D3: The Mighty Ducks Re-Imagined

Synopsis: After the rest of the team mutinies one too many time now, Charlie goes to drastic measures. And till an unexpected decision to meet their new coach changes things for them. As they recall the last of the peewee Ducks now, as before school starts, the team spends all summer bonding to their new coach. As the truth comes out and with it, this changes things for him forever with a meeting.
Between him and the man that becomes his future coach, as the season changes, and as they become the champions they are meant to be….
Warnings: This is going to be a re-imagining of D3: the Mighty Ducks as Charlie meets Orion at the start of the summer, as their lives are fused together. As they prepare for what their future brings now, and as Charlie learns the truth. And this soon, that Orion is his real father and he has a life outside of the team.
This is also going to leave out the tv show, so an alternate reality story. But the other clip to this is going to show a few situations of Orion's coming into the picture, just before Charlie chose him as their back up coach.

Chapter 1: The Acceptance Ceremony, Reveals And Coach Orion
After 4 years winning, the Mighty Duck got into Eden Hall academy, as their Coach Gordon Bombay prepared to pass them off to a friend of his. "Please welcome to the podium the head coach and leader of the Mighty Ducks: Gordon Bombay." he said and the crowd started clapping as Coach Gordon Bombay moved forward. 'So you are my next team incoming, alright guys, I get it, new coach, but like Yoda said, need to be open now and to everything here now."
'That I have to teach you, but god you 5 look like Jason, Claire, Dave, Rick and Joe, could you be my friends kids, and you son, my biological, son.' the J.V. coach thought gently to them, looking at the sextet grouped together with smiles on their faces then. 'Alright so Charlie Conway, Jesse Hall, Connie Monroe, Lester Averman, Guy Germaine and Gregory Goldberg. Rest of the team is Jesse's brother Terry, Tammy and Tommy Duncan, Adam Banks and Fulton Reed.'
'That's the Minneapolis Mighty Ducks, Junior Goodwill Games are Russ Tyler, Julie Gaffney, Luis Mendoza, Dwayne Robertson, Kenny Wu and Dean Portman. That's all 17, yes okay, that's my main group, so where are you, you little brat, they kick you guys off the team. You quit, what exactly right now.' he thought sternly, as knowing them meeting now was erasing said shock, as they got used to his being the coach, and they turned to him that year as they got it together.
"Hold up Gordon, hey Son, just where is Peterson Marks and Dave Karp?" he called out to him and he watched the teenager, now obviously looking like him as the teenager, looked around and his eyes landed on him then. "After they bailed on us during the games, the 11 of us and Coach Bombay threw them off the team, Coach, but frankly I was glad they bailed on us. Ever since Connie decided on a fast experiment of seeing how well I do without them here to distract me."
"Worked well actually, but new coach means a TBD, you got it, I can go without it till you, if you're it, decides the timer is up." he said and Casey Conway, nee' Jacobs chuckled. "Charlie what you want a bet that us knowing 7 months in advance he's possibly our latest now. And while the 17 of us can handle this, those idiots, if they get in trouble, again, won't. And everything we would be hearing coming out of you, is him again at the moment here now."
"Because these guys hate adult authority, we grown so accustomed to having a regular coach, we changed into this us right now?" Guy Germaine said and he nodded. "I know, and while they hate adult authority, we need that from the final one, from our parents, to the school. To our coach, if he's more to us then we think, he's three in one now in truth in truth. While Uncle Derek is the 4th right now, as for the other question, in knowing I bonded to him this soon."
"No bet, but I don't doubt we will, if the Coach here is our next one, instead of meeting on the first day of school, we been spending the last 6 to 7 months. In getting to know him, and soon we're like we are with the Coach currently, but his possibly being a parent. That everything in coach is rephrased as father now, when cub got in trouble with the principal, or just the cops. If these idiots get in trouble for whatever reason here." he said and his father covered his eyes.
"Again, after I was at the near crash site?" the coach said gently and he nodded. "Yeah and after you heard the racket, after Larson and McGill jumped us, if you're the cherry red SUV. You seem to be following us around, despite having a team already." he said and the man nodded. "Well knowing Jason, if he needs help controlling these guys, well if they thought he's bad. Well I'm worse, and you hear this from me all the time at 14 now." he said and they nodded smiling.
"But in truth son, now that I was free of the current Varsity, I could focus all my time on you, making a few corrections to the plays, I'm ready." he said and Charlie smiled at that. "You been coming to every game the last two years, since you don't have to deal with them. The Varsity anymore, acting as the assistant coach, as a stand in, only now assistant. The Assistant Coach officially becomes head coach now, we had you following us." he said and the man smiled then.
"You better edit that for the duo if they get added to the team, more professional here, in what we're talking about, as their first day back on the team. They get the tone you would have given us if we never had the chance to spend 7 months together." he said and he crossed his arms. "Oh boy, just wait for the punchline, while we're doing half skating and half working out a maneuver we done 150 times, till he gives the irritated Coach tone." Guy said and he nodded.
"And by that he means this." the Coach said and giving a fast blow. "Freeze, I said freeze!" he said and the team watched as the Varsity froze up instantly at that. "Before that has whoever skating on one leg running into the wall, as our take in movies. Said has the instant case of sounding like Jim Carrey." Charlie said and he nodded. "I get that, but when I said that, I didn't mean all of you putting the brakes on till you skid into the wall." he said with a bemused smile.
"Young man control that temper, you raise your voice at me, you're boxed, calm down right now.', this kid needs to understand. I hear that attitude day in and day out, but you guys know better then to raise your voices at us, if said coach is also your parent." he said and the team nodded in agreement. "And what he sees as too hard is a way of life for us, first a few laps, then shooting and defense practice and then comes working at a play." Charlie said and he nodded.
