Pain. Pure, agonizing pain as his body was set ablaze, melting his skin against the metal armor before killing him. But they couldn't keep him dead. A few hours later, he would come back, like nothing had ever happened. So, they cursed the bonfire, sending it to an unknown world, never to be able to return. Or, so they thought...
=1st Person=
I awoke with a frightening yell, half expecting the fire to still be there. Swiftly, I removed my helmet to see my body was back to normal, and I let out a breath, crafted of nothing but relief and joy. I put the helmet back on, turning to see I was in an unfamiliar place. I look at my sword, still ablaze with the Fire Gem infused within, and attempt to use the bonfire to return to the Firelink Shrine. Nothing. "Damn... thoust has cursed the bonfire." I relent, frustrated. "Damn you, Thy nameless king..." I turn to see the forest I was in, and arm myself, my Uchigatana in its Shiethe as I pull my flaming blade out, cautiously wandering the forest until I heard...singing The most beautiful singing I'd ever heard since father died...or, rather, went hollow, driven by madness. I'm still yet worried that I've killed him on my dark adventures. I walk towards it, seeing a girl with pale, purple skin and hair. I ready my weapon, cautiously walking towards her... but then I see how young she is. and I put away my blade. Despite my better judgment, I can not bring myself to kill a girl this young-put her through the misery and madness of death. and so I sit, enthralled by the grim song. When she finishes, I alert her by clapping, "t'was truly a beautiful melody, m'lady." She turned swiftly, alarmed in position for combat, but I assured her,"I am in no mood for trouble, young one." I use the warmest voice I can, which is difficult, seeing as how all the fighting I've done without much talking between has left my throat raspy. Odd, how bonfires work like that. They heal your wounds, but never any wounds that would be permanent or long lasting. This, however, does somewhat assure her. However, what I don't expect is for a small, snake-like dragon to pop out of her head. "Malady, we can not trust him! It could be a trap, or worse, a madman!" He hissed loathfully. "I am no madman. And I set no traps, but thou hast reason to not trust me. I was very sudden with my approach. I merely ask for directions to any nearby kingdoms." She looks confused but still responds "well…I could take you to the canopy kingdom if you'd like." Her voice was soft…also like my father. How I miss Father so… "y..yes, that would be nice. Thank you." I get up, and we begin to walk towards this canopy kingdom.
