The sun rose on a new morning in the city.
In Sunset's apartment, she woke up when her alarm clock went off and after turning it off, she sat up and let out a yawn.
Taking advantage of the fact that Michiru and Nazuna were still sleeping, she decided to use the bathroom first so she could get ready for another day of school.
Once inside, she started with washing her face.
Suddenly, the moment she took off the towel she was drying her face with and looked in the mirror, she noticed something that made her gasp, for on her face there were whiskers, but not like those of a normal man, they were animal whiskers.
Quickly, Sunset rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't hallucinating and when she cleared them, the whiskers had disappeared.
Taking it as a minor hallucination, she shrugged it off and continued with her chores.
After the others got up and they all had breakfast, they left for Canterlot High, though Michiru felt bored at having to go back to classes again.
Shortly after arriving, they met the rest of Mane 7 in the hallways.
"Hey, Sunset, how are you feeling?" asked Applejack.
"Fine, thanks." said Sunset.
"Are you sure you don't want to stay home? You went through a bad experience." said Twilight.
"It's okay. Besides, I've been through worse." said Sunset.
"It's true. If we missed a day of school every time we went through a magical thing, we wouldn't have to go to school anymore." said Rainbow Dash, making them all burst out laughing.
"Anyway, let's get to class." said Nazuna.
"The bad thing is that the first class is math." said Michiru.
"It's very important, Michiru. It's one of the basic knowledge for life." said Twilight.
"Like how to calculate how much sugar to add, how long the cupcake should be in the oven, the batter it should have, the mix of flavors..." started Pinkie Pie.
"I think she didn't just mean cupcakes." said Spike.
"And by doing the proper calculation, the problem can be solved. Resulting in X equals…" explained the math teacher.
As the class was going on, the girls were paying attention and taking notes.
In Michiru's case, she was trying not to fall asleep while Rainbow Dash was trying to write down everything they were explaining.
In a slight oversight, Sunset pushed her pencil off her desk onto the floor and she bent down to pick it up, but when she stretched her arm toward the pencil, it turned furry.
"Ah!" cried Sunset as she saw her furry arm.
Unfortunately, that scream got the attention of everyone in the class.
"Is there a problem, Miss Shimmer?" asked the teacher.
Sunset quickly returned her gaze to her arm, only to find it normal again.
"Uh... No. Nothing. I thought I saw a cockroach." said Sunset with a nervous smile.
"Oh, my stars. Good thing I come prepared for this." said Rarity pulling an insecticide out of her backpack which she sprayed on the ground around her.
"Do you always carry that on you?" asked Nazuna with an arched eyebrow.
"You never know when you might need it." said Rarity.
After that little interruption, the class continued.
Sunset looked at her arm again to see it normal, so she let out a low sigh of relief to see that it was nothing, but then, her other arm turned furry, which horrified her.
After seeing that no one had noticed, she hid her arm so they wouldn't see it, but soon after, the other arm also became furry and not only that, but she saw that her legs were also becoming furry.
She had to get out of that place before things got worse for her.
"Uh... Professor, could you go to the bathroom for a moment?" asked Sunset.
"Okay, but don't take too long. This part will come on the exam." said the professor, earning a groan from most of the students.
Quickly, Sunset left the room, keeping her arms hidden so that no one would see them.
However, Michiru came to notice something odd about her.
"Was that… fur?" asked Michiru mentally.
Sunset ran to the bathroom, where, fortunately, no one else was there.
Because of how hard she ran, she propped herself up on her knees with her hands while panting a little.
When she stood up, she looked at herself in the mirror and that's when she saw something that made her gasp loudly.
Sometime later, the class was over and the girls were on their way out.
"What will take him so long?" asked Twilight.
"Maybe it was a really big need." said Pinkie Pie.
"I don't know, girls. Sunset was a little weird in class." said Michiru.
"Well, she's not normal." said Rarity.