"We can do this easily, get used to your training tones with us, but we're 10 in our 14 year old bodies with you, like it would be if you been there, since Coach left." Charlie said and he nodded, as his eyes gentled. 'Yeah that did it, the inner duckling is being a duckling with their papa duck, if I had been the assistant coach for them. I understand baby, and we can be a real family as a team here, if you're mine, my dear baby boy.' he thought, hiding a smile at the analogy then.
"Agreed, Coach left us with you, and 2 years in 7 months, totally devoted to you." Adam said smiling and he nodded gently. "So now what Riley, hmm, what 7 months does to you, it's almost like the entire 4 years in 7 months, that you're seeing us as one mind. And in 18 bodies now between the 18 of us here, they're the second version, you're the first." he said and the Varsity all paled. "Seven months, they train everyday, oh god we're finished!' he thought to that news.
"And that's not a threat, if we did the entire 5 years, if I found him when we were 9 we're 10 and you're 14, 2 years later, 12 to 16, and now a furthered 2 years, 14 and 18. As to that he gets the entire 10 years watching our biggest milestones in the 11 of us. That we've reached your level in only 4 years now, but if you refused to give up your training. If we find evidence that proves you're refusing to let go of Reilly, we win." Charlie said and he swallowed hard then.
"But with the Coach taking a few steps back and training the next generation, dad has all the time in the world to spend on us, so your refusal here. To let him in, we do fully, and now here's the ending resulting, as my godfather is training my duckling captain. Dad has me, I turn into the man I am now, a natural leader, and one the team are ready to follow right into flames. But you're seeing us in a new version to our jerseys as his version, these jerseys in a new one."
"You'll see the new version once we get things worked out, but after 7 months, 7 months are from duckling to full college age in look duck, but is really, just a very young duckling duck now." he said and Buckley hid a chuckle. "Nice work with the metaphor, you're not fully grown for another 4 years, you're a teenage duck. As though you're growing your wings and turning white, you got another 7 years, pal." the Coach said smiling in affection and Casey chuckled at that.
"You're all 13 to 14 in junior to high school age bodies, you got another 7 years then you're fully grown, but though young adult ducks, to me, still my ducklings." he said and they smiled gently at that and Gordon knew this would work out just fine. "We're expecting trouble if we get Peterson and David back on the team right now son, but with that. It's I don't care who started this, because what they did could put someone in the hospital." he said and they nodded firmly.
"Well I can imagine the reaction, after you see you have a severe amount of work with those guys, but after said practical joke, I'm right behind you, as we decide. And with Kat out of commission for a bit that I hold the position of Goalie, before the look on your face says it all. After someone spiked something over loaded with sugar, these jokes with the junk food are ending now, as I know that look on your face." Their Goalie said and he nodded in agreement.
"Yeah no kidding, I told you guys to cut back the sugar and ease back on the caffeine, whoever triggered this is getting 60 laps and a weeks work of morning practice. Because if this was during said week, she could collapse right now, you just put her out on a health violation. And I know she didn't mean to over shoot the mark, gentlemen, if that was you, Peterson. Then you and David are benched till further notice, young man." he said sternly and the team flinched.
"And there's tone we definitely don't want turned on us." She said in response and he nodded gently. "I know baby, but at this stage your reflexes have to start speeding up, as you're entering high school to college and entering pros, stop and you get run down. So keep moving before they run you right into a wall." he said gently and they nodded to his advice. "How many new plays we got?" he asked and he smiled. "That's 150 new ones." he said and they smiled.
"So our playbook has 250 moves we can use, as we spend all summer training and all spring, boy what 7 months training and bonding to you results in. Do they not realize, if you're really my father, that I'm the son of the new head coach of the team. And instead of just 'the coach', it's now 'dad and the Coach'." Charlie said and he smiled and they started shaking. 'Oh god, he was bad as a coach, but Conway, he's going furious father bear.' the Captain thought to that.
"Or Charlie Orion, Riley think it over, that could be my real name, it is, and I was just returned to my father, for advanced training. And with it, the gang was put back together in the adults, as our parents in the 6 of us got back together, each of us cub version. Matched to our adult self, what if he's mine, you ever think about that, he has a daughter. Add three more girls, and the catalyst of the situation, why Adam quit you cold turkey." he said and he swallowed hard then.
As the Coach crossed his arms as Charlie crossed his. "The mannerisms are matched, aside from the hair color, it's 4 shades darker then Ted now, but you have his eyes. In fact, you look just like him, but as a teenage version of him." Buckley said and the Coach nodded. "Same as the Coach, you're his former teacher and Coach as a hockey player?" Charlie asked and he nodded. "I knew your parents all their lives, that having it start twice with you right now in truth."
"Give it a few months, I see an affinity for greatness in your and Adam's cases, once Ted completes your training here son." he said and Charlie smiled. "And there's the pep of a true coach, compared to Jack Reilly." he said and Buckley nodded smiling gently at that. "Captain, as next in command of the team, in military training, the captain is a Lieutenant Colonel. While the Coach is the full, you lead the team, we lead you and the team." he said and Charlie nodded.
"And frankly I don't need this to prove I'm leader of the 17 of us, that shows in everyway possible, so with that." he said and took the C off his shoulder then. "Let me guess, you were all bent out of shape, he took your C away from you and started to. In your eyes, start picking on you, if your peewee coach is who I think here right now, but really. While you just met him on the first day of school, we meet now, and 7 months training…" he asked and he swallowed hard.
