This is a crossover where the Percy Jackson characters are mortal, living in Panem and well, you'll see what happens...
Disclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson and the Olympians. All of the stuff from the series is owned by the amazing Rick Riordan. I also don't own Hunger Games. All of the stuff from the series is owned by the amazing Suzanne Collins. Anything you don't recognize is my own invention.
P.S. Characters may be OOC.
District 1
It was her last chance now. She was eighteen. If she didn't get picked now, her parents would never forgive her. She doesn't know what she'd do if the paper did not say her name. She had been volunteering every year since she was twelve, because there were so many volunteers every year. The escort from the capital had to pull again from the pool of volunteers. Her parents were both victors and her older sister had won 3 years ago, so she had to be too. She had trained too hard for this to not be picked. That's why her hands were shaking while the escort reached into the jar of the volunteer's names, picked one out, slowly unfolded the paper and read,
"Reyna Ramirez-Arellano."
The crowd burst into applause as she made her way onto the stage. She was relived she finally got chosen. When she looked at the crowd, she saw her parent's proud faces and her sister looking pleased. Rayna was the youngest in her family. When she won the games, that would be everyone in the family would be a victor. She was so excited.
"Now for the boy."
Reyna looked at the crowd of the boys who had volunteered, wondering who her teammate would be.
"Octavian Rome."
Rayna groaned quietly. Not him. He went to her school, and he was quite possibly one of the most annoying know-it-alls she had ever met. She hoped that he didn't last long after the bloodbath.
Octavian walked up onto the stage as the crowd cheered. Although maybe it sounded like they cheered a little quieter than they did when she was chosen, which would make sense, she was from a family of victors. This didn't seem to bother him though as he waved and blew kisses at the crowd. He thought he was going to win. Not under her watch. She waited too long for this moment to not win. As her and Octavian left the stage Reyna turned around to face the crowd one last time and said,
"I'll be back soon."
Reyna walked into the Justice building to the sound of the crowd of district 1 still roaring with applause.
There's chapter 1. The first 12 chapters will just be the reaping for each district and will be shorter. Chapters will become longer as we get into the games. Thank you so much for reading; I hoped you enjoyed! PLEASE leave a review. I am always looking to improve myself as an author, so constructive criticism is both welcomed and encouraged.
