Naruto stood there in shock, his eyes wide and his mouth hanging open slightly. Although he had just witnessed it with his own eyes, his brain was not able to process it. The love of his life had just been taken by the enemy and one of their own had assisted in it. How could this have happened?
"H...Hinata?" He whispered, as if hoping against all odds that this was not real.
Taking the opportunity with her enemy distracted, Yui quickly got to her feet and tried to run off. However, her movement brought Naruto out of his shocked state and in an instant he reacted on pure furious instinct. He darted at her before she managed to get too far away. With rage fueled strength he threw her to the ground before snapping her arms and stomping on her legs, making sure to hear bones breaking each time. He knew this was wrong, but he didn't care. These demons had crossed a line and now there were no more rules.
Yui's screams of agony filled the air, since she wasn't making eye contact with the furious blonde ninja she couldn't use her powers to transfer the pain to him. It had been a very long time since she had ever experienced true pain like this. Tears streamed down her face this and found herself unable to move without making it worse. She could suddenly feel his hands grasping her wings, ready to snap them like chicken bones.
"Wait! Please, not the wings!" She pleaded, her voice cracking from the pain and her own sobs.
"Bring! Her! Back!" Naruto demanded. "NOW!"
"I can't bring her back. I can't even stand up anymore." Yui cried out pitifully.
Naruto snarled like a feral animal, he was fully prepared to break her wings in half when he suddenly felt something take control over his body, only this time it wasn't Kyuubi. He couldn't move but he was aware of his surroundings, similar to the times Shikamaru had trapped him.
"Tsk tsk now now Naruto, I can't have you hurting my daughter like that." Ino said, coming out of the shadows into view, but even though it was Ino's body, she was speaking with Lilith's voice.
"Mom?" Yui asked, breathing hard as her body was still racked with pain.
"Yes, it's me, darling. I'm just borrowing this girl for a bit. I made a connection with her earlier; I knew she would come in handy someday." Lilith said while groping Ino's body.
Naruto glared, his body fighting the immobility with all his might, but all he could achieve was some twitching of the muscles. However, his mouth still worked so he spoke through gritted teeth. "Where is Hinata?"
Lilith-Ino looked at Naruto, gazing at him as if he were a mere piece of gum stuck to the bottom of her heel. "Back in my domain, the First Circle of the demon realm. I told her that she would pay what she owes and now I have come to collect." When she spoke, she sounded rather pleased.
Naruto through sheer force of will managed to clench his hand into a fist. Lilith-Ino saw this yet she seemed more amused then concerned. In fact she stepped up to the whiskered blonde.
"Am I supposed to be afraid? Would you really risk hurting Ino just to hurt me? Would Hinata like that?" She asked as she stroked Naruto's cheek with a finger.
Naruto's eyes turned into red slits as he drew on the Kyuubi's power to try and break free of whatever jutsu was binding him. Yui shuddered in fear as she could feel the wave of killer intent coming off the blonde. However, Lilith remained unphased.
"Relax Naruto, you'll get your girl back. I'm not a monster. But first you'll have to wait until after she's made it up to-"
Absolutely not!" Naruto interrupted. "There is no way in hell I'm going to let you and your prick of a husband touch Hinata! I'll kill you and your entire family if you move even a single lock of her hair!"
Lilith-Ino just chuckled, looking like she could not possibly be less afraid of the whiskered jinchuuriki, treating him as if he was no more than an angry puppy. "And how exactly are you going to do anything about it, little boy?" She asked as she patted his cheek. "Do you honestly think you can get to the demon realm? It's not exactly like getting from one village to another, you know."
"I'll find a way! Believe it!" He declared.
"I'll believe it when I see it." Lilith-Ino laughed, then she kissed Naruto on the cheek. "I'll say hello to Hinata for you." She said with a coy wink and then she suddenly collapsed onto the like she was knocked out.
