Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon or any of the characters in it. It would be amazing if I did, though.

Silver sighed as he walked into the Pokemon Center in Goldenrod City.

"Come on out, Karin!" he heard a voice say. "Hey, stop it! That tickles."

He could recognize that voice anywhere, but why was she here, he wondered.

"Silver!" She had caught sight of him.

"Er... Hi," he said nervously. Lyra. The girl who had defeated him in every single one of their battles, and ironically, the same girl he could never get his mind off of.

"What are you doing here?" she asked with genuine curiosity. Pointing to her Ampharos, she continued, "Karin and I just got back from the Pokeathlon."

He then took notice of the clothes she was wearing, a pair of red shorts and a white tank top with a red jacket over it. The shorts seemed a little too short, and he found himself blushing furiously. Remembering her question, he replied, "I'm here for the same reason. Sneasel and I were going to enter the Pokeathlon as a different kind of training."

Still engaged in conversation, well, Lyra was really doing most of the talking, the two walked up to the counter. "One room, please," they both said in unison.

"I'm terribly sorry," replied Nurse Joy, "but there is only one room left. Would the two of you mind sharing?"

They both shook their heads. This is going to be a weird night, Silver thought to himself. Little did he know, Lyra was having the exact same thought.

It was getting late, so Lyra suggested they get some dinner. They walked to the food court, Lyra still chatting away happily, and Silver lost in thought. They sat down in a booth, and Lyra started, "So, what have you been up to, Silver?"

"Mm? Oh, I've been training in Dragon's Den, and I also recently acquired a new Pokemon," he said plainly.

"I'd love to see it later!" she chirped. "By the way, have you heard? They're opening a new amusement park in Olivine City. I'd love to go, but the tickets are quite expensive."

"Yeah, I saw a poster for it on my way here, but if you don't mind me asking, since when is money an issue for the League Champion?"

"My mom saves a lot of my money, and sends me a little each week," she said taking a sudden interest in her shoes. He chuckled. His jacket pocket felt a bit heavier. Later, he told himself, he would definitely do it later.

This is my first fanfiction, and I would like some opinions on it. Please don't flame, but helpful critiques would be nice. The actual day at the amusement park will come in the next chapter if people think this part is okay. I don't think I wrote Silver very well, though. I love him, but it's hard to write him because of his tsundere-ish-ness. Thanks! (:
