Hello once again, and here is chapter four of Equestria Girls Never Say Die, enjoy.
" You idiots", groaned Spoiled Rich, holding her head in pain, " What are you trying to do, give me a migraine".
" We have no idea what you're talking about", said Flim, keeping his phone in his pocket, while he and his brother Flam, tried to act innocent.
" Do I look like I was born Yesterday", said Spoiled Rich, glaring at Flim, " You held your phone at my ear, and played a loud clip of firing turrets".
Meanwhile.
" Why did you all talk me into coming here", said Rarity, starting to panic, as the group continued walking down the caves.
" Calm down Rarity", said Applejack.
" I'm too pretty to die, I mean, at least when I grow old, I'll look better than him", said Rarity, pointing at a random area, only for her to shriek in realization of where she was pointing at.
The rest of the girls turned to where Rarity was pointing at, and they all shrieked in terror as they saw a skeleton laying on the ground, crushed by a giant boulder.
" Oh my goodness", cried Fluttershy, covering her mouth.
" I think I'm going to be sick", said Sweetie Belle.
" Who is that", said Pinkie Pie.
" I don't know, and I really don't care either, but I want to get out of here", cried Rarity as she looked away from the corpse.
" Is that Nigel Bellsworth", said Twilight.
" Who", said Scootaloo.
" Don't you remember, the explorer who went missing, claimed he found the entrance to the tomb about 200 years ago, but was never seen since", said Twilight.
" Check the bag", said Sunset, seeing and old bag next to the skeleton.
" Why", said Pinkie Pie.
" His wallet might be in it, meaning hopefully, his ID is still in tact, that way we'll be able to find out who he is", said Sunset.
" I'm not touching anything", said Rarity.
" I'll do it", said Rainbow Dash, grabbing the bag, and looking through it, she found the wallet, and opened it, turning it to face the others, showing the ID, revealing the name...
… Nigel Bellsworth.
" It's him alright", said Rainbow Dash.
" Oh great, now we're in for it", said Applejack, " I mean, Nigel is supposed to be an expert in this sort of thing, more than any of us put together, and yet he got himself killed".
" And what's even more sad, is that these dollar bills I found are very old and torn, unusable", said Rainbow Dash.
" Really Rainbow Dash", said Twilight, raising her eyebrow from Rainbow Dashes idea to try and steal money from a corpse.
" What, he's dead, it's not like he's going to spend it", said Rainbow Dash.
" Hey, I found something else", said Rainbow Dash, pulling out what was revealed to be another key, this one has a ruby gem on it, and is taller than the first key they got, with the emerald gem.
" He must've found it nearby", said Applebloom.
" Do you recon that's how he died, taking the key must've triggered a booby trap, causing the rock to fall on him", said Scootaloo.
" Is there anything else in the bag", said Twilight.
" Nothing but this", said Rainbow Dash, holding out a small pendant.
" I'm not if that could be helpful, but we'll keep it, just in case", said Twilight.
" And also, these", said Rainbow Dash, holding over a dozen red sticks.
" What are they", said Twilight.
" I think their candles", said Fluttershy.
" Well, these are at least", said Applejack, snatching some of the stick, showing them to the group, " The rest are dynamite".
" Dynamite, Rainbow Dash, get rid of those", said Rarity.
" Relax, I have a better idea", said Rainbow Dash, heading back towards where they entered.
" I'm going to set some booty traps myself", she said.
" Don't you mean booby traps", said Twilight.
" Yeah, that's what I said, booby traps", said Rainbow Dash.
" That's actually not a bad idea", said Twilight.
" Wait, what", said Applejack.
" I mean, at least if those armed creeps were following us, we'll know about it", said Twilight.
As Rainbow Dash began setting the dynamite around, Pinkie Pie noticed a bit of string on the ground.
" I think I've found something else", said Pinkie Pie.
" What is it", said Babs Seed.
" I don't know, some kind of thread", said Pinkie Pie, picking up the thread, only for a strange sound to be heard, like as if a lever had been pulled.
" Oh crap, nobody move", said Sunset, she then called out to Rainbow Dash, " Rainbow Dash, don't move, a booby trap had been triggered".
Everyone kept perfectly still, until Sweetie Belle looked up, and saw half a dozen boulders hanging from above.
" You guys", said Sweetie Belle, pointing upward.
As soon as they all saw the boulders, one dropped, right next to Rainbow Dash, luckily, she wasn't hurt.