"Seven months training, we're so close, it's papa bear with cub bears, or with our symbol, papa duck, but as Gordon got you through basic training, I get you through it. Advanced training and we go to a strategy in defense for, and revamp the regime here." the Coach said and he nodded smiling. "Yeah but that's my job, I can create it, and we create our new jerseys under you now, as the Eden Hall Mighty Ducks now." he said and the man smiled and nodded gently at that.
"But are you idiots crazy, think about it, there's a reason we call him the rampaging bull, why charge him when he never had the puck?" Charlie asked and they went white and every parent in the school nodded in shock. "Are you idiots out of your mind or are you just plain stupid right now, that could kill someone, if it breaks the window!" Adam's sister said in shocked fury. "That or the blades up if he lands upside down here." Buckley said sternly, realizing that was reckless.
And to down right near attempted murder, with the fact the skates were freshly sharpened. "Yeah no kidding, you realize you brats could kill someone, if the blade cut someone across the throat!" their new coach said in shock. "You are such an idiot Cole, Charlie's right, why charge Portman when he never had the puck, this is hockey. Not football, we're playing here, we're wearing ice skates, not cleats you idiot!" Adam's brother said and he swallowed hard at that.
"Dad!" Charlie said and he nodded sternly. "Everybody, in range of the crash site, get out of the way, before he tries that!" he called out and the adults and parents nodded. 'Dad, dad, dad, oh my god, barely 24 hours, the bond of father and son slammed into place. More then father, but mentor, a mentor is everything you need them to be, and what my baby. Now needs is a father, if he's my first husband, Gordon returned him back to his father.' Casey thought to that gently.
"You made a few changes to plays, well we got some work to do, as we apply your version to our training before the showdown, we're ready." Terry said and he nodded. "Yeah updated the current plays, added a few dozen new ones and we create a new regime this year. But with me I never leave you alone for long, after your brother drove the zamboni through the wall." he said and Charlie covered his eyes. "Whoever left the key in the engine…" Casey said gently to that.
"You left yourself wide open for that to happen, but this is why we never leave our children and students alone for long, we do they could get into trouble they can't get out of. But if by leaving the keys in the engine, you left yourself wide open for that to happen buster. Never leave the keys just lying around, or they're going to pretend that thing is the R.C. track pal." The Coach said to finish that and their parents and teachers nodded in agreement with a bemused smile.
"Indeed, if you never wanted that to happen, get the keys, you bonehead." their teacher said with an amused smile. "It was directly after this, that he saw the need of two added adults and Jan came and gave him a hand, but you better get Jenkins and Ms. McKay. We need a full school staff, because if the Varsity neglect their grades, we're not, both sides here. Straight A students, class players, just tell me, what crime have we committed?" he asked and the Varsity all paled.
"But really Riley, you're picking on a group of just turned 14 to 15 year olds, because you're rich, but does this look familiar, as the leader of the cast, current leader. Played who back in 1983, next to a certain actor, doing 3 roles all within the same 4 books." he said and they all paled at that. "You can't win, you know that don't you, it doesn't matter even if you beat us, you'll still be right back where you were before, on your way out the door as you graduate."
"And we'll still be the lucky ones at the top with all the breaks, doesn't matter, Ducks will still be Ducks and Hawks will still be Hawks, nothing changes, but say we get in on a free ride. Look at you rich boy, mommy and daddy gave you everything, but you know what. It's we're still holding Winny and her medical fundraisers against you, if you and Hawks. Our version, are one and the same, 1992 Championships, we defeated you with 2 players out." he asked and they went pale.
"That's right lame brain, we know what this is really about Scooter, Jared, Duck up." he said and the duo separated themselves from the rest of the Varsity and they swallowed. "But if what dad says what I'm thinking, you're jealous, you're jealous we got chosen to be team USA. And your brothers, if you and the Hawks J.V. are related did not, you're furious we beat you 4 times. In 4 years, simply for these reasons, it's team rivalries, it always was right now, but in truth here."
"If you never took dad's training and we do, we're going to wipe the rink with you, but what 7 months does, we get through training. But think it over: 1 month after we start training, our scores are so good, we won the game easily. But that's 1 month, but what about 2, 3, up to 7 and we won every game before the showdown. What's this say, after your brothers got arrested by Fulton and then by dad, before we left for L.A." Charlie said and they went white at that.
"Ted was that really necessary to be following the sextet around, after Charlie picked up Jesse?" Buckley asked and he nodded. "Yeah it was, because if I hadn't the catch of said first book is the case, Greasers and Socs, the Socs tried to kill the Greasers. Reason is because we won the championships, just before Gordon came home, the spring before. And directly after Fulton tied said trio to the tree, I called the cops for reckless endangerment." he said and Buckley nodded.
"Wait what?" Gordon asked and Charlie sighed. "After 2 years having Uncle Jason coaching us, before you came back, the last one resulted in the remarks. 'I still can't believe they beat us last year', last year was the spring semester, before you came home now. Before the follow up remark, served to punctuate a threat you'd both consider motive. And for attempted multiple murder, being our current and future coaches." The girl next to him said and he nodded then.
"Charlie why didn't you tell me this, because if one of you is hurt, I need to know that now." he said and he sighed. "Because we were in a rush to meet up with you, but this caused a delay necessary that the Hawks image was forever blown now. Though if dad told Uncle Derek, it's all over town in a week and their reputation is nothing now. Especially after Reilly's threat of, if we beat them, then nobody makes the team the following year." he said and Gordon nodded then.
"Uh huh, and would this explain the cut across Fulton's arm, I noticed he had his arm wrapped, when you met up with me." he asked sternly and they nodded. "Yeah the wire got him across the arm, while he arrested and tied these idiots to a tree." Charlie said and he nodded. "Officer Jacobs wrapped his arm and arrested these idiots, before he told us to get to the R.V. point." Guy said and he nodded sternly as he exchanged firm looks with his counterpart at that then.
