AN: First, I'd like to comment that Equestria Girls deserved more than just that series of shorts and specials.
It had potential for a real full series.
I wish they would have given it a chance before making the next generation movie, which I'm not complaining about.
Canterlot City.
A peaceful and harmonious city where everyone lived peacefully with everyone.
However, that city had something different from the other cities in the world, something magical.
The reason for that is that in Canterlot High, there was a statue, but it wasn't a normal statue, for it was also a magical portal to a land of magic and friendship called Equestria.
Many things have happened around that school because of that portal.
Like a unicorn who tried to use a magical crown to take over the world, a trio of mermaids who tried to gain power through disharmony, a headmistress who tried to sabotage some friendly games, and so on.
But we are getting too sidetracked, as we now focus on the stairs at the entrance of the school, where we can see six girls of different skin tones.
Those were known as the Mane 7, a group of girls formed by Sunset Shimmer, a unicorn originally from Equestria who was initially evil, but after learning about friendship, she managed to become part of a large group of friends who, coincidentally, were that world's version of a group of Equestria ponies.
Those girls were Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity.
But why was the group called Mane 7 if you only see 6 in total?
"Ugh. How boring. Why can't something happen in this city?" asked Rainbow Dash complaining.
"I don't recommend wishing for that." said Applejack.
"Right. Every time something happens in this city, there's usually a magical theme in the middle." said Rarity.
"Yeah, like the magic hand mirror thing, the magic cell phone, that memory-erasing stone, that pendant that turns back time..." said Pinkie Pie naming all the adventures the girls had been on.
"We get it, Pinkie Pie." said Fluttershy.
"Rainbow Dash, I understand you want some action, but sometimes it's nice to enjoy the peace and quiet. You never know when it might be interrupted." said Sunset.
"Girls!"
They all turned their heads back to look at the seventh member of the group, Twilight Sparkle, but this wasn't Princess Twilight Sparkle of Equestria.
That was the Twilight Sparkle of that world, who at first, was part of another school and wasn't interested in friendship, but thanks to Sunset and the other girls, she changed for the better.
"What's the matter, Twilight?" asked Sunset.
"Well what's up is that I was taking a quiet nap when that weird jalopy of Twilight's started beeping." said Spike, Twilight's pet dog who, after some magic-related events, gained the ability to talk.
"It's not a jalopy. It's a device I create to detect magical anomalies in case some Equestrian object appears in the area by following electromagnetic waves that..." said Twilight about to give a scientific explanation.
"Darling, I like the classes as much as the next person, but didn't you have something important to say?" asked Rarity, making the bespectacled girl blush as she saw that she had gotten carried away, again.
"Yes, that's right. It turns out that my device..." began Twilight.
"Uh. Uh. Can we call it 'magical item locator of Equestria' or MILE for short?" asked Pinkie Pie.
"Okay. My MILE detected a magical energy spike just now." said Twilight.
"You mean a magical object from Equestria has appeared somewhere in the city?" asked Applejack.
"Yeah, that's basically what I said." said Twilight.
"Oh yeah! Finally some action!" said Rainbow Dash excitedly.
"Don't get too excited, Rainbow Dash. We don't know what kind of object it might be." said Sunset.
"What if it's dangerous and malevolent?" asked Fluttershy with slight trepidation.
"That's what we have geodes for. If that object unleashes some monster or something, we'll take it down with our super powers." said Rainbow Dash referring to the stones that granted them magical powers after finding them during their stay at Camp Everfree.
"Yeah, I guess so." said Sunset before focusing her gaze on the girl with glasses. "Is it very far from here?"
"Not too far." said Twilight.
"Great! Let's go now that the chapter has just started!" said Pinkie Pie.
"What?" asked the others in unison.
"I'd explain it to you, but it's not in the story plans." said Pinkie Pie.
"Anyway. Come on, girls!" exclaimed Sunset.
Mane 7 grabbed the geodes and they all underwent a transformation as their clothes became fancy dresses, pony ears grew on them while Twilight, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy got wings and everyone's hair grew so long that it was tied in a ponytail to look like a tail.
