Hello again, I'm back, with a brand new story, it has been a really long time since I uploaded anything on February, ever since 2017, my first fanfic of each year was usual published in April, but now, here I have another parody, inspired by Steven Spielberg's 1985 film, 'The Goonies'.
It was a normal Friday Afternoon inside the Canterlot City Zoo, Zookeepers were entering habitats to feed the animals inside.
One Zookeeper entered the gorilla habitat, ready to feed them.
He looked around, only to find out they were not present, his eyes widened.
" Not again", he said, he then talked through his walkie talkie.
" Alert, the gorillas have escaped from their habitat again, both of them, I repeat, the gorilla's have escaped again", said the Zookeeper.
Meanwhile, dozens of Zookeepers, armed with tranquillizers began scouring the entire zoo, checking every nook and cranny, hoping at least one of the escaped gorillas is still inside, but little did any of them know, both gorillas were already outside of the zoo.
The gorillas approached the parking lot, and looked around for a vehicle to get away, last time, they used golf cart, and that was useless, the zookeepers caught up with them instantly because of their slow getaway vehicle.
Looking around, they managed to find a nice car, and noticed the keys were still in.
Smashing the windows, the gorillas got into the car, switched the key in the ignition, starting the car, and once the foot was slammed on the accelerator, the car took off.
One of the Zookeepers looked and discovered that they were getting away, and alerted the others.
The gorillas drove as fast as they could, over 75 miles an hour.
Little did they know, they were approaching a police car.
The one behind the wheel was on lookout, while his partner was on the radio, trying to look for a station with a good song.
" Can you focus please, this is serious police business, not some 80s film", said the driver.
" Lighten up, we've been here for 6 hours already, and nothing has happened, in fact, our shift down here has already ended a couple of hours ago, shouldn't we be headed back to the station, since we're no longer on duty", said the partner.
It was then, a speeding car drove past them, and took off down the road.
" What the heck", said the driver, after realizing the vehicle went over the speed limit, he switched on the lights and siren, and made chase with the speeding vehicle.
" Should we call for backup", said his partner.
" Negative, this might just be a speeding problem, if the driver doesn't pull over, then we'll take drastic actions", said the first cop.
" 291, 292, 293, 294, 295...", an athlete counted as she kicked the soccer ball in the air, keeping it from touching the ground, she is well known for her athletic skills, and more importantly, her Rainbow colored hair, Rainbow Dash.
"... 296, 297, 298, 299, 300", she sighed in relief as she reached her goal, and gave the ball one huge kick, causing it to land in the net.
" Way to go Rainbow Dash", cheered a girl from near the bleaches, a girl with short purple hair, Rainbow Dashes idol, Scootaloo.
" It was nothing, next I'm going to go for 400", said Rainbow Dash as she ran back for the ball, both her and Scootaloo completely oblivious to the police chase nearby.
" This is the Canterlot Police, pull over now", one cop warned through a speaker, while his partner was behind the wheel, keeping behind the speeding vehicle, but the vehicle would not stop.
" I repeat, pull over, or we will take drastic actions", said the cop.
After seeing that the speeding vehicle still won't stop, the two cops turned to each other.
" Clearly it's a drunk driver or a junkie or something", said the driving cop.
And so, the other cop switched his speaker to the other cops, " I'm going to need some backup, right away".
Inside a building, known to be a boutique, a young woman with marshmallow colored skin, and purple hair, Rarity, was sitting on a bench, in front of a drawing board and was doing some designs on the new outfits she was planning, while her younger sister Sweetie Belle was on her phone, watching some videos, as soon as the video was showing a police chase after a drunk driver, Rarity was getting annoyed.
" Sweetie Belle, darling, do you mind turning that down for a bit, I'm losing my concentration", said Rarity.
And so, Sweetie Belle turned her volume down, and as she did that, the joyride car, and police cars drove past them.
" Sweetie Belle, I said turn the volume down, not up", said Rarity.