"Your versions names wouldn't be Alex Patterson, Jason McGill and Chris Larson would they, because after I got rid of my version. I heard the trio still griping that you beat out their brothers, before the Dean switched them with you." The Coach asked and he nodded gently then. "Yes Sir, that's them alright, so that was you, the Cherry red SUV, sitting next to Uncle Derek's cruiser, you told dad, and he was swearing a blue streak." Terry asked and he nodded.
"Jason, you mean Uncle Jason, Jason Hall?" Charlie asked and the man nodded smiling. "Yeah Jason is my best friend, I knew your parents, since we were no older then your sister. When you started your own fundraisers for her." he said and they smiled at the news. "But Adam, I'm your big brother's former Coach, Coach T. Orion." he said and the boy smiled in delight. "Right, these guys just got out of the peewees, it was after Charlie and I became friends here now in truth."
"That Jared invited him to a Friday game, the rest of the team with him the following year after they were with you, watching the plays, I could tell Riley was getting sick. And of you being on his case, till the Blakes got 3 shots in, but that did it, as he broke the stick in half. A 4 minute penalty and then tried acting like a one man team and got hooked here. After the game, I remember Jared ranting that you were benching Riley and Cole one too many times here."
"Not that he minded, you had them on a strict regime, but stay clean and training, start with that junk and no training and B's or better to play. No problem we can do that, we can conform to your rules and training, we're fast learners, Sir." he said and the Coach nodded in approval then. "Agreed, we can do that Sir, easily, so both sides of the scholarship no problem, but we been through basic training, if you're advanced, easy and no problem." Charlie said to him then.
"Karp is Cole, Peter is Riley then." Terry said and he nodded to the news. "Yeah they blow our high lead, before breaking the stick in half, but I get in his face and confront him. What did I do for that reaction, aside from asking a simple question, what did I do?" Charlie asked and the Coach nodded sternly in agreement. "Nothing, you did nothing for him to attack you, we all saw it, but attacking a team is illegal no matter the excuse, in public." Buckley said sternly to that.
"There's no problem with us, we can conform easily, so if Coach Bombay is basic training, then you're advanced training, we don't mind that. So what do you call this going from basic and learning to score?" he asked and the Coach explained that. "Two-way hockey, you learned to become winners, but now, you have to learn defense. Start this soon, you're so good at it, the opposition is never going to beat us, when we linked this soon." he said and Charlie smiled then.
"And to repeat this, if Peter destroys our image in public, takes less then a second to score, that means there is no lead that safe if you don't play defense. But doesn't matter how many we make here, the one number on our minds is zero, shut out now. But though the Varsity are good, if their ex hockey coach, before you, is who I think here. We're better, way better, once you run us through spring and summer training." he said and the man smiled proudly at that.
"Yeah it is kiddo, the old fool did both me and Gordon, but we changed and turned into this us, sure once Hawks, doesn't mean anything, and to repeat this. After taking that blow to the head, I usually defend heels like you, you scuzzy mole faced rat!" he said and the adults started laughing. "Point taken here, so Jared's entire team are Varsity Hawks huh, no problem, we got inside his head since the 1992 championships." Charlie said and he nodded as he said it to Terry.
"But his opinion matters most to us, we had one great coach and now we got a second, and one possibly a father, we're 14 to 15, still ducklings in his eyes. But like they would say, when raising said players from preteen to adulthood, we become their children. As much as their own are, but if he's what I look like as an adult, I think we walked right into my real father. So with that, if his closest friends are your parents, our family was put back together." he said and they smiled.
"Now that's a really big possibility, once we see you guys together, but after 7 months training, he says, he thinks, he believes, we're the same way with him. We are with Coach Bombay right now, only the bond is slightly deeper, if he's your father, then he's our parents best friend. But…, wait a second, I saw dad watching repeated North Star games for the previous 5 years. When leading into his retirement, but dad called him by name, Ted." Terry Hall said and he smiled.
"Ted says that the games are getting hectic, but Mike barely broke a bone, Ted says this, Ted says that, before…, Ted just retired, hopefully if the kids walk right into him, we got an assistant coach just as good as me, able to control David and Peterson finally." he said slowly and the man smiled, realizing the boy's father now was hoping he'd help them out. "Well your father got his wish son, I retired 5 years ago, but I'm the latest one." he said and the team smiled then.
"You're our new coach, so if we met you 4 years ago, we become the Duck version to the Hawks now, and the final contest to get into the school. Is based on a final post season Championship. As the Dean and faculty see us in action, before the first school season game comes on." his brother said and he nodded smiling. "That's right son, once you took my training, we're wiping the floor with first the Hawks and then whoever else, J.J." he said and he looked down, smiling.
"Uh yeah that's right Coach, that my familial nickname, J.J., Jesse Jason Hall." he said and his father chuckled. "Uh oh, do you guys know each other?" Someone said and he crossed his arms. "In truth, his father Jason is my version to himself, him and my own son, if I have one, but me, Gordon, Claire, Joey, David, Rick and Jason himself, so take a guess." he said and everyone smiled. "Uh oh." every teenager in the school said knowingly, realizing what this was now.
"Charlie, Adam, Jesse and Terry, Lester, Greg, Guy and Connie." The voice said and the team smiled as the 9 started laughing and he nodded to confirm that. "We just forgot your voice then if you were the man that was holding him in that family picture. And of him, Aunt Casey and yourself, if that's you, 13 years ago." Jesse said and he nodded. "If your brothers walked up to me, after said close call prank, you met me back then." he said and they smiled in delight.