"I don't think that's what she meant." said Nazuna.
"Will she be okay?" asked Fluttershy.
"There's only one way to find out." said Applejack.
Soon after, they all arrived at the bathroom and when they entered, they saw no one.
"Sunset, are you here?" asked Michiru.
"Michiru?"
They all turned their gaze to one of the toilets that had the door closed.
"Are the others with you?" asked Sunset from the other side of the door.
"We're all here. There's no one else." said Rainbow Dash.
"What's the matter, dear?" asked Rarity.
"Well…" began Sunset before opening the door and showing herself to the others, who gasped in utter surprise at what they were seeing.
Sunset's skin had become full of fur, a tail was sticking out from behind her, as well as cat ears on her head and a feline face.
"S-Sunset, you're… you're an beastman!" exclaimed Michiru in shock.
"Aw, you're so cute." said Fluttershy petting Sunset's head.
"Stop that." said Sunset pulling away a little.
"I'm sorry." said Fluttershy with a slight blush of embarrassment.
"But how is that possible?" asked Twilight.
"It wouldn't by any chance be a side effect of having passed the portal?" asked Pinkie Pie.
"If it was that, it would have happened to me a long time before." said Sunset.
"Right." said Pinkie Pie.
"Just out of curiosity, the beastman thing wouldn't be contagious, would it?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"No, of course it isn't. Ours was a special case." said Michiru.
That made a click sound in Nazuna's head.
"Wait a minute. Michiru, do you remember what documents were the ones that guy stole from the town hall?" asked Nazuna.
"I think they were something about events related to Alan and…" began Michiru.
"We." said Nazuna.
"What are you talking about?" asked Applejack.
"Before we came to this world, that guy stole some documents regarding our special case." said Nazuna before focusing her gaze on her newly transformed friend. "Sunset, did you feel anything weird before you transformed?"
"No, it all happened at once." said Sunset.
"Just like it happened with us" Michiru muttered.
"What do you mean?" asked Rarity.
"It's just a theory, but I think what that guy is planning to do is related to what happened to Sunset." said Nazuna.
"It's very likely that before he left, he injected her with something with the beastman factor, which is what transformed us." said Michiru.
"That could explain almost everything." said Twilight.
"Now he's really out of line. When I see him, I'll beat him so bad he won't be able to recognize himself in a mirror. Nobody turns my friend into a freak." said Rainbow Dash before she realized what she said. "Hey, no offense." said Rainbow Dash with a nervous smile.
"It's okay. What happened to us was an accident, unlike this." said Michiru.
"So, will I be a beastman forever?" asked Sunset.
"I'm afraid so." said Nazuna.
"Wait, what about that cure you said the mayor of your world created?" asked Spike.
"Yes, we can ask her to give us a sample and we can cure our friend." said Pinkie Pie.
"Good idea Pinkie Pie, shall we ask her by letter or by message? If it can come from this world." said Applejack sarcastically.
"Oh, right." said Pinkie Pie.
"But we still have Twilight's portal creator, right?" asked Fluttershy.
"It's still in the works. It won't be finished for a while." said Twilight.
"Then I guess I'll have to get used to this new look." said Sunset lowering her head in sorrow.
At that moment, she felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to see Michiru transforming into her beastman form and giving her a smile.
"Don't worry. Just like Nazuna and I, you'll be able to regain your usual appearance." said Michiru.
"True, you would just need to train a little." said Nazuna.
A smile graced her feline face as she saw the support of her new friends.
"Thanks, girls." said Sunset.
"Hey, one question. If Sunset has become a special beastman like you, does she have the same powers?" asked Spike.
"Hey, that's true. That would actually be mind-blowing." said Rainbow Dash.
"Well, we're not entirely sure." said Michiru.
"Don't you feel something weird?" asked Nazuna.
"Other than a feeling of licking myself, no." said Sunset.
"I guess we'll have to find out in the process." said Twilight.