Once they were transformed, they proceeded to go in search of the source of the anomaly.
Michiru began to moan as her eyes began to open and the first thing she saw was the blue sky of a beautiful day.
"Ugh. My head." said Michiru as she sat up and rubbed her head. It was then that memories of what happened a moment ago would flash through her head. "Nazuna! Shirou!" exclaimed Michiru worriedly as she stood up and looked around quickly, discovering that she was in some sort of alleyway.
Soon after, she found those she was looking for lying on the ground near her, so she let out a sigh of relief.
It was then that something began to move in Shirou's jacket and revealed to be Kuro, who had been hiding in the jacket the whole time.
"Kuro. How glad I am that you're okay." said Michiru as the crow flew into her arms and she petted it.
After that, she knelt down beside Nazuna and shook her.
"Nazuna, wake up." said Michiru.
"Mmm." expressed Nazuna before opening her eyes. "Michiru? What...?" asked Nazuna before realizing what happened earlier, which made her eyes snap open. "Oh my god! What happened? are you okay?" asked Nazuna sitting up quickly.
"Relax. I'm fine." said Michiru.
"*Sigh* Thank goodness." said Nazuna.
"Ugh. Do you have to make such a fuss?" asked Shirou sitting up while rubbing his head.
"You finally wake up, Shirou." said Michiru.
"I've been through worse." said Shirou before getting up and looking around. "Where is the intruder?" asked Shirou referring to the man they were chasing.
"I don't know. When I got up, you were the only ones here." said Michiru as Nazuna stood up.
"Speaking of which, where are we?" asked Nazuna.
"Well, that thing that swallowed us was a transporter or whatever, so we should be somewhere in the world, right?" asked Michiru.
"I don't think so." said Shirou.
"What? Why do you say that?" asked Michiru.
"There's something about this place that smells funny. I can feel it. It's something very different from the other cities I've been to." said Shirou.
"So what do we do now?" asked Nazuna.
"The first thing would be to find out where we are and..." suggested Shirou before suddenly stopping and sniffing the air.
"What's wrong?" asked Michiru with slight concern.
"There are several people approaching. Let's hide." said Shirou before he jumped onto the rooftops while Michiru and Nazuna hid behind garbage cans and dumpsters.
Shortly after, at the entrance of the alley, Mane 7 appeared.
"According to the data. The anomaly came from in there." said Twilight.
"Oh. Do we have to go into that dirty, dark alley?" asked Rarity disgusted.
"Of course. It's written here." said Pinkie Pie showing a booklet that said 'Equestria Beastmen Girls Script'.
Give that back!
A human hand suddenly appeared and took the booklet from the pink haired girl who gave the screen a nervous smile.
"It's okay, girls. Keep your eyes open for anything suspicious." Sunset said.
"Don't worry, I will." said Rarity.
Mane 7 entered the alley as they scanned the surroundings for the cause of the anomaly.
However, Michiru, who was hiding behind a dumpster, didn't notice that her tail was out in the open.
Fortunately, the darkness of the alley prevented the girls from being able to see it and that caused Sunset to end up stepping on the tail.
"AH!" shouted Michiru coming out of hiding.
"AAHH!" shouted the girls.
"Would you watch where you're stepping?!" asked Michiru angrily before realizing that the girls standing there had wings and pony ears. "Wait, are you beastmen?"
"What are you talking about? And what are you supposed to be? Some kind of mutant raccoon?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"I'm a tanuki, not a raccoon." said Michiru offended.
"She's right. Raccoons have ringed tails while tanuki don't." said Twilight.
"Thank you. Finally someone who knows." said Michiru.
"Michiru, I don't think this is the time for that." said Nazuna coming out of hiding.
"Is there another one?" asked Spike.
"Ah! The talking dog!" exclaimed Michiru pointing at the talking dog.
"Really? The talking dog is the weirdest thing about this?" asked Applejack.
"Okay. Can someone explain what's going on?" asked Sunset.
"That's what I'm wondering too."