"Before said cherry red SUV following us around town, when I was rounding the 7 of up, but…., you were watching Jesse in the basketball court he was at playing street hockey. You hear me call out that the Coach called a after school practice session, and decided to be around. So in case of trouble, said attempted bi-secting you called the cops after Fulton tied them to a tree." Charlie Conway said and he nodded and their parents started laughing and he smiled gently.
"So you're the Ted he keeps talking about, Ted Orion, his best friend, he keeps saying that Charlie looks just like you at this age." he said and the Coach nodded and their parents looked from him to Charlie and smiled. "Once we see them together we believe that even more, but Charlie is getting beyond good right now, under you, he becomes so good. He's wiping the rink floor with our arch rivals now." Joseph Goldberg said and the man chuckled and nodded then.
"Just de-age us 4 years in the case of me and Les' Coach, because if you and the driver of the cherry red SUV are the same man. Then we just walked right into you finally like he wanted, but after 2 years after the duo bailed on us. His father was relieved, we don't have him keep getting on their cases, but they get in trouble and the team is probation. So if they thought Uncle Jason is bad, well you're worse in that paternal authority tone." Charlie said and he nodded gently.
"Alright you wiseacre don't get smart with me right now, otherwise I'm going to let you have it." The coach said and they nodded as their parents chuckled at that remark. "But heads up, to these idiots, you're hearing what I would have said coming out of his, Peter's mouth. On 3 occasions if he gets in trouble for whatever reason, because I spent all summer with you. That we're what we'd be like if we met the day of the near traffic accident, while Les' with me now."
"And we drop the bomb, these idiots made us coach-less, again." he said and he nodded. "Make that 4 Charlie, the first is you handing it over without argument, the second. After he's teaching us whatever it is, the third after he tries to go one man team. And we're shouting at him to pass the puck to us and the 4th is after a brawl between us and Varsity. And we get caught by your father, if he is your father." Luis Mendoza said and the man nodded in agreement gently then.
"Now I'm worried right now, but that scar says it all to me, you look like someone took the stick to you, with that cut to the forehead, you got that some time in the last 10 years. It looks 10 years old, and that tone you gave the Varsity on multiple occasions now. When I went to Jared's games, after Adam joined the Ducks, I knew you were ticked. After he broke the stick in half after someone got one in on them." Charlie said and he nodded then and they got a better look.
"Yeah I remember, Adam and Jared invited you along and you were sitting in the section behind me, as you heard my tones more clearly. And before I saw a smile cross your face, as my tone in coaching started becoming normal, we linked that day, before. And to insure their brothers don't jump you, I was following you around in my car. In feeling like I was more responsible for you, being you're possibly my son and their parents best friend." he said and he nodded gently.
"Like you would tell us, we done our homework on the Varsity, they're good no denying that, but we're better once we get an entire summer of training. But whoever did that to you, he just made me overly protective here of you, if you're my father. Then it's too late, we connected on the level, they never did with you, as such here, so the Hawks, or Varsity. If they're one and the same, it's too late, you belong to us now, dad." he said, feeling the word come out of him then.
And it feeling right between them and the coach smiled at the title gently, as the 16 exchanged smiles, knowing the transition was complete. "Yeah Dean, my captain of the team possibly reconnected to his father, if Ted is, and what he has with me. Tripled in strength with Ted at the moment, as I return him to his father, and the sextet to their uncle now. But I'm Adam Banks as an adult, so on our own, we're good, together unstoppable." Gordon said to him and he smiled.
"Nice, so Adam is Jared's younger brother?" he asked and Adam's father nodded gently. "Jared just got out of the peewees when they gained their new name and hatched, Dean. But Charlie is Adam's best friend and surrogate brother, they're, if they were the cast now. Jason and Austin, rivals then friends and now brothers, were it not for Charlie now, we'd never have changed. But as Gordon said, on their own they're very good, together, unstoppable." he said and he nodded.
"But what Gordon has is basic training, I got advanced training and what you need in high school, problem is a certain previous J.V. never accepted what I had to teach them. But with Charlie and Adam now, the 15 of of you follow suit, and what you have with Gordon. Is made deeper with me, but spring and summer training, with the season over." he said and the team nodded. "Agreed, we got practice starting tomorrow and all week." Charlie said to him then.
"Alright knock it off Peter, dad's not Coach Bombay, but we can learn alot from him, if you'd just can the attitude, and lower those shields, man, now pipe down." he said and the Coach nodded in agreement. "Point taken here right now, but yeah you're right, if you would just lower those shields and let me in. Then things would go alot easier on the bonding process, but young man, throwing a temper tantrum every time I correct you, is not helping you." he said to that remark.
"You realize what you're saying here Charlie, that's the fourth time in 10 minutes you used that title for him, before we realize who he is to us, aside from Adam, as he's Jared's ex coach." Gregory Goldberg said to him smiling and he looked down and the Coach chuckled at that. "Yeah I know, but the familiarity is so strong, it's as though it's a normal after school exchange. In a father/son conversation between us here now." he said and Casey chuckled at that remark.
"How's that for lazy bones now, because we're hearing that all week now in training, that Peter gets so frustrated he lashes out and the rest of us are smart enough not to say anything. But agree we're boxed, no we leave it at that, but the box is like the time out chair. And we're getting too old to start acting like we're kindergartners again." Terry said and he nodded. "Time out, in this case, if he's my father, I been sent to my room." he said and Casey chuckled at that.
"I take it you mean Peterson and David by that?" The Coach said and he nodded. "Yeah like the Coach said, how lazy can you be here, they're killing us out there right now. After repeatedly screwing up, we nicknamed them lazy bones and hard head after said puck to the forehead. But trying to freeze up after Peter screwed up, is going to have Les' go skidding into the wall. Before you run a pop quiz in practice, in their second practice that week." Terry said and he nodded.