" Forget what I said, run", shouted Sunset.
And so, each of the girls began running as they are to avoid the falling boulders.
" I see another tunnel", said Twilight, pointing towards a small opening ahead of them.
" Quickly, everyone in", said Sunset.
And so, everyone made it into the small tunnel, just as the last of the boulders landed onto the ground.
They all turned back, to see Nigel Bellsworth's skeleton still in tact, but still having it's original boulder on top.
" And to think any of us could've had the same fate as him", said Pinkie Pie, she then turned to see everyone glaring at her, " What".
" From now on, don't touch anything", said Sunset.
" What about the ground, does that mean I can't touch the ground", said Pinkie Pie, as she tried jumping up to keep herself off the ground, Sunset sighed in frustration.
" For some reason, I knew she was going to say that", said Sunset.
" Pinkie Pie, she means, that if you see anything suspicious, don't touch it, also watch your steps, for all we know, Tokamak might have placed pressure plates on the ground", said Rainbow Dash, " I've played Minecraft enough times to know how sandstone pressure plates are legit well camouflaged on sandstone blocks, or sand".
" I think I hear something down there", said Twilight, pointing onward, showing a small cave, blocked by a large rock.
" Maybe it's a way out", said Fluttershy.
" Maybe it's another key", said Rarity.
" Maybe it's the creeps", said Spike.
" Maybe our parents found out where we are", said Rainbow Dash.
" Or Maybe it's another one of Tokamak's booby traps", said Scootaloo.
Applejack then grabbed onto the boulder and began lifting it.
" Applejack, surely there's a reason why that boulder is there in the first place", said Rarity.
Once Applejack had moved the boulder out of the way, revealing an entrance into another cave, Twilight then used her flashlight to shine into the cave.
It was then, a huge flock of bats began to fly out of the cave, surrounding the girls.
" Not this again, bats", screamed Applejack as she tried swatting the bats.
" They're all over my hair", cried Sweetie Belle.
" AAAHHH, RABIES", screamed Rarity, dramatically.
" Down, down, sit, sit", Rainbow Dash yelped, while placing both her index fingers together to make a cross.
" Stop the bats, stop the bats, make them go and not come back", Pinkie Pie went.
" I just don't get it, they should all still be in here, we've searched every inch, every edge, every corner of this cave, but we still haven't seen them, it's as if they just disappeared", said Spoiled, as she, Cinch, Flim and Flam are still inside the mineshaft.
" And the truck, and their bikes are still outside, so it's not like they just slipped past us and took off, even if they did, they could've taken the vehicle and bikes with them instead of leaving them behind, I mean it makes sense if they left the truck behind supposing it ran out of fuel, but bicycles don't run on gasoline, and those bikes look fine, no flat tire, no damaged gears, nothing, so they would have no reason to leave them behind", said Cinch.
It wasn't until a flock of bats appeared all of a sudden, and began to fly at them, they all shrieked as they tried fighting off the vermin.
It wasn't long until all the bats are gone, having flown away from the group, Rarity was still shaken up by the event.
" One thing I won't miss about Sweet Apple Acres, is having to put up with them filthy vermin", said Applejack.
" Is everyone alright", said Sunset.
" No, I am not, I am filthy, covered in dirt, nearly got crushed to death by a boulder, and quite recently got attacked by a swarm of bats, probably caught rabies, and they ruined my hairdo, which I had just got done yesterday", complained Rarity.
" Okay, so Rarity's fine, everyone else", said Sunset.
" Why, I never", scoffed Rarity.
" Yeah I'm fine", said Applejack.
" Me too", said Rainbow Dash.
" I'm a little shook up, but I'll live", said Fluttershy, everyone else, other than Rarity, also said that they were fine.
Twilight then shined her flashlight back into the cave, and then notices something deep inside.
" I can see something in there", said Twilight.
" I can too, rocks", said Pinkie Pie.
" No, I meant, something unusual, it's sorta shiny, like gold", said Twilight.
She then went into the cave, hoping to investigate, only to stop halfway.
" Do you guys hear that", said Twilight.
" Hear what", said Spike.
" Sounds like water", said Twilight.
And so, they kept running, getting closer towards the source of the sound.
Everyone looked in awe as they saw what was before them.
" That is so beautiful", said Fluttershy, as she gazed at the waterfall, and the pool.
" It makes you want to bathe in it", said Rarity.