Mane 7 looked up to see Shirou standing on the roof before jumping into the alley, stopping in front of the magical girls who backed up a bit at the werewolf's serious look.
"Hey, pretty doggy?" asked Pinkie Pie with a nervous smile.
"Shirou, control yourself a little. You're scaring them." said Michiru.
"Apparently not all of them." said Nazuna pointing at Fluttershy who stared in awe at the werewolf.
"You're not afraid of me?" asked Shirou with an arched eyebrow.
"No, I'm not afraid. I think you're cute." said Fluttershy.
Shirou was shocked at that while Michiru burst out laughing loudly.
"HAHAHA. She thinks Shirou is cute. HAHAHA. That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. HAHAHA." said Michiru holding her stomach as she laughed.
Nazuna covered her mouth to hide her laughter.
"HEY!" shouted Twilight getting everyone's attention. "Listen up. Clearly we all have questions, so why don't we go somewhere quieter where we can talk?"
"I agree." said Shirou.
"Yeah, there's just one problem, how are we going to get through city with them? I mean, the city is used to us, but I don't think it's used to a werewolf, a fox girl and a tanuki girl." said Pinkie Pie.
In response, Shirou transformed into his human form, as did Nazuna.
"Oh, right. They can do that." said Pinkie Pie as if she knew them.
"What about her?" asked Spike pointing to Michiru, who was still in her beastman form.
Seeing that there was no choice, Michiru let out a sigh of defeat before adopting her human form.
"Let's get this over with as soon as possible." said Michiru.
"Same here." said Sunset as she and the rest of her friends undid the transformation, much to the surprise and confusion of the three beastmen.
Mane 7 led the three beastmen to a place where they could talk without interruption.
As they walked through the streets, the three beastmen looked curiously at the place they were in and the strangest thing they had noticed were its inhabitants who had various skin tones.
It was as if a rainbow of all colors had rained down on everyone and showered them with its colors.
Only one question was going through their heads and that was where they were.
However, there was something else, something that lingered in Shirou's mind.
When he saw the Mane 7, he thought for a moment that they were pony beastmen, but his sense of smell told him otherwise, that they weren't beastmen.
For a moment, he thought they were a case like Michiru and Nazuna, that is, humans who became beastmen accidentally, but again, his sense of smell told him otherwise.
There was something different about those girls and he hoped that their future conversation could answer that.
Finally, Mane 7 took the beastmen to Sunset's apartment, where they could have a conversation without outside interruptions or disturbances.
When they arrived, they all went to the dining room table and there was an awkward silence among them for a couple of minutes.
"So, are we safe here?" asked Michiru.
"As long as we don't make too much noise." said Sunset.
At that, Michiru reverted to her beastman form.
"Phew. Thank goodness." said Michiru.
"I still find it hard to believe that you don't like being in human form." said Nazuna.
"What can I say? I've gotten used to this form." said Michiru with a shrug.
"Okay, explain. Who are you guys?" asked Shirou.
"Hey, buddy. This isn't an interrogation." said Rainbow Dash.
"And if it was, I'd be the good cop, although it's cool to be the bad cop too. Can I be both?" asked Pinkie Pie, earning a confused look from everyone.
"Well, I guess we should introduce ourselves. I'm Sunset Shimmer." said Sunset introducing herself.
"Applejack." said Applejack.
"Rainbow Dash." said Rainbow Dash.
"I'm Fluttershy. E-Enchanted." said Fluttershy nervously.
"You can call me Rarity, darlings." said Rarity.
"I'm Pinkie Pie. If you need to have a party. I'm just the person." said Pinkie Pie with a huge toothy grin.
"I'm Twilight Sparkle." said Twilight before holding up Spike for them to see. "And this is Spike."
"Hello." said Spike.
"Greetings. I'm Michiru Kagemori." said Michiru.
"Nazuna Hiwatashi." said Nazuna.
"Shirou Oogami." said Shirou.
"And this is Kuro." said Michiru introducing the crow.
"Aw, how cute. C-Could I...?" started Fluttershy nervously.