At that moment, Naruto felt himself able to move his body again. Whatever invisible chains had been holding him in place were gone. Yui could see this too, she tried to crawl away but she had barely gotten an inch when she felt a heavy foot step down on her back and pin her to the ground.
"Take me to the demon realm, NOW!" Naruto's voice was filled with barely controlled rage.
Yui gulped, feeling actual fear and from a human no less. Thanks to her family and special ability, Yui had forgotten what it was like to be overpowered and unable to save herself. Her special skill, the ability to inflict whatever harm she felt back at the one who hurt her, was a very effective tactic in battle as well as a bit of a mindfuck for her enemies. Despite their endurance, resilience, and regeneration, demons don't really like being hurt anymore than anything else does, and avoiding pain was a natural reaction to anything that felt it. Once her opponent realized that they couldn't hurt her without hurting themselves, they had limited options to defeating her but she did not. Most enemies just escaped, fearing that killing her would ensure their own death too. Even the former Lord of the First Circle had been hesitant to fight her at full strength. So up until now, she had forgotten what it was like to face someone who was willing to suffer like this, and with her aiyokugan ineffective she was legit worried that she would die.
"I can't!" She said, feeling the pressure on her back increase as Naruto pressed down harder with his foot. "I really can't! I swear to you! Only a few of us can open portals between the Human realm and Demon realm."
"WHO DOES THEN?" Naruto demanded, again pressing down harder.
"AHHHHH RIKU! HE WAS THE ONE WHO BROUGHT US HERE!" Yui screamed.
"Oh Kami, my head. What's going on?" Ino grunted in her own voice as she started to get up, looking and sounding confused.
"Ino? Why are you here?" Sakura asked, coming onto the scene.
"I don't know. One minute I'm with my team, and the next thing I know I am here." Ino clarified, though mentally she was freaking out because there appeared to be a huge gap in her memory. She had heard Lee describe similar instances whenever he had taken a drink of alcohol.
"Is the fight over?" Kakashi asked as he and Jiraiya came on the scene, their injuries tended to but not treated, so it took every ounce of their willpower to keep from passing out.
"Not even close!" Naruto barked, taking out a kunai and putting it to Yui's face making it clear he would gouge out an eye if he felt inclined to. "Your brother's obviously coming back. When he does, you're going to convince him to bring Hinata back if you know what's good for you."
"Whoa, Naruto, calm down." Ino advised, having never seen the whiskered blonde so infuriated before.
Naruto glared at the Yamanaka heiress, the intensity of his look sent a shiver down her spine. "You don't get to tell me what to do Ino... if that really is you in there."
Ino jerked back, sweating a bit. "Did I... do something? What happened?" She looked around and saw that clearly some kind of battle had taken place, though she had no recollection of being involved.
"Tie her up." Naruto ordered, gesturing towards Yui. Jiraiya, seeing that Naruto would not broker any argument or questions at this time simply nodded and took out some wire while applying some movement restricting seals on her. In no time Yui was tied up to a tree, their hostage.
"What are you doing here?" Kakashi asked Ino.
"I seriously don't know. My team and I were off fighting an enemy somewhere else, then I... I think I blacked out. Next thing I know, I'm here on the ground. What happened?"
"I think Hinata's been taken away, and Naruto is not happy about it." Sakura explained.
Ino gulped; if she had anything to do with this then she was in deep trouble for sure.
Naruto kept his gaze on Yui while Sakura treated Kakashi for his injury, while at the same time occasionally glancing for the return of Riku. "What does your mother want with Hinata?"
Yui avoided giving eye contact since her aiyokugan had proven ineffective earlier. "She doesn't, this was mine and Riku's idea. She was willing to let Hinata go and move on."
"Then why didn't she say she'd bring her back? If she doesn't like what you're doing, why is she letting you do it?" Naruto pressed.
Yui gulped. "I don't know, maybe she doesn't want our effort to be wasted? Or maybe she sees an opportunity and she's taking it. But she will bring your fiancee back soon."
"After her husband rapes her." Naruto pointed out.