" And even better, look at all those coins", said Rainbow Dash, as she pointed at so many gold and silver coins scattered all over the cave.
" This must be it guys, the treasure we we're looking for", said Pinkie Pie.
" We've found it", said Sweetie Belle.
" Everyone dig in", said Rainbow Dash as they all got into the pool, and began grabbing handfuls of coins.
" There's so much of it", said Rarity.
" Hang on, Twilight, who was the first president", said Sweetie Belle.
" Oh, um, it's Washington, why do you ask", said Twilight.
" When was he elected", said Sweetie Belle.
" Somewhere in the 1700's I recon", said Sunset, Twilight nodded in agreement.
" And the Spanish conquest invaded in the 1600s", said Sweetie Belle.
" No, the 1500s", said Twilight, causing her eyes to widened as she realized what Sweetie Belle was onto.
" Tokamak died during that century, which is when he left the treasure, which was way before Washington became president", said Sweetie Belle, holding a coin showing Washington's face on it.
" You mean that's not the treasure we're looking for", said Pinkie Pie.
" But then, where did all these coins come from", said Rainbow Dash.
" Hey look up there", said Spike as he pointed upward, the others looked to see a small hole at the top of the cave.
" I think it's a wishing well", said Applejack.
" I didn't know we had a wishing well nearby", said Rarity.
" Apparently we do", said Sunset.
" I used to believe when you tossed a coin into a well, and make wish, it would come true", said Fluttershy.
" We can't take these, these are someone else's wishes, besides, that's only about a few hundred dollars worth of coins", said Twilight.
" Wait, so, if we're in a wishing well, then that means that's a way out", said Sweetie belle.
Applejack then finds a large metal pole.
" I'll tied this rope to the large metal pole here", said Applejack, as she did so, she continued, " And I'll swing it up to the top of the well".
And once the rope is tied up, Applejack began to swing the rope, and then flung it up until its out of the well, and laying securely on top so it won't fall back in.
" I'll go up first, and once I tie the rope to a more secure area, I'll pull the rest of you up one by one", said Applejack.
" Hey", said Rarity, " I think I found something", said Rarity as she submerged into the water, grabbing what she found and pulled it out of the water as she burst her head out as well.
" Another key", said Applebloom.
" Yes, with a sapphire gem", said Rarity.
" Hang on a second", said Applebloom as she held the sapphire key, then the ruby key and emerald key.
" The ruby key and sapphire key are the same size, but why is the emerald key shorter", said Applebloom.
" I'm not sure darling", said Rarity.
" But one things for certain, we got these keys very easy, unlike Nigel Bellsworth, when he got crushed to death by a boulder trying to get one of them", said Rainbow Dash.
" Wait a minute, Nigel Bellsworth", said Applebloom.
" What about him", said Rainbow Dash.
" He was a professional explorer, and expert, and yet he didn't make it this far, like we have already, we've found three keys, and he's only found one", said Applebloom.
" Well, technically, one of the key's we found was already found by him, so it doesn't count", said Pinkie Pie.
" But still, two keys that he didn't find, compared to the one he did we've still found more keys than him", said Applebloom.
" I know what you're going to say next Applebloom, but don't, if we keep at this dumb journey someone's going to get seriously hurt, or even worse", said Applejack.
" I agree darling, we've been through so much, and with the armed crooks, if they find us, we'll get killed, and I am too young to die", said Rarity.
" Don't say that Rarity, we never say die", said Applebloom.
" I just want to go home", said Fluttershy.
" Me too", said Sweetie Belle.
" I understand how most of you feel, and honestly, I'm scared too, I've had a few thoughts myself earlier on, but I ignored them, and pushed on, because of one reason, Sweet Apple Acres, don't you realize Applejack, our farm, that our family has worked so hard on for three generations, gone in an instant, and after that there's Fluttershy's animal shelter, Rarity's boutique, the cakes shop, and DJPON3's music shop", said Applebloom.
" Granny Smith, Principal Celestia, Vice Principal Luna, Dean Cadence, and so many other adults, they've done what's best for us, and that's all up there, during their time, but this is now our time, down here, our time, our chance, to do what's right, one final chance to keep what makes Canterlot City in place, and the second we all leave this well, that chance is gone, and I hate for someone like Spoiled Rich or the Flim Flam brothers to find the treasure because we gave up too easy", said Applebloom.
Applejack looked up at the top of the well, then thought about what Applebloom said, the sighed.