" But I just did", said Sweetie Belle.
Nearly half a dozen police cars began to surround the joyride vehicle.
" This guy can't seem to give up", said the cop on shotgun.
" Good, it'd be boring if we got him too easily, and I love a real challenge", said the driving cop.
" Well, shame your challenge will end very soon, backup is here", said the partner.
" And this guy is still not stopping, 20 bucks say he's a nutcase", said the driver.
" I feel sorry for anyone having to cross the street", said the partner.
" They'll hear the siren, it's not like they won't be warned, if they get hit it's their fault", said the driver.
Outside of a train station, a young girl stepped out, after a long exhausting 6 hour train ride from her home city of Manehattan, she can finally stretch, she has short red hair, her name is Babs Seed.
" Okay, so Applebloom texted me saying to meet her at the school, I should know where that is", said Babs Seed, referring to her cousin.
She stood on the side of the road, and looked at the traffic lights.
Eventually, the light turned red, and the cars began to stop.
Once it was okay for her to cross, she began to walk across the street, on the pedestrian crossing.
However, as she was halfway on the street, a car drove by, at 50 miles an hour, almost hitting Babs Seed in the process.
" Woah", she yelped in shock, and then another car, a police car also drove by, same speed, also nearly hitting her.
" Hey, the light is still red, this place is crazy, and I thought Manehattan had a traffic problem", said Babs Seed as she began running out of the street, in case any more cars came.
" Do you mind, you nearly ran over a kid back there, and she was on a pedestrian crossing", said the partner.
" Our drunk driver friend has a much better chance of running the kid over than we do", said the driver.
" I feel awful because we just ran past a few red lights", said the partner.
" Don't worry about it, as long as you have that badge, you're above the law", said the driver.
" Well at least be careful with your driving, even if we are above the law, we're not invincible from death", said the partner.
Meanwhile, in an animal shelter, a young girl, with buttercream skin and light pink hair was tending to all the animals there, who were all calm and relaxed by the sound of her delicate soft voice.
" Aww, are you all so tired, poor things, today was a really tiring day", said Fluttershy as she helped groomed one of the puppies, as they all began to drift off to sleep.
And then, the joyride vehicle and cop cars drove nearby, the engines so loud it would've woken anyone up.
All the puppies woke up as they all heard the engines and began barking.
" Oh my, everyone please calm down", Fluttershy said, trying to calm the puppies.
" Okay, it seems there has been report of two gorillas escaping from the Canterlot Zoo, quite recently", said the partner.
" We don't have time for that, we've already got two problems to deal with in that vehicle, and whoever they are, are certainly causing chaos in the city, making a pair of monkeys out of themselves", said the driver.
" Hey look, an old woman is getting mugged by a bunch of skin head", said the partner, pointing out the window.
" Since when has that become my problem", said the driver.
In a diner called the Sweet Snacks Cafe, another pink haired girl, Pinkie Pie, with a much poofier hair, and a darker shade of pink compared to Fluttershy's hair, and pink skin was skating around the diner, where she worked at, as she was about to take another order, she discovered the police chase through the window.
" Hey guys, look, a police chase", said Pinkie Pie.
Most people gathered around the window, absolutely surprised, as there was rarely something as interesting as a police chase in Canterlot City.
" There must've been a robbery nearby", said one customer.
" I could've sworn I saw a pair of monkeys, or apes, or any jungle animal in the getaway car", said the second customer.
" That's just racist", responded the third customer.
As Pinkie Pie was watching, she was holding onto a large glass containing a chocolate milkshake, unfortunately, she lost footing, and fell backwards, landing on her butt, she wasn't hurt, but she landed, the chocolate milkshake spilled out of the glass, drenching her.
" Son of a gun", cursed Pinkie Pie.
" Can't we just shoot the tires, clearly this guy ain't stopping, and is likely even a danger to himself", said the partner.
" Alright, fine, but only at the tires", said the drivers.