Yui shook her head, now looking at him. "No, she won't let it come to that. Mom may be the Queen of Lust, but she does not condone rape. Instead, she'll wait for Hinata to submit, to let Dad have his way with her, then after that they'll bring her back to you. It can't be that long of a wait, can it?"
Naruto looked like he wanted to punch her in the nose. "Hinata would never submit to your father. She'd rather die than let that happen."
"You'd be surprised what people are willing to surrender to, especially if the alternative is death. Can you really be certain that your fiancee would choose death over sex with another man if that was the only way to get back to you?"
"I know Hinata will do everything to get back to me, and she knows I'll do everything to get her out of there. She will never consent to sleeping with your father. Never."
"If she doesn't, then they will kill her." Yui warned.
"HEY!"
Everyone turned and saw Riku standing a dozen meters away, looking a little tired but none the worse for wear.
"Give Hinata back!" Naruto demanded, rushing towards the incubus and delivering a powerful uppercut to his face. Surprisingly, Riku didn't even try to dodge it, but it didn't look like it hurt him either.
"I like your resolve boy, it reminds me of my own. I bet we could have been friend had we met under different circumstance."
Enraged, Naruto threw a kick and this time Riku stopped it, grabbing him and holding him in place.
"I can give you what you want boy." Riku stated, throwing the whiskered blonde off. "You don't want your beloved to be raped, and neither do I. You and your cherished one hurt my parents, but honestly I'm more impressed by your success than offended by your insult. I haven't seen anyone do that since the last Lord of Lust."
"Bullshit! You wouldn't have kidnapped Hinata if you were impressed by her!" Naruto cried, throwing more punches to no effect.
"I did it because I know my parents. They claim they were in no hurry to take vengeance, but that just means they were plotting the most horrible kind. The kind that would have been much worse than what I did. What I did will throw them off, and that will buy you time to get back at them while I keep her out of harms way."
"Riku what are you talking about?" Yui asked, confused.
Riku looked to his injured sister. "Did you really think I did all this just to help Mom and Dad punish one human? Remember why Dad fought Asmodeus in the first place? Because he wanted to save the woman he loved. And now they want to hurt an innocent woman just because she didn't want to sleep with Dad. How is he any better if he thinks it's okay for him to commit rape?"
"You fought beside Dad to free Mom! You dare betray him?" Yui asked, looking angry.
"I'm teaching him to accept that he can't have every woman he wants."
"By bringing a woman to him?" Naruto challenged.
"Bringing her, but also making sure he can't have her. When he accepts that punishing Hyuuga Hinata is futile he'll surrender and let her go on with her life. Any punishment he gives her then will be much better than the rape he intended to inflict on her."
Naruto took out a kunai and jabbed it into Riku's chest and this time the demon did react to the pain.
"You twisted bastard! You actually believe that what you're doing is good?! You kidnapped Hinata and brought her to people that will hurt her one way or another, and your defense is 'at least they won't rape her'?!"
Riku got away, putting a hand over his wound. He could tell his lung had been pierced, and that wasn't what the blonde shinobi had been aiming for. With his free hand he reached into his pocket and took out a red ball shaped like a dodecahedron.
"Use this by smashing it on the ground and you'll get the chance to go to the demon realm, if you can survive. It won't take you directly to the First Circle, our home, but you will be able to get there. I can buy you a week, two if I'm lucky, to get to our home and rescue your mate. Once there, I can't help you, but I can get you back home if you succeed."
"Why would you be offering this?" Naruto asked.
"Let's just say human love means more to me than it does to others of my kind, and I don't want my parents to ruin the love you have. You may not understand or agree with my planning, but the alternative to what I did would have been worse."
Riku tossed the red ball to Naruto who caught it. In that moment he rushed to Yui and took hold of her before the other shinobi could react, and then both demons vanished from sight.
"Damn, they got away." Kakashi moaned, though he was also glad the fight was over.