"Sure." said Michiru letting the yellow girl pick up the crow and start petting it.
"Oh, who's a cute crow? Who's a cute crow?" asked Fluttershy while petting the crow, much to the animal's enjoyment.
"Okay. For starters, what are you?" asked Twilight.
"We're beastmen." said Shirou.
"Beastmen? I've heard a lot of things in my life, but I've never heard of anything called beastmen." said Sunset.
"Well, that's strange. Beastmen are a common species on the planet." said Nazuna.
"What planet are you talking about? Because in all my life I have never heard or seen anything like you." said Rainbow Dash.
"What? That's impossible! But if there's a city full of them and everything." said Michiru.
"Well if there was a city like you say, it would be the first time we heard of something like that." said Applejack.
"Wait, what if this is the same thing as with Sunset?" asked Spike getting everyone's attention.
"You mean they came from another world and somehow ended up in this world the same way Sunset did, but taking away the fact that she wanted to take over the entire high school with a magical crown?" asked Pinkie Pie.
Needless to say, the beastmen were very confused by what the pink-haired girl said.
"Uh... Yeah, I think that's what he meant." said Rarity.
"Wait, you're saying we're in another world? But that's impossible." said Michiru.
"So was what happened to us, and look at us." said Nazuna.
"I think you might be right." said Shirou drawing the attention of the others.
"Are you sure, Shirou?" asked Michiru.
"I suspected it from the moment we arrived. Besides, the fact that they haven't heard of beastmen is something very strange." said Shirou.
"Okay. What exactly a beastman?" asked Sunset.
"Beastmen are a species of animals that evolved in such a way that they resemble humans." said Shirou.
"Really? That's amazing! Is that a natural selection thing? Does it work for all species? Can they speak any language, or do they have to learn it and...?" asked Twilight fascinated by beastmen.
"Twilight, this isn't the time for a science talk." said Applejack, causing the bespectacled girl to blush a little in embarrassment.
"Sorry." said Twilight.
"Wait, you say you're animals, but you look human." said Rarity.
"It's just a disguise. We beastmen have the ability to take on a human appearance to blend in with each other." said Shirou.
"Well, it would make a good Halloween costume." commented Pinkie Pie.
"Does that mean you have to live among humans pretending to be someone else? That doesn't sound very nice." said Fluttershy.
"While some beastmen live hidden among humans, most of them, including us, live in an excluded area known as Anima City." said Shirou.
"That's nice, isn't it? A whole city to yourselves." said Rainbow Dash.
"You sure do a lot of partying," said Pinkie Pie.
"We didn't make that city for fun." said Shirou.
"Ah no?" asked Sunset.
"The reason it was built was because of the prejudice humans have against us." said Shirou.
"Well, there are prejudiced people here, but I don't think it's that big of a deal." said Applejack.
"When it's humans only, it's easy, but when even though we walk, talk and act like humans, to them we're still animals, beasts. They even call us monsters." said Nazuna.
"They even form groups of hunters to capture any beastman and kill them." said Michiru remembering the time she ran away from some hunters to go to the city.
Mane 7 let out a joint gasp.
In the history of mankind there were prejudices against those who were of different races, countries, religions or sexuality, but they would never have imagined a level like that.
"That... That's horrible. How can they allow that?!" asked Rarity.
"That's just the way humans are. Nothing can be done." said Shirou.
"But not all humans hate us. There are some who wish for peace and union between humans and beastmen. The process may be slow, but I know the day when we can all live together will come." said Michiru.
"That's very nice, but still I can't believe that humans treat you like that. You're not so different from us." said Twilight.
"Yes. If they knew you a little better, you'd be fast friends." said Pinkie Pie.
"While the outside matters, it's the inside that counts." said Rarity.
"If that were really true, that wouldn't have happened to us." said Michiru.
"What do you mean?" asked Spike.
"You see, unlike Shirou and the other beastmen. Michiru and I were once human." said Nazuna.
"Once? What does that mean?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"Almost a year ago, we both suffered a terrible accident and needed a blood transfusion." said Nazuna.
