Hi again. I decided to create a series of oneshots based on different pairings and events, so I hope you enjoy!

Prompts are welcome!

Word Count: 1.2k

Pairings: Soma x Erina, hinted Eishi x Rindō

{Surprised}

Erina Nakiri was shocked.

Alice Nakiri was shocked that Erina was shocked.

Why? you may ask.

It was because Erina, THE God Tongue, the Queen of Cooking, the Director of Tōtsuki, was never shocked. Years of dedication to food culture, gourmet cuisine, and her work to the academy itself had shaped Erina into a statue that could never be bent. She ruled harshly, yet fairly, and she'd experienced everything there ever was to know.

But now, in the Tōtsuki Director's office, both Nakiris' mouths gaped wide open like goldfishes, and they seemed unable to comprehend what had just happened.

It was a cosy, quiet evening in the office, and Alice Nakiri had just invited herself in, to Erina's distaste.

The white-haired Nakiri sashayed in with a Cheshire grin, and made herself home as she lounged lazily on the plush chaise, yawning while glancing at Erina.

"Oh, hi Erina! Hope you don't mind me staying here for a few days?" Alice yawned again casually.

"What have you done this time?" Erina rolled her eyes to see that Alice's aide and boyfriend Ryo Kurokiba was not by her side as usual.

"Can you believe it? He broke up with me again!" Alice wailed, a quick change from her easy-going mood.

"Uh huh." Erina muttered, scribbling furiously to finish her paperwork. Those two were always on-and-off.

"I don't want to see him." Alice said stubbornly.

"Uh huh." Erina repeated again, used to Alice's melodramatic behaviour.

Apart from Alice's frequent distractions and her occasional prying questions directed towards Erina, the next hour passed uneventfully for both of them.

Then Sōma Yukihira walked in.

Proud, confident, and with a mischievous smile that Erina hated (loved).

"Hey Alice! Troubles with Kurokiba again?" Sōma guessed, and Alice nodded.

Then he strode up to Erina.

She didn't even notice him at first, as she was busy organising the paperwork into folders, meticulously sorting everything into colour-coded and alphabetically ordered cabinets. Where was Hisako when she needed her most?

"Hey Erina!" Sōma greeted.

"Uh huh." she said by default, fatigue finally setting in. She didn't even look up from the mountains of piles that she was half-buried in.

"So..." he continued, not sure how to approach her.

"Yes?" Erina said impatiently, now shredding some papers as she still looked down.

"Wanna go out on a date with me to Tsukasa-senpai's restaurant?" he said, blushing furiously.

"Uh huh." she replied unwittingly, grabbing another sheaf of papers to shred.

"Cool! Be there in 2 hours!" Sōma said, surprised yet relieved, and he walked out of the office.

Alice was speechless. How could Erina, who detested him more than any person on the planet, agree to go out on a date with him? Perhaps they'd already confessed to each other, and Alice was only caught on the middle of the ride?

"Erina!" she sang. "You're finally going on a date with him. I knew you liked him all this time - I told you so!" she jumped up and down.

Erina turned slowly to meet her gaze. "What?"

"Yeah, didn't he just come in and ask you out?" Alice said. "You guys are in looooove!" she squealed.

"What!?" Erina gasped, the previous conversation ultimately sinking in. "Wait, what!? Did I just agree to a date from a...commoner?"

Alice rolled her eyes.

"Ya didn't know? Well, have a happy marriage in advance anyway. I'm going to find Ryo-kun now!"

Erina Nakiri had a mental breakdown.

"What!?" Hisako Arato, Erina's secretary freaked out as Alice conveyed the news. "They're on a date?"

"Yeah!" Alice said enthusiastically.

"Together?"

"Um... with who else?" Alice said.

"As boyfriend and girlfriend?"

"Yeah!"

Hisako Arato had a mental breakdown.

When Sōma arrived to pick Erina up, she glared at him.

"We need to set up some ground rules. This does NOT mean that we're dating, that we have any sort of romantic relationship, or that-"

"Wait, we're not?" Sōma frowned, furrowing his brows. "But Alice said-"

"What did Alice say...?"

"Yeah, she mentioned that we're dating to just about the whole school. I guess we should stay together then, yeah?"

"What!?"

Finally, the couple had managed to step inside the restaurant, but not before Erina demanded that Sōma changed into a suit.

"Hello." the First Seat of Tōtsuki greeted them. "I wasn't expecting you, Nakiri-san."

After sitting down at their reserved tables, they watched as Tsukasa prepared the food, his movements flowing as the aroma drifted into the room. Erina had to convince Sōma not to enter the kitchen.

"We're on a date, for heaven's sake, Yukihira! Could you please not ruin it for once by trying to have a Shokugeki with every person you meet? It's absolutely-" Erina ranted.

"Hey Erina, hypothetically if I was to be your boyfriend, would you do a Shokugeki with me?" Sōma asked.

"Think again, diner boy." Erina hissed as Tsukasa arrived with the gourmet dishes.

The food did not disappoint. Succulent, glittering venison, layered with a dripping béchamel sauce, garnished with caramelised onions and sprigs of thyme. That was only the first course, and the other plates left them drooling.

"It's nice to see you, Sōma-kun." the pessimistic First Seat said. "Are you and Erina dating, as the rumours say?"

"Not exac-" Erina began, at the same time that Sōma said "Yes."

"We're on a date, Erina," Sōma raised an eyebrow. "How is this not dating?"

Erina flushed a pale red again, her cheeks flaming. "What about you and Rindō, Tsukasa-senpai?" she asked.

It was the white-haired chef's turn to be embarrassed, and the two saw the engagement ring just as he turned away.

Unsurprisingly, the food was finished quickly, and it was time to leave.

"Hey Erina?" Soma said. "I really enjoyed this date today."

"..."

"Yeah, I know all we did was argue, but it was pretty fun too. And I've never seen you blush so much."

"..."

He pressed his lips gently to hers, and her heart skipped a beat at how sudden it was. Only then did she realise what had just happened.

"Yukihira!" Erina almost screamed. "That was my first-"

"But I thought that you do that on first dates?" Sōma asked questioningly. "I mean, Alice said-"

He was quickly shut up by a soft pair of lips, and sensibly decided to stop talking. The moment was perfect, romantic, sweet - it was in the evening of a full moon as the sky merged from a orange-yellow tint to a pink-purple hue.

Until... "Sōma-kun, would you mind if you and your girlfriend were together somewhere else? I really don't want my customers to be seeing this..." an uncomfortable Eishi Tsukasa ushered them out.

Needless to say, at the end of it all, Erina Nakiri and Sōma Yukihira were in a relationship (they were snogging when they came back, and didn't look remotely embarrassed when Hisako caught them.)

But Erina was going to talk to Alice.

And she was angry.

Very angry.

Alice just laughed, and would, a decade later, brag to their children about how she was the one who got them together.

Ryo smiled as the light glinted off the four wedding rings.
