Inko Midoriya sat with her son in the doctor's office. Yesterday, she and her son Izuku Midoriya visited the doctor's office to understand why Izuku's quirk hadn't manifested yet. He underwent multiple tests and was told he would get the results tomorrow. The doctor walked in, wearing a complicated expression, worrying Inko.

"I'm sorry Ms. Midoriya, but frankly, I don't know." The doctor said, looking frustrated yet intrigued. "Your son's quirk... It's just... I can't figure out what exactly it does."

"Please, just tell me everything you can. I want to know what might be wrong with my baby," she said hugging Izuku closer to herself.

The doctor sighed and pulled out a folder. "Your son is a complete anomaly in quirk science. In most cases of a quirk yet to manifest, we take a blood sample to measure the strength of the quirk factor. Usually the stronger the quirk factor, the longer it will take to activate. But with Izuku, the tests one year ago revile a small, almost invisible, quirk factor."

"Doesn't that mean it should have manifested?" Inko asked

"Well yes, but, it's been a year and Izuku still hasn't manifested his quirk. During his visit yesterday we took a blood sample and had him undergo many tests and analyzed them only for something unheard of that appeared in his test results. While his test results revile nothing, his quirk factor seems to have tripled over a month."

Inko, not understanding what that meant only asked "Does it have any negative repercussions for him?"

"For the moment Izuku is fine, you'll just need to schedule monthly appointments with me to keep track of Izuku's health."

Inko felt a small weight off her chest and thanked the doctor, leading Izuku out with her. Izuku being a five-year-old was confused by all of the big words the doctor had said, but he had to ask what the doctor meant and if he could be a hero.

Inko felt conflicted with the question Izuku asked her, as he pointed at the computer screen with hope in his eyes. On one hand, she knew it would be a powerful quirk, but on the other, who knew when it would activate? After a while of contemplation, she got down to his level and smiled.

"Izuku, I honestly can't answer that. All that I know is that whatever you choose to do I'll support you any way I can."

Izuku smiled and hugged his mother thanking her for her support.

Those words became an almost limitless source of fuel for Izuku's dream, to become a hero. Sadly, the flame that is Izuku's dream has started to dim. Kids in his class started calling him a quirkless Deku bullying him relentlessly. The monthly visits to the quirk doctor started yielding fewer and fewer results until the doctor finally concluded Izuku's quirk was useless until its manifestation, which he believed wouldn't happen.

Today had to be one of the worst days of Izuku's life. The teacher, going over high school applications revealed Katsuki and Izuku were trying out for the hero course. After another daily dose of humiliation and a hit to his already almost non-existent self-esteem, it all came to a head when Katsuki told him to, "Take a swan dive off the roof and pry for a quirk in his next life." After, he destroyed one of his hero notebooks and tossed it out the window.

He decided he didn't want any more abuse that day and took an isolated route home. In the middle of trying to cheer himself up, a sewer lid popped off a manhole cover and a sludge manifested itself. It spotted Izuku and started taking his body over. Frantically, Izuku scraped at his face trying to get a single small breath before his vision started fading. As Izuku's vision was consumed by darkness his body felt a burst of wind hit him, but that wasn't what he focused on. All of his life he's felt something pool in his chest, as a kid he believed his quirk was manifesting, but nothing ever happened, as he grew up the pooling feeling compressed and seemed to grow stronger.

Izuku's eyes fluttered open, he felt like he was floating in the vacuum of space. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't feel, he couldn't see-wait. Izuku's eyes focused, on the void, and he saw a single light. He regained control over his body and floated over to the light, it was small, he could hold it in his hands, and he felt power and comfort from it. He curled his body around the light starting to drift off until Izuku's vision was consumed by a brilliant light. He opened his eyes and looked behind himself to see something spectacular. A giant golden sun blazing with eight different colored rings around it like Saturn and seven planets orbiting it.

Mesmerized, Izuku floated over to the sun. The rings, sensing Izuku's presence, tried to push Izuku away, only to be scattered along the planet slowly reforming themselves. Izuku, still in his mesmerized trance reached out his arm toward the sun wanting to feel it like he did with his light. The moment he made contact the sun flooded the area with its power in the form of lightning, it struck Izuku and his little light causing a change within it flinging Izuku back into consciousness as everything went white.

A few seconds earlier

All Might, the number one hero, had just splattered the sludge villain all over the underpass he had escaped to. He spotted a boy that the sludge villain must have captured and checked his pulse and breathing. confirming the boy was at least alive All Might laid him against the wall and quickly emptied some soda bottles to scoop the villain into. After he had secured the villain in some grocery bags, he held the boy and lightly slapped his cheek to wake him up.

At this moment, All Might felt One for all burst within himself, covering himself in some sort of electricity. Before he realized what danger the boy could be in, the lightning enveloped the boy changing him. His hair became a void black, the only color being a single dot if you looked at the top of his head his pulps doing the same. His hands now supported black circles on the back, and while he couldn't see, a point of light appeared on the center of his chest. All Might suddenly felt weaker, he knew he was approaching his time limit but was surprised by the sudden transformation of the teen. Snapping out of his stupor All Might ran over to the boy and checked his vitals; he sighed in relief as he felt a pulse and light breathing. All Might, deciding the circumstances of this incident may link to his quirk pulled out his phone and messaged his personal doctor, recovery girl, about the situation and to get ready for a new patient and he rushed Izuku to U.A.