Naruto held the red ball in a shaky hand, seeing the kanji for 'Anger' on one of the sides, then he raised it above his head.
"Naruto don't!" Jiraiya called out, making his student freeze.
"I have to!"
"No Naruto, he's right." Kakashi cut in. "You have no way of knowing what that thing is. Let Konoha's forensics determine that it's not dangerous first. You have time."
"So you believe him when he said he can keep Hinata from being raped for a week but not that he gave me a way to get to her?" Naruto asked.
'Okay, fair point.' Kakashi thought. "We still have to confirm how dangerous it is. He did say there was a chance you might not survive using it. Wait until we get back home so that if something goes wrong everyone can help fix it."
Naruto grit his teeth and kept his arm up, then tears began pouring down his cheeks and he slowly lowered his arm.
Morning came and the ninja were feeling better rested but no more assured. After confirming the absence of the demon siblings they worked to free the locals who had been taken prisoner. According to the locals, only three people were taken away, one girl and her two younger brothers, but the locals said it was okay for the ninja to not bother going to look for them. They were 'social undesirables' to say the least, so losing them to demons was no true loss on their parts. Naruto personally found that offensive but he had bigger concerns.
The locals allowed the ninja to stay the night in Dejjma's hotel and the only reason Naruto got any sleep at all was sheer exhaustion. When he woke up, he felt no better, and if Kakashi had not taken the red ball from him he knew he'd use it right now. Feeling a lack of passion, he got dressed and ready to leave immediately, to the point everyone else felt they had to do the same. Jiraiya was unhappy being forced to forgo the hotel breakfast, but the look on the whiskered blonde's face implied that if he stayed the toad sannin would be lucky to eat solid food later.
Ino did wonder if she should get back to her team considering she had been forced to abandon them, but Kakashi talked her out of it. They needed to get her to Konoha to remove any links she may still have to Lilith. She agreed, not wanting to experience something like that again.
And so the group of shinobi were rushing home, with the sense that no matter how fast they moved it would not be fast enough. They literally did not stop until around noon when Kakashi and Jiraiya forced Naruto to do so, citing the body's need for rest. Not just his, but all theirs too. Reluctantly, Naruto agreed.
"Naruto, someone's coming." Kakashi warned, having heard approaching footsteps. They sounded like someone who felt no reason to conceal their presence, but also wasn't deliberately announcing it either.
Naruto grabbed some more kunai and made some clones to make a rasengan if needed.
"My my, isn't this a fortuitous coincidence."
Everyone was surprised to see the newcomer. It was Sasuke. But there was something different about him.
"I wasn't expecting to encounter you of all people out here, but I'm not going to let this opportunity go by." Sasuke said, then his smirk got more gleeful when he saw Kakashi's current state. "I'm even luckier than I thought if one of you has already been disarmed."
Those that knew Sasuke best thought that was an odd thing for him to say. Nonetheless, Jiraiya immediately ran at him to restrain him. Sasuke looked amused and quickly created a chidori while coming at him. Jiraiya had no choice but to get away while Sasuke ended up hitting a tree with his lightning jutsu. It created a hole that must have affected the support system and the whole tree collapsed.
"Not bad, I can see why this is a personal favorite, though I'm going to enjoy using it on you all more." Sasuke declared.
'Why is he sounding like that's his first time using it?' Sakura asked herself.
'Up close, it was only a second, but I swear there was something off about the Uchiha's sharingan.' Jiraiya reflected, uncertain.
Beside the pinkette, Ino did the only thing she could to make herself useful and sent off a mind control jutsu to restrain the fugitive Uchiha. Her body went lax and her spirit went into his body.
"Okay, I think I've got-" She said, only to panic when she saw what was in his mind. Something that looked like a giant white snake with black hair and yellow eyes. It looked at Ino as if she were a mouse and she swiftly ejected herself from his mind, waking up in her body with a loud gasp and the start of a cold sweat.
