Working in a school takes patience. A degree or two and to demonstrate that you can keep open communication with the people involved.

Most public schools are underfunded but they make due with what they have as best they can.

Usually it has its moments but can also be pretty boring sometimes stressful work.

Meetings with the staff and faculty members was always on schedule. A number of subjects to touch base with before lunch only to continue after.

The parents or guardians are often worse than their children but they usually mean well so it's understandable.

Some get a little too involved while others would rather not and yet there is an unspoken rule.

As long as the kids are doing all right and going pass on to the next year they won't make too much of a fuss.

Normally her classroom Karin tries to incorporated different sections of life skills into their lesson plan for the day everyday of the week.

Today was going to be a little different however. They were going to have a fun day. Deliberately outside of the normal schedule and for a just cause.

It had been Sasuke's idea. He had written a letter to the cafeteria staff, the principal and the children's parents.

Asking for the parent's permission but also to see if they would like to come and share in some school spirit. Support.

Giving them a list of the food that they would be having at the party, providing and a list of things that they could bring but it was not necessary.

Informing them that for the full day they would be combining their classes.

That it was nothing new since all of the children got along great in the playground and anywhere on campus really but that in their opinion, meaning Karin and himself that it sounded like a fun idea.

They had been absolutely delighted and he was honestly a little surprised by the turn out. Everyone showed up in costume.

It looks like a nerdfest in here and the children could not be happier.

Sasuke had come in with a top hat and gloves. A deck of cards, the whole shebang while she had come in looking like a poster child for Slytherin.

She came in with a wand, her make-up on point and everything just looked awesome in her homeroom because she had asked him and some of their friends to help them with the decorations.

Even having some of the art work and school projects the kids had done for both class the previous day on display.

It seems they hadn't been on the same page when it came to what magic they were going to stick with but it worked out fine because some people came dressed us fairies and others as warlocks.

Some even as anime, tv and movie characters because apparently they had some tie-ins with magic.

Karin had stopped on the current IEP she was reviewing when she heard he name being called.

Looking up some are computers saying. "What's up? You need something." When she didn't see anyone she assumed that the man was in the adjacent mini kitchen.

"The only thing we are out of is plates. I'm going to rush to the store. You need anything?" Sasuke walked out into the open while eating a cupcake and looking at the clock above him signaling that he had a few minutes before the children had to be picked up from recess.

"Not for the party. We have everything else covered. Can you buy some makers though, we're running low." She goes to reach for he purse but he stops her saying. "You're good, I'll be back."

By the time he leaves she has opened boxes and bags of different snacks, handed out what little plates she found in a drawer above the microwave then juice boxes for the kids and soda for the adults.

Giving them all a cupcake, passing out napkins then sitting down to finish her work she was almost done. Ready to save for her records then submit it when she hears knocking on the door.

Some of the parents offer to help Sasuke carry the bags inside and even sort out the contents. By the time she is done she takes a seat enjoying the movie because she had not seen it before.

Is mildly surprised to see that it's educational, lighthearted and talking about the power of friendship but still managing to be entertaining.

Sasuke adds food to the fishtank before turning to face the parents. Making conversation about the progress that the children are making and some upcoming projects for the spring break.

Afterwards they work on some simple math and make a game out of reading asking the children and parents if they've ever heard of popcorn reading.

Only this time they were also receiving bags of popcorn to make it a little more fun, calling it an incentive.

They take some pictures with both the parents and students then email some to the principal so that he can see how great this turned out, is.

Today the kids are all sent home without homework, with a cheer of celebration from the students.

The parents okay with that decision because one day wouldn't hurt, they could all use a day to relax.

Having most of them even negotiated a talk for a sit down meeting at the next PTA to praise how awesome this day turned out and asking if they would like to plan future events.

They leave because they bell rang to let them know that the school day is over. Now that the classroom is mostly picked up and the leftover food is either given to the people who want it or they are leaving it in the fridge for breakfast.

Karin and Sasuke take a seat waiting in the classroom for traffic to subside. "You want some?" She hands over a bag of popcorn as she says.

"Today was great, thanks for the help." And he smiles saying that without her this could have been a disaster.

Adding to it something that he has been trying to do for a while now. "You want to go grab some lunch?" He looks at her only to see her nodding as she chews her popcorn.

Part two: Naruto and Hinata- Restaurant AU

"I'm so dead." Hinata looks at the other cooks frantically then the burnt food on the stove just wishing she had followed her gut like she had planned and called in sick so that she could have had a day off.

Naruto walked by looking at the food. Knowing that if he had the option that he would eat it but that he's running short on time. That it is to the left field when thinking that this would be restaurant ready.

"It doesn't look that bad. We have to throw it away though and come up with a quicker version of the dish because the table has been waiting for half an hour now but cheer up, okay. We have got this."

He has a look to himself that is just inspiring and she thinks that can finish the job with time to spare if she gets a hold of the situation now.

Walking up to the sink and grabbing a new pan and spatula she walks over to the stove.

"You are going to help me?" Hinata looks at him surprised and he offers a sunny smile then a thumbs up in further reassurance.

His voice showing clear determination.

"Of course. We all are so just grab a spatula, oh cool you've got one and try peeling the food off. You know what your idea is better just leave it in the sink."

He starts pulling out ingredients from the fridge and grabs a knife after washing his hands and rinsing the vegetables to begin chopping them.

As the rest of the group walks past the kitchen doors offering a free appetizer to the table. Then go off to give the waiters a heads up.

She kisses his cheek then hurries off to set the food onto the plates.

Finally delivering the food and getting ready to start on the next number of dishes he blushed a little and picked up the ticket for the next customer.

Hinata removes her keys from the rack and takes off her apron. Saying bye for the night to the rest of the employees because her shift is over.

Only for Naruto to stop her from going home by asking her out for some drinks and food since his shift ended too.

"Let's go then, I know some nice places." After a few hours of talking about family, news even sports. Learning that today was National fries day, to boot. He is walking her up to her doorstep.

"Thanks for tonight, it was fun." She smiles at him and he returns it just as brightly.

Knowing that they have to do this again.