Meanwhile the two gorillas were looking at the mirror view, and notice an arm sticking out of one of the cop cars, holding a gun, aiming towards them.
The gorilla behind the wheel made a sharp turn, off the road, into the forest, while the police cars gave chase.
" Okay, maybe whoever this guy is, isn't drunk, otherwise, he wouldn't have seen my gun aiming at them", said the partner as he placed his arm back inside the car.
" That, or they've finally lost control of the steering, I hope they crash, that way the chase is over", said the driver.
" I thought you said you love a challenge", said the partner.
" Well, yeah, but I didn't expect it to last that long", said the driver.
" Since they're no longer on the road, there'll be logs and rocks that should block them", said the partner.
" So that means we finally got them", said the driver.
Meanwhile, at the carpark of a school known as Canterlot High School, or CHS for short, a truck was pulling up, inside were two girls, the one behind the wheel was slightly older, with blonde hair, and has a Stetson on her head, Applejack, while her younger sister, Applebloom was next to her.
" So we'll meet Babs at the statue", said Applejack.
" Yeah, I texted her that, she should already be out of the train station and on her way here", said Applebloom.
" Well, can you text that'll she'll probably have to wait at the front for another 5-10 minutes, there's something I gotta do, that might take some time, it might now be long, we might be done before Babs arrives, but text her just in case", said Applejack.
As they drove past the school, Applebloom looked at the entrance sadly, Applejack noticed.
" I'm gonna miss this place too sugarcube", said Applejack.
" I just don't know what went wrong, almost ago, we were doing fine, and now we're in a huge debt, one that we can't pay off", said Applebloom.
" Well, you know how it is, rise in prices, and bills, couldn't afford it anymore", said Applejack.
" And it's now gotten to the point where we have no choice but to sell our farm tomorrow", said Applebloom.
Inside the school, two students were walking down a large hallway, filled with green lockers, one of them, Sunset Shimmer is more known for her reputation than her red and yellow striped hair, while the other, Twilight Sparkle, also known as Sci-Twi is less known for wearing glasses, but more known for being a former student to a rival school, before transferring to CHS.
Next to them, they were walking with their Principal, Celestia.
" I can't thank thank you two enough for volunteering to out with dealing with the storage, that storage room has been filling up", said Celestia.
Sunset, Twilight and Celestia searched around to uncover bits of old junk, when Sunset noticed something.
" Hey, what's this", said Sunset, holding an old scroll.
" I don't know, my guess is, they came before I came here", said Celestia.
Sunset opened the scroll, showing a set of symbols.
" It must be an old message", said Sunset.
" Don't know what it says, I don't recognize the symbols, it can't be Egyptian hieroglyphs", said Twilight.
" And it ain't familiar with any language in Equestria either", said Sunset.
" But what's that", said Twilight, pointing at a small piece of writing at the bottom of the scroll.
Skull = F.
Sunset looked through the pages, seeing many symbols being skulls.
" I think a clue has been given out, Principal Celestia, do you mind if I borrow this", said Sunset, showing the scroll.
" You can keep it if you want, I'm trying to get rid of all this other stuff", said Celestia.
Applejack and Applebloom parked near the front of the school, and waited for Babs.
" Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo are also meeting us here, they shouldn't be too long", said Applebloom.
And right as she said that, a car pulled up, and both Rarity and Sweetie Belle stepped out.
" Hey darlings, sorry, but I have no time to chat, I have to hand something to the principals office", said Rarity.
" Do you want me to tag along with you", said Applejack.
" Why sure, Sweetie Belle, do you mind waiting out here with Applebloom", said Rarity.
" I don't mind at all", said Sweetie Belle.
As Rarity and Applejack went inside, Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo arrived.
" What are you two standing around for", said Scootaloo, " This is our final day together, we should be going to places like the movies, or bowling, or even a carnival if there is one", said Scootaloo.
" No offence Scootaloo, but I'm not in the nude", said Applebloom, accidently having a slip of the tongue moment.
