A/n, please consider a series of small one-shots I have pondered for a few weeks. We'll begin in canon but veer out of it at some point. Chapter One takes place after episode 1x4. Please enjoy, and if you do, please feed the muse with a few words of review. Thank you all for your attention and support.
Chocolate Cake or Chocolate Eyes
JJ wasn't sure what made her say yes to Spence when he asked her to accept one of two tickets he had for an upcoming Skins game.
Perhaps it was the trick candles, the silly hat they made him wear, or the expression on his face when she called out. 'Hey, Spence, a first piece for the birthday boy."
It might have been his casual knowledge of poems about death or, "You should see what comes in when you type the word Death into a search engine."
She wondered if it was Morgan's teasing. "Reid, no wonder you can't get a date," and the flash of embarrassment in Spence's eyes.
Was it the triumph in Reid's eyes when he joined her and asked her to join him for the game?
Ultimately, it didn't matter if the team watched and listened to their every word as the jet arrowed toward home.
"Yes," JJ said, and everything shifted.
Birthday cake might be death to her diet for one day, but eyes like melted milk chocolate could change her life forever if she weren't careful.
