This was actually written for an English assignment in which we were supposed to write odes to things. My other ode was to tissue paper. I hope my teacher doesn't think I'm too crazy.

This is actually an Elizabethan sonnet, with the rhymes and the iambic pentameter and everything. Kira would be proud.

Ode to Kira, God of the New World

Before he came, the world was at an end;

Corruption, darkest greed had took its toll.

Although the good tried hardest to defend,

From under honest men the evil stole.

And then, as if a deity above

Had heard our desperate cries and heartfelt pleas-

Our Kira, out of his devoted love

Declared his will and bade cr'mnals heart's cease.

So now the world waits with a baited breath

For Kira to declare his rightful throne;

To sentence all the evil ones to death

And reap what mankind's bitter seed has sown.

No time can sully nor evil deface

A toast to Kira and the Newborn race!