" Don't you mean, not in the 'mood'", said Sweetie Belle.
" That's what I said", said Applebloom, denying her mistake.
" Well we got to do something, let's go to the movies at least", said Scootaloo.
" Scootaloo, there aren't any decent films on lately that we haven't seen", said Applebloom.
" Have you guys heard on the news about those recent muggings in Manehattan", said Sweetie Belle.
" Those are always mentioned, and they keep getting worse every week, 200 cases last week, 250 cases this week, I actually witnessed one outside my window, it was crazy", said Babs Seed.
" Well then you should also know about the rise in homicides", said Scootaloo.
" Yeah, I honestly don't know what gave any of you the idea of moving there, if anything, I'm the one who should be considering moving out of Manehattan to here", said Babs Seed.
" I'm worried for Applebloom, hopefully she doesn't become a victim when she moves there on Sunday", said Sweetie Belle.
" Don't talk about that Sweetie Belle, it won't happen, because I won't be living in Manehattan, Applejack will able to sort the whole thing out", said Applebloom.
" Sure she will", said Rainbow Dash, " Selling apples for 50 cents each, she'll be able to sell over a hundred thousand apples by tomorrow afternoon", said Rainbow Dash.
" Don't be sarcastic Rainbow Dash, all I'm saying is it won't happen", said Applebloom.
" Changing the subject, have you hear about that police chase recently", said Rainbow Dash.
" It was on breaking news on the radio", said Applebloom.
" Yeah, I nearly got ran over because of that", said Babs Seed.
" Yeah, didn't they also mention something about a couple of gorillas escaping the zoo or something", said Scootaloo.
Sunset and Twilight looked through the scroll.
" There are 26 symbols used this message, and if the letter F is a skull, unfortunately, we can only deduce so little with that kind of info", said Twilight, writing down on her journal, dashes matching the symbols on the scroll, and writing F's on the lines that correspond to the Skull symbols on the scroll.
" So that leaves us with 25 symbols, and if you look at it, each set of symbols has a gap between them, like spaces between words, and there are sets with one symbol, one with a bird and one with an eye, my guess it those are single letter words, like A, or I", said Sunset.
She then looks at one of the sets, which had two symbols, an eye and a skull.
" The skull if F, and the only two letter word I can think of that has F as the letter letter is 'IF', so that means Eye is I, and the bird is A", said Sunset.
" That's very good, so, that leaves us with 23 symbols to fill out", said Twilight.
" Wait, one of the words is nearly filled out, F, A, I, blank, and it's a four letter word, the only word I can think of is fail", said Sunset.
" And the blank space has the symbol of a mountain, so mountain is L", said Twilight, filling in some of the gaps.
Soon, they begin to fill in more letters, like M, Y and W.
" Blank, Blank, W, Blank, Fall", said Sunset, gesturing to one of the words.
" Okay, that word has to be Downfall, which means we figured out the symbols for D, N and O", said Twilight.
" Excellent, so that leaves us with 17 more symbols to figure out, now that we've figured out the difficult parts, it get's easier", said Sunset.
" Please, it's like solving a jigsaw puzzle, I could do this in my sleep", said Twilight.
" I still wonder where this came from", said Sunset.
" Maybe it was made to be one of those puzzles, as an after class activity, I guess they forgot to make copies to have sent to the students", said Twilight.
And so, they began to fill in the symbols for U, K and R.
" And that missing letter in the word 'information' is T", said Twilight, filling in the symbols for T.
" And the four letter word, spelling T,O,M, and a missing letter, it has to be B, to spell TOMB", said Sunset, filling in the symbol for B.
" Okay, most of the words are completely shown, at this rate, we should be able to finish this", said Twilight.
It was then Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applebloom, Babs Seed, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo arrived.
" Oh hey guys, what's up", said Sunset.