" Well played Applebloom, you had me at Flim and Flam", said Applejack.
" I don't want to lose the animal shelter, all those poor animals having no where else to go", said Fluttershy.
" And I've worked so hard getting my boutique, even if I got a new one, it might not even be in the city", said Rarity.
Sweetie Belle also sighed.
" You're right Applebloom, like you said, we're the CMC's and we stick together", said Sweetie Belle.
" And we're also the Rainbooms, the Wondercolts", said Twilight.
" We are Canterlot", said Sunset.
Meanwhile, back in the mineshaft, Spoiled Rich, Cinch, Flim and Flam, had just finished fighting off the bats as they all scatted far, Spoiled Rich was sitting down on a rock, fanning herself.
" What the heck was that all about, I've searched every nook and cranny of this place, and not one single was seen", said Cinch.
" They couldn't have come from outside the cave, it's broad daylight out there", said Flim.
" Hey, look", said Flam, pointing somewhere, everyone turned to see the small gap at the side.
" A small opening, and you guys haven't noticed it", said Spoiled Rich.
" Hey, in our defense, you didn't notice either", said Flim.
" It doesn't matter, we can either waste more time blaming one another, or we can start heading into the cave and catch up with the others, we've been wondering around for so long, they've probably set off all the traps, which should make it easy for us", said Cinch.
" I'm not going down there, it's a small fit", said Spoiled Rich.
" You don't have any dress to ruin, what are you complaining for", said Flam.
" You're claustrophobic, aren't you", said Cinch.
" What", said Spoiled Rich.
" Claustrophobic, it means fear of small spaces", said Cinch.
" I know what it means, and no, I am not", said Spoiled Rich.
" Well in that case, you don't have to go down the small cave, you can always wait inside the truck, while the rest of us...", Flim was cut off as Spoiled Rich.
" You're not getting rid of me that easily", said Spoiled Rich.
And so, hesitantly, Spoiled Rich went down the cave, followed by Cinch, Flim and Flam.
Back with the Rainbooms, they continued after leaving the wishing well, until they came to a complete stop.
" Which way", said Rainbow Dash, as they stood in front of three paths.
" I don't know", said Twilight.
" Are we just going to take a guess or something", said Rainbow Dash.
" Hey, look at this", said Pinkie Pie, picking up another scroll, she gave it to Sunset, who then translated the symbols to letters.
" It's a short phrase, it says, Journey through one path, and avoid the deadly traps", said Sunset.
" Okay, so, one of the paths continue onward, the rest don't", said Rainbow Dash.
" There's no clue that say which one, are we really just taking a guess", said Rarity.
" I really wish this was something like the Monty hall riddle, I would've figured this out instantly", said Twilight.
" Huh", said Pinkie Pie.
" We basically have a 33% chance of getting the right path, and are more likely to get it wrong, and once we choose, and before we enter, the host would reveal one of the two doors we haven't picked as the wrong one, which would still leave two doors, including the other door we haven't picked", said Twilight.
" Oh, I get it now", said Pinkie Pie, before turning to Rainbow Dash, " Not really".
" Although, I think I have an idea, I'm not sure what the traps are like, but the clue didn't say only one path leads to the next room, it says 'Journey though one path', as in choose one, I propose we split into three groups, and each group goes into a different path", said Sunset.
Although most were hesitant at the idea of splitting up, they all complied.
" Okay then, there's twelve of us, so we'll split in three groups of four", said Sunset.
" I know how we'll determine that", said Pinkie Pie, grabbing a page from Sunsets journal, and tearing it in twelve pieces, and writing the letter A in four of the pieces, the letter B in another four, while the last four had the letter C.
" The letter you draw represents what group you're in, group A will take the left path, group B will take the middle, and group C will take the right path", said Pinkie Pie, placing all the slips of paper onto Applejacks hat.
And so, each of the girls, and Spike drew from the hat.
Applejack, Applebloom, Babs Seed and Pinkie Pie drew and formed group A, and stood in front of the left path.
Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo, Fluttershy and Sunset drew and formed group B, and stood in front of the middle path.
While Rarity, Sweetie Belle, Twilight and Spike drew and formed group C, and stood in front of the right path.
" Well, good luck girls", said Sunset.
They all then took one last look at one another, before they all went into their assigned paths.
And that will be it for now, another chapter done, and I am halfway through, until next time, that's all for now.
