Yukio knelt beside the running water, peering down to his reflection. Sunlight beat down on his head, heating his shaggy black strands that rested upon his head. His muscular sand coloured body was bathed in afternoon light as well as he crouched down before the water. He gently reached forward and dipped his long index talon in the liquid and felt the coolness travel up his finger. Inhaling deeply, he continued glaring down to his reflection, pondering deeply. Suddenly, he was pushed into the water by two pairs of hands forced roughly against his back near where his wings sprouted from. His entire body thrust into the water and his whole body was gobbled up by the cool temperatures of the water. He forced his way up half out of the water so that only his chest up was visible and threw back his drenched locks of hair in an unamused manner. There stood the two culprits: Yumi and Kaede, practically gagging on their thunderous laughs.

Intrigued with the female body–as usual–Yukio glanced up and down at the two ladies before him. Kaede's body, was usually nothing to take a glance at considering she never flaunted it and also because it was normally concealed under her clothing. But as she stood there before him with only a bikini, he felt his cheeks get hot with a flush. She had a perfect shaped body that must have made her father overly protective, so he had assumed. Trying to rid himself of the blush, he turned his gaze to Yumi and hadn't realized his jaw dropping. Now there was a girl who could compete with Kaede. Her body was just as perfect as the half demon beside her, if not, better to some extent. Cheeks growing hotter as he observed every curve to her body. He smile childishly at the minuscule beauty mark imprinted right above her belly button. Her red bikini shimmered in the daylight as did her pinned up brunette hair.

Even Shippou who stood beside the girls was laughing just as much. Kaede glared at the tall muscular fox demon who only wore his pants and smirked at Yumi. She returned the gesture then both rushed the fox demon into the water unexpectedly. Surprisingly, though, both girls toppled inadvertently with the fox demon who dragged them both down with himself into the river.

The trio dragged their bodies up from beneath the water laughing hysterically with one another. Splashing water in each other's faces and jumping on one another in order to drag them underneath was only half the fun.

As Shippou and Kaede tackled one another underneath the chilly liquid, Yumi found herself falling onto Yukio as she was violently shoved by the wrestling pair from the back.

"Oops! Sorry...," Yumi dragged out as she struggled to force herself off of him.

In a brief second, though, their eyes locked. He had his arm wrapped protectively around her waist as she seemed to cling to his neck. Slowly, she began to dip forward to kiss him without warning. Tilting upwards, he edged his lips towards her's. Her heavy breath beat against his wet lips as they came closer, and closer. All of a sudden, they were separated by a small wave of water rushing between the two. They pushed away from one other simultaneously and wiped the water from their faces. Both peered to the side to see the cause of the rush of water was from the brother and sister who continuously slapped away at the water with their uncontrollable grappling. Yumi forced a nervous laugh then blushed as she glanced back to the bird demon who's wings fanned out obscurely to himself since he was too occupied with his thoughts of what had just almost happened. He peered over to Yumi and watched her for a brief moment as she laughed and danced around in the water playfully with the others. A smirk caressed his lips as she glanced over to him from the corner of her eye and smiled kindly.

'She's so....beautiful. In every way imaginable,' Yukio thought as his wings folded behind him, and he stared up to the clouds from the window of the hut. He shifted his weight to his left foot as he lean against the sill of the window and gaze upon Yumi peering up to the skies with her body spotlighted by the sun. He had never realized how special she really was. Something inside of her that made him feel like he was floating on a cloud. No one had ever made him feel like this before.

"I think I'm in love with her," He uttered as a faint breeze blew past him from the window.

"What?" Shippou asked astonishingly as he pulled on his vest. Yukio gradually turned to his friend and replied,

"I said, I think I'm in love with her,"

"I heard you, baka, I just can't believe you said that? Have you ever said that about the opposite sex, before? Or is this a first for you?," Shippou mocked as he tied up his rusty hair. Yukio smirked and pulled on his own kimono top while replying,

"You are right, there. Yumi's the first one that has ever made me feel this way,"

"Well, the question is...does she feel the same about you?" Shippou scoffed as Yukio pulled on the scarf like rob that settled around his neck and frowned.