" I was just getting these girls ready for their sleep over, since tonight is our last night in Sweet Apple Acres, we might as well make the most of it, what about you, I thought we had no homework to do this weekend", said Applejack.
" Oh this is just something I found in the school storage room, Twilight and I were helping clear things out, I think it's an old activity sheet, we're nearly finished, just a couple more letters to go through, and that's it", said Sunset.
After going through the last of the symbols, Sunset read the message.
To those who dare enter my tomb will face a deadly fate beyond the caves, journey through my labyrinth, solve my riddles and challenges, if you succeed, you will be rewarded kindly, fail, and you will suffer the consequences, I am Priest Tokamak, and I have the information, regarding the entrance to my tomb, I will have taken it to my grave, but do not take my warning for granted, your downfall would happen when you would least expect it to, and beware, once you enter my maze, there is no turning back.
" What's that all about", said Rarity.
" And who is this 'Priest Tokamak'", said Rainbow Dash.
" Hang on, I think I heard of something like this before", said Applebloom.
" You do", said Scootaloo.
" Yeah, remember, in history class, we were learning about Aztec's last month, about the Spanish Inquisition invading the villages, and killing most, if not all the natives", said Applebloom.
" I think you mean Spanish Conquest", said Applejack.
" That's what I said, didn't I", said Applebloom.
" No, you said Inquisition, not Conquest", said Applejack.
" What's the difference, nobody expected the Spanish Conquest either", said Applebloom.
" We're getting a bit off topic", said Twilight.
" Oh, right, anyway, there was this one Priest, Tokamak, who was among some who escaped the colonizers with a very sacred heirloom, worth a fortune, as well as other treasures like gold coins, and gems he along with a few surviving natives fled their land, before arriving at this land, by then, he was dying, but with the help of his native friends, they stored the treasure in a secure cave, made it his tomb, and blocked all the possible entrances, kept it well hidden, and has even place booty traps", said Applebloom.
" Booby traps", said Sunset, correcting Applebloom.
" That's what I said didn't I, anyways, he set them out, as well as riddles all over the tomb so that no one will steal it", said Applebloom.
" So how did that story get out", said Applejack.
" I don't know, but I bet Tokamak was the one who made that scroll, he probably didn't want some random fool getting their hands on it, or maybe he knew in the future someone else would take, and set the obstacles so that whoever gets the treasure will have to earn it", said Applebloom.
" She does have a point, I mean, we still don't entirely know where this scroll came from, had anyone even tried looking for the treasure", said Sunset.
" Many, but there was this one famous explorer, Nigel Bellsworth, he claimed to have discovered the entrance to the tomb, but he didn't reveal where, and what's worse, he vanished from sight", said Rarity.
" You know what this could mean, if we found the treasure, we won't have to leave Sweet Apple Acres", said Applebloom.
" Nobody has found the treasure Applebloom, anyway, why would this scroll be kept in a school's storage room, when it could've been stored in some safety depository", said Applejack.
" She's right, I mean, if Nigel Bellsworth hadn't found it, what makes you sure we will", said Rarity.
" I mean what if we do, if we find it, we won't have to sell Sweet Apple Acres", said Applebloom.
" Not happening, I've been on too many life threatening adventures for one life time", said Applejack.
" I agree, and to be honest, even if agree to look for that treasure, we still don't know where to look", said Rarity.
" Oh come on girls, lighten up, I mean, compared to all the other stuff we've gone through, how bad could this one be", said Rainbow Dash.
" Would you shut up Rainbow Dash, don't encourage them", said Rarity.
" Anyway, it is getting a bit late, and we really should be heading home, come on girls", said Applejack, before leading everyone out the library, while Applebloom remained as Twilight and Sunset packed up.
Applebloom looked at the journal, and while the two older girls weren't looking, she snatched the journal, and stuffed it in her pocket.
" Bye Twilight, Bye Sunset", said Applebloom.
" See you tomorrow Applebloom", said Sunset as she and Twilight watched Applebloom leave the library.
