On the rarely beautiful and sunny day in La Push, Leah Clearwater chose to sit at the beach and watch the crashing waves. Something was eating at her, but she refused to acknowledge it.

"Come on, Lee. Why won't you just admit it?" Seth asked. "I think it's pretty clear to everyone…well, except to him."

Leah sighed. If only everything was easy and simple…if only she had never been hurt.

"If there's a prize for rotten judgment…well, I guess I've already won that," she snorted. "No wolf man is worth the aggravation. The chances of imprinting are too great. Trust me, I've learned it the hard way…but it's ancient history—I've been there, done that!"

Seth shook his head. Why wouldn't she just follow her heart?

"Who do you think you're kidding, Leah? He's obviously, like, the earth and heaven to you. Well, except for the fact that you haven't imprinted on him," Seth said, rolling his eyes. He nudged her, "I can see right through you."

Leah stood up and shook her head. Crossing her arms, she vehemently said, "No chance, no way. I will never say it."

Her little brother stood up and glared at her. Leah couldn't believe it when he started making exaggerated girly gestures:

"You swoon when he's around!" Seth said dreamily, as he pasted an expression similar to that of a lovesick maiden on his face. "You sigh when you think about him!" He clasped his hands together.

Leah bent over laughing. Gosh, her brother could never be a girl. However, she sobered and snapped up stick straight as soon as Seth asked, "Why deny it, Leah?"

She paused and then sniffed snootily. "Not that it's any of your business, but it's just too…cliché." Leah turned to see Seth still glaring at her, unsatisfied with her nonchalant answer. She gave up and exasperatedly admitted, "I thought my heart had learned its lesson after Sam. It's always seems like it will work out, but in the end…it won't. It's like my head is screaming, 'Get a grip, girl! Unless you're dying to cry your heart out…'"

Seth pulled Leah into a big bear hug. "It's not fair for either you or him to stay in denial about how you feel. Everyone sees that you're actually happy when he's around." He then held her at arm's length and stared into her eyes for a long moment. Finally, he said, "When will you face it like the grown-up you are and own up to the fact that you've got a bad case of the love flu?"

"What? You want a scene in which I suddenly proclaim my love? Yeah, it's never going to happen. It will never play out," Leah insisted.

Seth pushed, "You're in love. It happens."

"You are so off-base, it's not even funny anymore. Just get off my case, Seth. I'm not ever going to do it," Leah hissed.

The puppy-dog look appeared on Seth's face. He stared at her for what seemed a long time, but was actually just a matter of seconds. His words slapped her with a guilty hand: "Put your pride aside, Leah. Take a chance. It's okay to be in love."

He continued to stand there, waiting for Leah to reply. But she couldn't.

She jerked her head at the sound of booming laughter. And there he was in all his glory—Jacob Black. The man of the hour.

Seth gave Leah one last glance before he jogged over to meet his Alpha. Jacob called her over to join them for a swim, but she opted to stay dry.

Leah watched as Jacob gracefully ran into the water. Everything about him just seemed perfect to her. But she refused to be hurt again.

"I won't say I'm in love," she quietly vowed to herself.

A/N: Yeah, it's like that song from Hercules. It was just a weird one night inspiration thing after listening to my iPod. Please review!!!

Disclaimer: I don't own either Twilight or "I Won't Say (I'm In Love)" the song. But I do, however, own the storyline.