"I'll find out eventually," He trailed off. His seriousness melted into slyness as he eyed the girls' clothes laying near the corner of the room. He glanced back to Shippou and both chuckled mischievously.

Meanwhile, Yumi and Kaede relaxed in the water and talked away about nothing in particular. Yumi cast her gaze downwardly and frowned, leaving Kaede in a worried daze.

"Kaede, there's something I have to tell you. I haven't been completely honest with you. I–," Yumi started sincerely but was rudely interrupted by a loud drawn out holler from the hut. Both girls turned to see Yukio and Shippou bursting from the hut with the girls' clothes in their grasps. They began to run into the forest, the clothes still stuck to their grips. Yumi growled and began to chase the two down while screaming scolding cuss words.

Kaede was about to get out from the water and follow, but she felt a strange feeling overcome her. A strange feeling of euphoria that seemed to keep her at ease. In an instant, she forgot about chasing after the group, and swam recklessly father out into the river. She dunked her body under and began to swim absent mindedly. Her brown orbs scanned the bottom of the river for nothing in particular, but fixed onto a faintly glowing object. She took the object into her hand and examined it while trying to stay submerged. It was a large orb, the size of her palm and was glowing a passionate neon blue. She watched as the orb burst unexpectedly into blue flames. The suspicious blaze spread outwards after she rapidly pulled her hand out from the heat radiating from the flames. She winced in pain then pushed the water away from her body as she desperately swam towards the surface. Her muffled scream came out into a full shriek as her voice took to the air. She held her hand in pain then gasped slightly as she realized the blood gushing from it. Bringing it nearer to her face, she was bewildered to see both her hand and half of her arm covered with blood. Dizziness came over her and her back arched with her head tipping backwards. Her now blood-shot eyes shifted to the corners as she stare over at Yumi who screamed for her injured friend. Kaede smirked wickedly then lunged up out of the water and towards Yumi. The girl backed up nervously as the half demon came thrusting towards her. She braced herself since she had no time to do anything other, but found herself left unharmed as Kaede passed out on her. Kaede's arm, beating red.

Kaede's eyelids peeled open and her sight revealed her three comrades bent over her. Yumi smiled in relief and helped Kaede up as the half-demon girl asked what had happened.

"You passed out after you went really crazy," Yumi explained while she brushed off some dirt on her friend's bare shoulder. Kaede shifted her gaze to her wounded arm and hand to see both dressed in bandages. Her thoughts bubbled as she stood up cautiously and peered over to the river. Her eyes dragged upstream to a rumbling noise, then she darted inside the hut and grabbed her bow and arrows.

"These will have to do," She exclaimed to herself as she rushed down the dirt path. As she hurried down the path, her gaze wandered to the huge wave of water that spread throughout the land, flooding the nearby village. Her eyes widened as a huge rush of water came towards her, bending the trees it pushed against. Tightening her grip on her bow and holding onto her quiver strap, she bounded into the air above the waves. While airborne, she lined up a shot and let the arrow fly. Her target noticed the shot, though, and dodged quickly. Without warning, the demon brought Kaede down into the water with his huge clawed hand. Her weaponry was ripped violently from her and thrown onto the land bordering the river. She struggled from it's grasp as it took her lower and lower into the water. She sunk her claws into it's large grasp which was coiled around her body, but it kept it's strong, tightening hold. Her mind raced with a way to get out of the predicament she had so unstably forced herself into, but began to get queasy. His grip was too strong on her. To make matters worse, he began to swing her around in the water, making her more nauseous than she already was. Her eyes bulged as she felt her lungs start to collapse. She could take no more of this, and passed out. The demon's thunderous laugh echoed as she float lifeless underneath the water, still in his grasp.

