A/N: I don't know if I need this, but just in cases (because hey, I'm a law abiding citizen. :D), this chapter will be rated somewhere in between T & M. Just for your own personal safety. :D
I was dreaming.
In my dream, I was eight again, my back pressed up against the wall of the cupboard. My knees were drawn up to my chin, my head resting on them. My eyes were closed tightly, hands over face as I heard that voice.
"Ally."
I pressed my hands into my face, trembling. I knew what was going to happen, what was to come.
"Come out and play Ally."
A part of my brain, my sub-conscience I realized, was yelling at me, telling me not to answer. Yet I had to peek, to find out if he was there.
The cupboard was pitch black when I uncovered my eyes. I squinted a few times, getting used to the dark. Light that had once been filtering through the small crevice between the doors had disappeared, and I felt my breath catch in my throat.
The only sound was the beating of my heart. Thump, thump, thump.
A sound came from outside the cupboard, the shuffling of feet, and I felt myself press up against the wall more, until I could feel the hard wall dig into my spine.
Somebody reached for the door handle, and I looked around frantically. This was the part, my sub- conscience told me, that my knight in shining armour was supposed to appear.
When the door opened, something in my dream changed.
I was no longer eight, I noticed, my body barely fitting inside the cupboard. I looked up, and saw the other change to my dream.
Standing before me was Robert, dressed exactly the same as he was the day he appeared. His lips started moving, and I stared, transfixed.
"You're safe now." The same words. The words felt warm on my skin, melting any fear I once had.
A sudden urge took over me, and I untangled my limbs from my hiding place, rushing towards Robert.
He embraced me, neither of us bothering about the shiver I felt when his cold skin came into contact with mine. I heard a strangled noise, only to realize that I was choking back sobs as I clung to his shirt, my face buried in his shoulder.
"Shh," Robert murmured, his cool sweet breath blowing in my ear. He was stroking my blonde hair softly, reassuringly. "You're safe now. It's okay. You're safe." He repeated the words over and over, his voice barely a whisper.
We were frozen in time for a few minutes, Robert never letting go of me as I kept my face pressed into his shoulder blade, his hand running down my hair in slow, fluid movements.
Then I felt something cold pressing against my ear.
Pushing my head away, I found myself looking up at Robert's face. His nose was inches from mine, that same cool breath fluttering loose strands of my hair. His eyes, a dark golden brown colour bored into mine as I felt my breath catch, this time not in fear, but in something else.
Suddenly his lips were on mine, light at first, barely touching. But something happened, something that cause both of us to deepen the kiss, our bodies automatically leaning into the other.
Robert's hand was now in my hair, the other on the side of my face as he kissed me, and I kissed him back.
He pulled away slightly, our noses still touching. My heart pounding away in my ribcage, he started tracing the contours of my face.
"Ally," he breathed, blowing his sweet breath on me.
"Robert," I found myself answering, my voice barely a whisper.
E/N: Okay, so I know what you're thinking. (WOW! She did an End Note!) I posted two chapters, yes. Why? Because I'm not gonna be at home tomorrow (when I originally planned to post this chapter), and I love to be cruel. Because the next chapter after this isn't going to come until at least Sunday. So enjoy, I hope you do! x L.