Naruto, in an already bad mood, created more clones and had as many rasengans going as possible before charging at his former teammate. He really needed to make someone suffer and it was like the gods were giving him the perfect opportunity to unleash his anger before he went too far.
Sasuke looked more than eager to make him work for his anger management and summoned several snakes to cut off the clones before they gave too significant an advantage. It worked but those that could threw their rasengans before dissipating. Sasuke jumped to avoid them but a few clones came from underground to slug him, knocking him off his feet.
"You're still as annoying as you always were." Sasuke rued while face down on the ground but getting back up. Naruto and Jiraiya surrounded him.
"Wait! That's not Sasuke!" Ino warned.
"I know, I've figured it out." The toad sannin replied, his tone sad but surrendered.
"Oh, you did?" Sasuke said, turning to face them. Right now both men could see yellow sharingan eyes with black marks around the eyes themselves.
"You got what you wanted after all, didn't you Orochimaru?" Jiraiya said just before performing a Hidden Mist Jutsu to obscure the area.
Naruto twitched a bit at hearing that but created more clones, taking advantage of the fog. 'So Orochimaru succeeded in taking over Sasuke's body.'
Orochisuke chuckled, in no hurry to fight them back. "I should thank your students for weakening him in their last encounter. If they hadn't, he might have actually prevented me from taking his body for myself."
Naruto and Sakura didn't like the sound of that. Were they indirectly responsible for this happening?
Kakashi came at Orochisuke from behind, armed with a single kunai, but the possessed Uchiha heard it and retaliated with a swing of the kusanagi sword. Warned about this weapon prior to this, the cycloptic jounin substituted with a log to avoid the hit.
"Sasuke made his choice when he went to you, he knew what the risk was, there's no one to blame but himself and you." Kakashi proclaimed for the benefit of his students.
Naruto's clones went in from all angles, attempting to give his new opponent a massive beatdown. Orochisuke defended himself with leisure, but his speed dipped down and to his surprise numerous clones came in and delivered an Uzumaki barrage on him.
"You got lucky in the past Uzumaki, but I'm still in the superior body." Orochisuke hissed.
The real Naruto got beside Jiraiya. "He seems slower than the last time we dealt with Sasuke."
"If the body takeover is recent, he must not be acclimated to it yet. He's trying to use sannin level skills in a body that's not used to that kind of power. Even if he got Sasuke up to jounin level, it would still be weaker than what Orochimaru can comfortably use until a balance can be reached."
"Is there any way to get Sasuke back?" Naruto asked while a few clones were cut down.
"If there is, you're looking at the only man in the world who knows how. And I don't think he's going to share that information. I think it's safe to say that Sasuke is, for all intents and purposes, dead and it's just his body that remains." Jiraiya answered.
Naruto nodded. "Somehow I knew that. Well, guess that means no more holding back."
Jiraiya nodded in response. "Absolutely."
More clones joined the fray while Jiraiya came at his former teammate with his own sword. Orochisuke blocked with the kusanagi and noted that his own sword seemed to vibrate after the impact. If he didn't know any better, he'd say the poisonous blade was recoiling from the toad sannin's own weapon.
"You've never been one for a sword Jiraiya, why have one here and now?" Orochisuke asked, spinning for a brief moment to hit some clones with a fire jutsu before returning his focus to Jiraiya.
"You have your surprises, I have mine." Jiraiya answered, spitting some oil at the possessed Uchiha to make him less liberal with fire attacks now.
Naruto came beside Sakura, who looked like she wasn't sure what to do. "Sakura-chan, you've got to help us take Orochimaru down."
"But... but Sasuke-"
"That's not Sasuke anymore, it's Orochimaru with Sasuke's face. We need to stop him."
"Naruto's right, I didn't see Sasuke in that mind, only a monster. At this point, the only thing we can do is put Sasuke out of his misery." Ino chimed in.
The pinkette took a deep breath then nodded. "You're right, it's the only option we have left, and it's not the one you would go for unless you had no other choice Naruto. C'mon, let's take him down. Together."