"And I did freeze." said boy said in response and they heard a chuckle. "Trying to put the brakes on, if it's not you, it's me, and I'm going so fast I'll collide with the wall. Especially if I have to put the brakes on that quickly, because Peter screwed up said move." he said and the Coach nodded. "After 7 months you understand what I mean better then they do Luis, as such, Peterson and David better control their annoyance, or it's the box." he said and they all nodded.
"Peterson and David, if that doesn't say authority figure in being a Coach nothing ever does, because we never want your temper turned on us here." Charlie added and he nodded gently then. "Well not quite like Gordon, with you guys I call you by name, but with the Varsity I did surname, but if you heard someone calling advice to you in your games. Well it was me, as you took my advice and ran with it." he said and the 11 nodded in understanding to him then gently.
"Expect trouble, but after the Coach recalled us for afternoon practice, the ending results are I'm going over the district grabbing the 7. Fulton ended up arresting Larson, Patterson and McGill for a close call bi-section at the park here. But really, how stupid do they think we are, did it ever occur to them that Terry, the Duncans. And Fulton were right behind them, I mean, this is reckless endangerment to attempted suicide terrorism." he said and the Varsity all paled at that.
"Yeah that's beyond reckless, they're talking so loudly they never hear Fulton or just an adult jump them from behind, so distraction and diversion?" the Varsity Coach said sternly and he nodded. "Unfortunately Sir, but while we're following orders, your players, both age groups, if the Varsity are the big brothers of my version. And the way Scooter and Jared are, that dad's advice hit the table, throw the first punch and done." he said and the faculty all nodded gently.
"Point taken guys, but there it is, we've spent 6 months training another to prepare for the show down, but 7 months really drives the punch line home. But answer this, if after 1 month you're at the point line of whatever to whatever and we're the victors. What is 7 months training going to do to you, during the JV/Varsity showdown, when we're 1 mind in 18 bodies now." the Coach said and heard it. "Uh oh, dead duck walking here!" they heard and the faculty started laughing.
"Yes and that's like saying dead man walking right now, because the adult in charge is going to kill them vocally, because first is me, then detention for sum number. And then the parents lay the boom right now." he said and knew they nodded. "Like we said dead duck walking and watch your mouth right now, after said insult at the moment. Do that again, and with them getting in trouble one too many times, you take my word over their's." Charlie said and he nodded sternly.
"What they say that made you lose it." he asked and he sighed. "What whoever of the team outside friends would say if the letter got taken at face value. When whoever knew her this well at the moment, but I get a girlfriend this soon after we got accepted here. Then…." he said and Terry said it in shock. "You did not just say that!" he said in shocked fury. "Dead duck walking here!" the entire team said together. "Young man, you watch your mouth!" he said in fury then.
"Alright you made your point, I'll let it go just this once, if you told that to Karen she would too, but we don't want to see that again Charles, understood." Buckley said sternly and he nodded. "Yes Sir, I promise, but this was what put us in detention, I was praying he never left, as we just yanked it together, and now thanks to another lie. We were about to be coachless again, if I found you, dad, sooner and done, our A.C." he said and Gordon nodded in relief he said that.
"And the assistant Coach becomes the new head Coach for the team, but as your coach, we're your mentor, so everything that comes with it. But next to your parents we're the most important person in your life now, but though you had me. For 4 years, if he's really your father, it's time, son." he said and Charlie nodded. "Yeah I know, but it's time and that makes you my godfather, as his best friend, stay in touch." he said and Casey smiled at that remark gently.
"How you get that scar, Coach?" Luis asked and he sighed. "Remember said rumor you figured in about a pro player decking a team mate, before punching out their coach?" he asked and the team nodded. "Well it wasn't a team mate and it wasn't hand to hand, I took my helmet off at the wrong moment, and the puck hit me in the forehead. In leaving a nasty cut and permanent scar, the player that did that was Stanton himself." he said and they nodded in shocked fury.
"So first you and then the Coach?!" his team captain said and he nodded. "Jeesh, well your's could have been worse, Janson blew his knee out, but was this what you meant. After Karp dropped and took it to the head?" she asked and he nodded. "Like I said, I know you can score a goal, but can you block one, by not doing what he did, and my head injury. Is the punchline, before jumping into Rick's hot headed player." he said and she and his captain nodded sternly.
"We can, but Karp tries that twice, I'm knocking him out of the way and blocking the goal by jumping in front of it." he said and the Coach nodded gently in relief. "Or psyching him out and that works too, but if you take my training advice and they don't. And they're Riley and Cole all over again, but my advice isn't just for hockey, but on life guys, okay." he said and they nodded. "Yeah more then coach, but new mentor." his captain said and he smiled as Gordon chuckled.
"Jeez Peter, you're acting like next year's basketball hotshot, trying to show off till the guy playing the school janitor turned coach yanks him out of the game." Adam Banks said and Charlie nodded. "And there is no I in team here either, if I have tell whoever is the new Blake Bears J.V. team to hook him to yank him out, I will. So we can run the clock out with our lead, but do that Peter, you destroyed our image right now." he said and the student body nodded.
"Alright so if we got someone to blame for a really close game, if you have to get it into the teens and you're hurt while doing it's Marks then, him and his accomplice. And 40% of us here are Duck supporters." they heard and he nodded gently. "Exactly, you know I been training to go without it all summer, but you saw me leading them for months without it now. But unlike some who might need a breather after a few shots, I swap with Adam at mid second period here."
"And then finish out, we been doing that for three years, since Coach Bombay came home, after Stanton blew his knee out." he said and his adult self as their new coach nodded. "I take you did my catch for me, trying to keep the others from attacking him, he knew he was still healing. And hit him right there?" he asked and Charlie nodded. "Yeah after Jamison struck Adam's arm I lost it myself." he said and he nodded. "Keep your hands off them." he said sternly to that news.