"But there was a medical glitch and they ended up giving us beastman blood." said Michiru.
"What? That's a blunder." said Applejack.
"At first, we were fine and went on with our normal lives, but one day, Nazuna suddenly transformed into a beastman and then, some men took her away and I never saw her again." said Michiru.
"Oh, that's horrible." said Rarity.
"Shortly after that, I also transformed into a beastman and fearing the same thing would happen to me as Nazuna I stayed hidden for a while until I decided to escape and go to Anima City." said Michiru before smiling. "And it was a good choice. Because I met Shirou and reunited with Nazuna."
"I'm happy for you." said Sunset.
"One question, is there… any way to return you to your normal form?" asked Twilight.
"Well, there's already a cure, but honestly, we like Anima City and also being a beastman." said Nazuna.
"I actually like that form better." said Fluttershy.
"And not only that, but because Nazuna and I are a special case. We have powers." said Michiru.
"Really? What kind of powers?" asked Rainbow Dash.
In response, Michiru turned one arm into a wing while the other enlarged it a bit.
"We have the ability to adapt our bodies to the shape of various animals." said Michiru before returning her arms to normal and stretching them a bit. "We can even alter it in various ways."
"Wow, that's mind-blowing!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash excitedly.
"It's like you have the entire animal kingdom inside of you!" said Twilight excitedly.
"Well, we still can't use the abilities of all the animals." said Nazuna.
"Yes, sometimes new abilities come to us when we least expect it." said Michiru returning her arms to normal.
"What about you? Do you have any special abilities as a beastman?" asked Applejack to the werewolf.
"No." said Shirou.
"What are you saying? You have a lot of amazing abilities." asked Michiru before focusing on the girls. "He's faster than a speeding bullet, he's so strong you can rip the horn off a rhino and his sense of smell is so powerful he can guess who's been where, when and what they've done."
Of course, they weren't going to tell them about the fact that Shirou was an immortal beastman of I don't know how old.
"Man, you have some amazing powers!" said Rainbow Dash.
"Uh. Uh. Could you smell the cupcake store about three blocks away and find out what they're doing?" asked Pinkie Pie with a smile.
"No." said Shirou.
"Please." said Pinkie Pie.
"No." said Shirou.
"PLEASE." said Pinkie Pie bringing her face closer to the werewolf's face.
"No." said Shirou.
"Oh." said Pinkie Pie dejectedly and returning to her seat.
"Cute, isn't he?" asked Applejack.
"That's right Shirou." said Michiru.
"But one thing, if there are no beastmen in this world, how come you had pony ears and wings when we met?" asked Nazuna.
Mane 7 became nervous, as it would be a complicated topic to explain.
"Well, it's a long story." said Sunset.
For quite a while, Mane 7 was telling the otherworldly beastmen the history of the city and their adventures.
First, Sunset explained to them that she wasn't human, but a unicorn from a magical land called Equestria.
Of course, Michiru laughed at this, as she didn't think it possible, but the faces of the others told her otherwise, so she calmed down and continued listening.
She then told them that there was a portal in the statue at the entrance of Canterlot High that connected to the world of Equestria and that, when she crossed it, she became human.
She told them that she was once a typical school bully, but after an encounter with Princess Twilight Sparkle of Equestria, she understood the error of her ways and decided to be a better person.
Of course, there was confusion on the part of the beastmen over the fact that she named someone with the same name as the Twilight in front of them.
Sunset explained it by saying that in that world and in Equestria they were like two sides of a mirror, so there was a version of each on the other side.
They then told them how they met the Twilight Sparkle of that world during a competition between Canterlot High and another school, her being from the other school.
Apparently, she developed a device that absorbed magic and it got out of control, endangering both worlds, but they worked it out and now they were all friends from the same high school.
Later, they told them that, during their time at Camp Everfree, they came across some geodes that gave them magical powers, as well as the ability to transform.
Since then, they had been using their powers to help people and prevent magical items originating in Equestria from ending up in the wrong hands.
"And well, that's it." said Sunset.
