Chapter One: The Morning After – With Blair
Blair woke up in her bed. Her head was pounding from the after effects of last night's events. She groaned as she remembered how Serena had begged her to not leave for France. Once agreeing to stay she had spent the night raiding her mother's liquor cabinet and sinking slowly into an alcohol induced coma. No way did she want to go back to school today and face the scorn of her fellow classmates and ex friends, if you wanted to call them that.
She glanced over at the alarm clock. It read 7:30am. School was due to start in two hours so she would have to face the music pretty soon. She could always pretend that she was sick but that would make her return even more horrible. Everyone already thought she had left thanks to Gossip Girl; she didn't need people thinking that she had come back from France instead of just deciding not to go.
She pulled herself out of the warm sheets and slipped her feet into her soft, fleece slippers. Padding over to her vanity she looked at herself critically in the mirror. Her hair was a mess, she had drool crusted on the side of her face, and she was sure she looked as though she had gained a few pounds.
She walked over to her bathroom. After turning on the shower she shed the clothes she had passed out in last night and stepped into the warm water. The water gently massaging her, she thoroughly drenched her hair. Taking her favourite shampoo, she poured some into her hand and began to lather it into her wavy brunette hair. She methodically rinsed her hair until all traces of the shampoo had dissipated. Blair then picked up the bottle of conditioner and ran it through her hair. Waiting a few minutes for it to penetrate, she then washed it out. Picking up a peach shower puff, she poured some papaya body wash onto it and scrubbed her entire body until she felt thoroughly clean. Turning off the shower, she grabbed a large, fluffy, white towel and wrapped it around her body. She placed a smaller towel around her hair and stepped out of the bathroom.
Walking to her closet, Blair eyed the clothing hanging there critically. Did it really matter how she looked now? Being a social outcast she knew she would be ignored and criticized anyways so what would it matter how she dressed? Still indecisive, she pulled several tops out of her closet. She held them up to herself then looked in the mirror. Nothing seemed to appeal to her today.
She called for Dorota. Once Dorota reached the room Blair pointed to her closet and upon noticing that she was currently wearing a towel, Dorota knew exactly what was required. She pulled several articles of clothing from the closet and handed them to Blair. Upon receiving them, Blair smiled and went over to her dressing area to change. From behind the screen she tossed the towel she was wearing and pulled on her clothes. Walking over to her full length mirror she analyzed her appearance critically.
Once she was fully satisfied, she walked out of her room, pulled on her black Jimmy Choo peep-toe pumps and walked out of her building to face what would be one of the hardest days of her life.