"Well wearing it or not, you show everything I want in a team captain, as for said coach, do I know any of these guys if they kept leaving by any chance?" The coach said and he sighed. "The last one, before Bombay, had a heart attack, but Coaches Jack Garrison, David Walker. Richard Hancock and Bill Anderson." he said and he crossed his arms. "That's my age group, I too am an ex Hawk, but I hated Reilly, ever since for his Hawk version of the pep talk Gordon gave you."
"But best hearing it from us is better then hearing it from a trouble maker, and said is getting in trouble every time we turn around." he said and the team nodded. "Coach told me of his penalty shot, I got it where he didn't now, so you hated Reilly ever since, huh. That I can understand, it's not the fact he's a Hawk we hate, we hate the fact he nearly killed Adam. When in the championships, but mess with one duck, you better start running." he said and Varsity paled.
"But really, before this starts, you guys in Varsity look vaguely familiar, so you start picking on us, I can de-age your voices. But as Mr. Banks said, Jared is Hawk, his grouping are 14 when we were 10, so add the 4 years to your brothers, if the Hawks are your J.V. counterparts…." he said, looking at the Varsity captain and the coach crossed his arms. "That's true and I'm just saying it now, stay away from my team, young man, gentlemen!" he said and they swallowed hard then.
"This could be about the 1992 championship, it is, and they're furious that we bilked them for $142,000 to pay off Adam's sister's chemo." Charlie told him and he nodded. "If they bothered to consider it we can use the fundraisers here at the school, as your idea now. It brought the money in faster then we can count, by doing it all over the district." Jared called out and the Coach crossed his arms sternly. "So the last was 3/4's their tuition?" he said and Charlie nodded.
"Yeah trying to hang onto it, they put a hit on Adam, and laid him out, with one in time out and another injured, we still pulled it off." he said and the coach nodded and they all went white at that, realizing if he saw their brothers and them together, their cover was blown. "What's the scared look about right now gentlemen, is that it, Captain Riley, you related to Jackson. Jackson Thomas Riley, you his big brother, like Jared is Adam's?" he asked and he swallowed hard then.
"The timing is just right, Jared was 14 four years ago, we were 10, another 4 years, you're all 18 now, and about to graduate, and suddenly your father tries to revoke the scholarships. Why is that exactly, could the reason be the 1992 championships right now, we bilked your parents. Your brothers for their first year tuition, this years tuition, and you tried to over turn it twice, but after the season, before Coach came back, and we won it, it becomes permanent finally here."
"The tripline with the wire was your idea, and you get jumped by Fulton, before dad calls the cops on you, and your Hawks reputation is forever blown." he said and the sextet saw the boy's father pale at that. "Well the motive is pretty good right now, in why you're trying to put pressure on the Dean, it's because this is illegal payback, because we defeated you 4 times." the Coach said sternly and their parents crossed their arms as Charlie finished it sternly to him.
"Some backstabbing: you're doing fundraising by bookies, putting an estimate of every goal you make, and that is taking time, time she and the others do not have. We can get this done faster in moderate priced goods, and got it all by March that year, that game meant their tuition. We win that money goes to Winny's medical fund for the chemo, you win, you keep it. And we start at the exact same time, but either way the damage is done." he said and the Varsity all paled.
"In case you forgot guys, your only rivals were the 11 of us, but that was then, this is now Riley, Cole, Patterson, doesn't matter how much time goes by. But in all truth here, this is considered bad sportsmanship, holding a grudge after 4 years." he said and they went white. "But hate crimes mean anything to you, you hate us, because we blew your reputation for 4 years. And in a final rematch, possible off season, this last game between us means who gets the J.V. slot."
"But you ever consider we take his training, if he's our new coach, enhancing said defense till we're so good, you can't get a shot in now. As we become one with it and soon we're so good, we're going to wipe the rink floor with your brothers. Before doing the same with you, if you're Reilly's previous team right now in all truth. As if you're Varsity Hawks, we're first generation Ducks, and for 10 years, so the Hawks die and the Ducks fly." he said and the coach smiled.
"It's been 4 years you can't defeat us on Bombay's training, but what about my dad, if he is my father, a true pro hockey player, one teaching us something we quickly adapt to. But threats, just save the trash talk, you want to make an impression, show you're above violence. But the fact you're putting a threat on my best friend, lay a hand on him, you're a dead man. You're a solo bird, we're pack, threaten one of us, you face the entire flock." Charlie said and he nodded.
As he saw Adam look down smiling at that and the 9 surrounded them protectively and he and Adam's father crossed their arms smiling. "But Bombay's time in the minors was good for something, it lead to us gaining a deeper role in being a true athlete. Our pride in this after we're protecting each other, but at the same there is no need to sink to your levels. While for dad, what goes around comes around and it's coming around, but on school hours here now."
"You pick a fight, are you out of your minds or are you just plain stupid here, basically this is the rivalry between the in-line skating teams, my double. As the leader of his team, he knew that was a trap, and though got sent home, for breaking rules, ones that the faculty. And here agrees with, we never did a bigger violation, by starting a riot or going to assault. Assault and battery on school hours, want to fight wait till after school, but right now?" he said and they went white.
"But my father gets in at dawn, you ever consider that was a trap, you take the bait, and then a brawl breaks out, he hears the racket and comes running?" he asked and they went as white as a sheet, as the Coach crossed his arms. "And when I say that, I mean honestly, what if he is and you just ticked him off, as he tries control to the tone. But put your hands where it shouldn't be, he's going furious father bear, if Claire's his best friend turned sister, like Connie is mine here."
