." complained Jolt.

"Wow, that fast? We have only been hiking for thirty minutes!" asked Glass.

"Yeah, not all of us get daily exercise in the PC." cut in Night.

"You could have run." replied Glass.

"Humph, I get plenty of exercise! I play in the afternoon!" retorted Jolt.

"That doesn't prepare you for hiking through a forest for most of the day…" remarked Glass.

"I hate to admit it, but Glass is right. Most of us are woefully unprepared physically for this journey." remarked Wisp.

I was also feeling tired and spent. I wasn't used to this hardcore exercise.

"Fine. We can rest for a bit, if that is okay with you, Eevee?" Glass looked directly at me.

It took me a moment to realize that a rest break needed a quest leader's permission and that I was the leader. "Sure, it's alright." I replied, secretly relieved for a break. We found a clearing and collapsed on the grass. I watched out of the corner of my eye as Leafia went for a walk with Flare. I sleepily wondered if those two were crushing. It felt great to take a nap in the cool grass after working so hard, and I soon dozed off.

I woke to a sharp yell. "Look what Flare and I found!" Leafia exclaimed proudly. I shook off the last remnants of sleep and watched Flare tromp into the clearing with a bag full of pecha berries. Everyone was amazed and congratulated Flare and Leafia for finding so many berries.

"Wow!," I was impressed and knew that my job as quest leader was to encourage the fellow quest members. "Good job you two!"

"We have enough to share, don't we?" Leafia asked Flare.

"Yep! I think we do." answered Flare.

"Wait, why were you guys taking a walk anyway? I think we did enough walking today." remarked Nymph.

"Uhhhh, we were curious about our surroundings and decided to check it out. Right, Leafia?" replied Flare. Was it just me, or was Leafia blushing a little?

"Yeah, and anyway, if we didn't go exploring you wouldn't have any food right now!" said Leafia.

"Fair enough." cut in Bubbles. "Let's dig in!" We feasted on berries like a bunch of starving pokemon. I guess over-exercising can do that to you. The berries refreshed us and soon we were ready to go again.

"The village is not much further, gang! We are almost there!" Glass encouraged after looking at that big heavy guide book. The rest of the journey was spent in high spirits as we joked around all the way to town.