"Wow. I never would have guessed you'd go through all that." said Nazuna.
"It's amazing, but also mind-blowing." said Michiru.
"So are we." said Rainbow Dash crossing her arms.
"Isn't it dangerous for a group of young people to go around with powers they don't quite handle?" asked Shirou.
"Well, yes, but we already fully handle our powers." said Fluttershy.
"Besides, no one else besides us knows how dangerous Equestria's magic can be in the wrong hands. If we left that up to the authorities, bad things would probably happen." said Twilight.
"Like when that girl was obsessed with her beauty and ended up locking us in a mirror or that girl who wanted to protect the camp and ended up locking us all in or that time when..." said Pinkie Pie.
"Pinkie Pie, stop." said Rarity making the pink haired girl shut up.
"She's right, Shirou. Besides, they've been through a lot and made it through. Same goes for me, remember?" asked Michiru remembering the times she helped the werewolf with various crimes.
"*Sigh* I guess so." said Shirou.
"Another thing, how did you get to this world?" asked Sunset.
"We were in hot pursuit of a guy who stole a couple of important items, but the really cowardly guy tried to take us out with a I don't know what of matter that was in the testing phase." said Michiru.
"A what?" asked Applejack.
"A matter transporter. The mayor was planning to use it to help beastmen all over the world." said Shirou.
"Really? That sounds fascinating! Not only would it cut down on travel time, but it would also reduce the pollution caused by CO2." said Twilight.
"I admit that it's cool to get from one place to another in a second, but I'd rather run." commented Rainbow Dash.
"But what happened to that intruder you were chasing?" asked Fluttershy.
"Before the portal sucked us in, I managed to grab him. So it's very likely that he came to this world with us." said Shirou.
"Just as well. I still have a score to settle with him for the punch he gave me." said Michiru pounding her fist with her palm.
"And do you know what he planned to do with those items he stole?" asked Rarity.
"No, but we can't rule anything out. It would be best to find him as soon as possible." said Shirou.
"But wait, how will we get back to our world?" asked Nazuna.
"Maybe I can help with that." said Twilight raising her hand and getting the attention of the others. "You see, it turns out that for the past few weeks I've been working on a portal generator."
"That would explain why you lock yourself in your room almost every day." commented Spike.
"What would you do something like that for?" asked Sunset.
"For cases like the high school portal not working or us being too far away from it." said Twilight.
"And that generator could take us back to our world?" asked Michiru.
"Well, I still have to do some calculations besides the fact that it should connect to your world, but, according to my calculations, there's a good chance." said Twilight.
"How nice." said Nazuna happy that there was a way back to her world.
"Anyway. I'm glad the matter is resolved, but there's still one outstanding issue." said Rarity getting everyone's attention. "Where will you be spending the night?"
That made the beastmen' eyes widen as they were so focused on the conversation that they hadn't thought about where to sleep.
"Uh... I-I guess they won't take our money here, will they?" asked Michiru rubbing the back of her neck.
"It's not like we have a lot of money on us either, really." said Nazuna.
"Why don't you stay here? I've got plenty of room to spare." said Sunset offering them a place to stay.
"Are you sure? We wouldn't want to be a bother." said Nazuna.
"I wouldn't be, believe me. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving you alone in a city you don't know." said Sunset.
"Fine by me. What do you say, Shirou?" asked Michiru.
Weighing the options and analyzing the situation, Shirou came to a decision.
"Fine. Since you're offering us your home, I'll take you up on the offer. Anyway, we'll just stay here until I catch the intruder and we can return to our world." said Shirou.
"Of course. Take all the time you need." said Sunset.
"Hooray! New friends!" exclaimed Pinkie Pie appearing behind Michiru and Nazuna and giving them a hug. "This is one to celebrate!" said Pinkie Pie before pulling a small cannon out of her hair through which she shot confetti.
Needless to say, the beastmen were confused by that.
"How did she do that?" asked Michiru.
"That's Pinkie Pie being Pinkie Pie. Don't strain yourself trying to find logic in it. Trust me, it'll give you less headaches." said Spike.