"But wait, what about classes?" asked Sunset.
"We can tell the teachers and the headmistress that you had a weird breakfast." said Pinkie Pie with a solution to the issue.
"Make it three." said Nazuna.
"That's right. we are the only ones who know what Sunset is going through, so we should be with her to help her." said Michiru.
"I really appreciate it, girls, but how am I going to be able to walk down the street? I don't exactly look right." said Sunset.
"Nonsense. You look divine, but if you want to hide it, I have just the thing for you." said Rarity before pulling a hooded cloak out of her backpack.
"Do you really have that on you too?" asked Michiru.
"No, I got it from Pinkie Pie this morning." said Rarity pointing a thumb at her pink-haired friend.
"I just didn't have room for this." said Pinkie Pie pulling two small cannons out of her hair.
That left everyone very confused, but they decided to let it go.
The three girls went to Sunset's apartment, where they remained quiet for the time being.
"So how do I shapeshift?" asked Sunset.
"Well, it was hard for me at first, but then it became as simple as breathing." said Michiru.
"You just take a deep breath and focus on what you looked like as a human." said Nazuna.
Sunset nodded to them before taking a deep breath with her eyes closed, concentrating on her normal appearance and soon after, she opened her eyes.
"Did it work?" asked Sunset.
"See for yourself." said Nazuna handing her a hand mirror.
Sunset looked at herself in the mirror and smiled as she saw that she had regained her human appearance.
"Thank you, girls. You saved me." said Sunset.
"Oh, don't overdo it. We just helped a friend." said Michiru.
"After all, you helped us by letting us stay at your place." said Nazuna.
"And if I'm being honest with you." said Sunset before returning to her beastman form. "It's cool this transforming thing. I still wonder if I'll have the same powers as you guys."
"Well, there's only one way to find out." said Michiru before grabbing a nearby trash can. "Catch!" exclaimed Michiru throwing the can at the reddish-haired girl.
Sunset let out a small scream before stepping to the side.
"Michiru, what was that for?" asked Nazuna.
"Sorry, it's just that I got my powers at unexpected or stressful times." said Michiru.
"In that case, I think it would be better to wait for the others." said Sunset before returning to her human form.
"There's one thing I don't quite understand. Why would that guy want to turn you into a beastman?" asked Nazuna.
"I have no idea." said Sunset with a shrug.
"We need to tell Shirou about this. Maybe he can use it to track him down." said Michiru, receiving a nod from the others in agreement.
For the next few hours, the three of them were hanging out, either watching TV or playing games, since, due to what happened to Sunset, the other members of Mane 7 told everyone that they had gotten sick and had to miss classes, so the three girls could only wait for classes to end and for the others to arrive.

Someone knocked on the door and Sunset got up to open it, discovering her friends on the other side.
"Sunset, it's you again!" said Twilight.
"Does that mean you're not a beastman anymore?" asked Rainbow Dash.
In response, Sunset transformed into her beastman form.
"No, I still am." said Sunset before turning back into her human form.
"How does it feel when you make all that fur grow all of a sudden?" asked Pinkie Pie.
"Honestly, it feels good. It's almost like getting dressed." said Sunset.
"I'll take your word for it." said Rarity.
"So, what? Have you figured out if you have those mind-blowing beastman powers yet?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"Technically, not all beastman have those powers, just the three of them." said Twilight.
"And Shirou, aka Ginrou." whispered Michiru to Nazuna, who chuckled.
"Not yet, but we were waiting for you to give us a hand." said Sunset.
"Sounds good to me. If we all pitch in, you can learn how to handle your possible new powers well." said Fluttershy.
"But we need a place to practice without interruptions." said Nazuna.
"We could use my family's farm, specifically in the area where I work. My siblings won't come in and bother us." said Applejack.
"Sounds like a perfect place to me." said Michiru.
"Well then, let's go train." said Sunset.