"You keep your hands off the girls or so help me…." Charlie said and the Coach nodded in stern agreement. "Young man, gentlemen, that goes for me to, touch my girls at all like that, you're being eviscerated, before being expelled. I mean it, you ever touch them at all like that, I'll kill you myself." he said sternly then and they started shaking in fear then. "But he's right, did you forget that part, they get off on a warning, you're facing expulsion?" he asked and they paled.
"Point taken and young man just where the heck is your brain, you forget what time it is right now?" his history teacher asked sternly and they swallowed hard. "In the words of Anderson as his character, I knew who did it, so I waited till after school. And then busted his nose, but you maybe older then us, but you still represent everything that shows a future. As nothing, but a jarhead, I'm a flyboy, literally, I think with my head." Charlie said and they started shaking.
"Nice wording son, you're right: that's bad sportsmanship to be holding a grudge for 4 years as the championship is down to you and the Hawks. Well if this is the middle to high school age version of it, and we had that talk in advance, before the post season-season starts. So like I said, stay away from the Varsity till the showdown between us and them, kiddo. You may not have it on, you're my captain of the team, wearing it or not." he said and the teenager nodded.
"I do J.V. in hockey, but as they refused to conform to what true hockey really is and breaking free from their conditioning now here. That to my direct opinion, start this soon after the current season comes to an end now. That I get better results with you, starting this soon now, kiddo, you and your friends, as the season in school starts mid September here. So exactly 7 months of training, the results really paid off and even better, with Gordon stepping back for me."
"Now to become your head coach now, the bond is in place, before he trains the next generation of the team in the peewees now. While you guys connect to me, and it's the second version, the Coach says, Coach thinks." he said and the teenager smiled. "Yeah Uncle, or dad, even Coach, but Coach says this, Coach says that, Coach thinks. Coach believes, we're hearing your name in every other sentence, to know they love you and respect you." Adam's father said smiling then.
And Connie's parents chuckled. "This actually comes in handy right now, we got another coach the kids like and we can trust, but if he's one of us right now. In the parents and the adult version of our team captain now, this time we got it parental supervised. They're spending a few hours with him, till we all get off work now, but this is what had us worried, Ted. Them being out there heavens knows where doing god knows what, so you're looking after them finally here."
"Till they were 12, and while Charlie and Lester had a job at the skate shop and the movie theater at the mall, the day we had the sextet added. Was the day after school the kids had practice that day, so practice got activated and the schedule was created. School, practice and study period in that order till we got off work at 6 and the others were keeping busy. Compared to Peterson and David right now." Richard Averman said and he smiled as that worked for him.
"Yeah okay that's the schedule starting now guys, but practice from…" he said and Charlie said it. "We're 13, but this was our last year in peewees, before starting the 8th grade, but exactly 5 years, starting at 9, ending at 14, our last one. And before Coach took us on was was possibly also your class in the 1973 Peewee league, but school. If we're going to your daughter's school, we let out at the same time she does." he said and he nodded and smiled as he answered him.
"She goes to Sheridan Elementary School: Kindergarten to 8th grade." he said and they smiled. "That's where we go as well, Coach." Connie Monroe said and he smiled at the news. "So Karen Orion is your daughter, the little girl in the wheelchair, she's your daughter?" Tammy Duncan said and he nodded to them. "Yeah she's mine, if Gordon tells you this later, I can explain why my car has a wheelchair in it for going into buildings, or why there's an up ramp st the school."
"But I drop baby off at school at times." he said and Charlie nodded smiling at that news then. "School lets out at 3 then." he said and he nodded. "Practice from 3 to 4:30, study from 4:30 to 6 starting now, but these guys maybe used to a loose schedule. Well I run a much tighter ship, if they get in trouble and added to the team, once you start school here. Practice is from 2:45 to 4:30, study hall from 4:30 to 6, we did this for months, so what you see as normal now here."
"They see as brainwashing, just because you conformed this soon to my training and they're holding to what he taught them back then. So fast question after Gordon added Adam to the team exactly?" he asked and he nodded. "The way Karp said that, sounded like he was saying Soc, but these idiots are Hawks in Duck jerseys. As Jesse said, wearing a Ducks jersey doesn't make you a real Duck, you got to earn it, as what happens next is why god created it here."
"Said captains mast now, and cross examination, because you're the military courts Coach, mom, guys." he said and they nodded sternly. "Uh oh." Adam's sister said sternly and he nodded gently. "Exactly right now baby, in fact this involves Dean's implication, to the Coach and his getting inside information of Stanton's teaching strategy from his assistant Coach." he said and the Coach nodded sternly. "Young man, watch your mouth." he said sternly and they nodded.
"I'll explain later, but they provoked me, so that destroyed their relationship with me, I became Adam's best friend and we been together ever since. But Jesse, Connie, Les' and I became his quintet now, his best friends, but him green, me red. Currently we just entered season 4, only the story got revamped and the Green ranger powers are making a dangerous come back. In which case here right now, but you say, you think, you believe." he said and the man smiled.
"Point taken, he just accepted this and no argument now, and you getting to know each other over the spring and summer saved all of us 2 months of worry now, Ted." David Germaine said to the Coach gently and he smiled gently. "With the parents I go by name with you, and good to see you guys again, but Phil, no problem, another Banks under my command. Same as Jared, you're hearing it again from Adam this time." he said and the Banks's chuckled at that remark.
"Yep, but the Coach thinks, after I broke my wrist, I need a few weeks to heal, but after said attack at the championships this season. The Coach said we're not allowing them to get away with that, in fact the Coach believes adding Adam to the Ducks. Just evened the playing field, making them so good after an entire season of training. We're going to destroy them the next two seasons till Bombay gets back." Jared Banks said and their parents chuckled and nodded.