The demon's grip was soon torn away and the last bit of consciousness she had, attempted
to revive her. She felt herself cradled under an arm and was taken to the surface. She coughed on the water dwelling in her throat wearily, then tilted her gaze to see who her saviour was.

"Dad!" her weak, scratchy voice cried. She could still feel some water bubbling in her throat. InuYasha glanced down at her for a brief moment, then his gaze hardened and directed to the shore. Once reaching the land, he pulled her up and out of the water and she lay on her side, coughing and wheezing. She quickly gathered herself together and wiped the water droplets that settled on her face.

"I knew I would find you, dad! I'm sorry I came back it's just that I–," She said as the realization of accomplishing half of what she sought out to do hit her, but was interrupted by her father's agitated order,

"Just stay here, and stay out of trouble!"

She frowned and cocked a brow angrily but decided to keep her cool and let out a short 'keh'. Her joyful brown orbs melted into golden, angry orbs as she cast her gaze away from her father. InuYasha rolled his eyes as he turned in the water, then dove underneath and made his way back to the demon. Her gaze fixed on InuYasha who continued to swim towards the water demon with a small pout curving her bottom lip. A sudden gush of blood seeped through her bandages and her limb began to throb. She sucked on air through clenched teeth and rocked back and forth in an effort to blind her peril.

A hand gently touched the wound, making Kaede shiver from the gentle touch.

"Mom!" She shouted happily while swinging her arms around her mother's neck and embracing her. Kagome was a bit startled at first, considering her daughter was completely soaked, but smiled gently and held her daughter close. Kagome broke the embrace and glanced down to her daughter's wounded arm and hand and asked with concern,

"Kaede, what happened to your arm?"

The half demon followed her mother's gaze to her arm and pulled back cautiously. She didn't really want to share what had happened to her mother yet, so was luckily stopped in her tracks of a lie by her father's angry shouts. Both females' eyes fixed onto InuYasha who was being swung around in the demons grasp. Kaede turned her head back to her mother and frowned as she exclaimed,

"Mom, please give me your bow and an arrow! I need to go show dad I'm not as worthless as he thinks!"

Kagome gasped lightly and was about to question Kaede's reasons to thinking her father would ever even think of her as worthless, but Kaede had already grasped her bow and an arrow from her quiver. She dove into the river and swam to the demon, leaving her mother dumbfounded.

Kaede bobbed up and down in the water as she glared up to the demon, vision unfocused. She rubbed her eyes to try to focus but it took her a few moments. 'What's wrong with me?' she thought suspiciously while narrowing her gaze. The demon slowly turned in her direction with a struggling InuYasha in it's clutch. Diving underneath the water, she didn't move a muscle.

It hadn't seen her. Clearly, it's eyesight wasn't the greatest. She lined up her shot and the pink aura cradled the sphere tip. The arrow flew out from the water and pierced the air as it flew towards the unsuspecting demon. It penetrated it's chest and the aura disappeared. Kaede shuddered and flattened her dog ears as she came to the surface to block her sensitive hearing from the demon's roar. It began to disintegrate, oddly leaving only it's blood. InuYasha fell into the river along with the huge masses of blood. Kaede watched as the blood seemed to precede towards her, so she quickly swam to the side where her mother stood and was helped out. Kagome smiled and rubbed her daughter's shoulders as she gaze upon her, beaming with proud joy. Kaede tensed up when she heard a loud scream. She turned and watched her father burst from the blood red water, most of the watery blood covering him. He splashed viciously at the water and screamed,

"ACK! LOOK AT ME! HOW AM I GOING TO GET THE STENCH OUT! KAEDE!!!,"

Kaede gasped and couldn't help but shiver from both how cold she was beginning to get, and her father's angry tone. She backed up cautiously into her mother as her father kept cursing and groaning from down the river. Things couldn't get any worse.
