(At Judith's house)

Judith: Herb are you ready yet?

Herb: almost.

(the phone begins to ring)

Judith: hello?

Lenore: hi Judith it's your mother.

Judith: oh hi mom we're on our way to drop Millie off.

Lenore: that's the thing, I just came down with a cold and I can't look after her.

Judith: but herb and I are leaving for Hawaii and the flight takes off in an hour. who can we get to look after her now?

Lenore: I'm sorry.

Judith: it's ok hope you feel better.

Lenore: thanks, love you.

Judith: love you to.

(Judith hangs up)

Herb: who was that?

Judith: my mom she's sick and can't look after Millie.

Herb: well then what are we going to do?

Judith: I guess we'll have to call off the trip.

Herb: but we were planning this trip for a month.

Judith: well who else can we get to look after Millie?

Herb: how about Charlie and Alan

(At Charlie's house)

(Charlie and Berta are watching football Giants vs. Ravens)

announcer: Terrence Cody throws the ball to Sergio Kindle for the touchdown pass and… Eli Manning intercepts and runs for the end zone! He pushes Ed Dickson out of the way and… he scores! Eli Manning makes the touchdown!

(Berta pauses the tv)

Berta: hey Charlie you wanna make a bet?

Charlie: what did you have in mind?

Berta: my backs been killing me for a week, if Manning makes the kick, you have to give me a massage, if he misses, you don't have to pay me this week.

Charlie: you're kidding. Manning hasn't done anything all season.

Berta: I've got a feeling.

Charlie: you've got a bet.

(Berta puts the game back on)

announcer: Eli kicks the ball and… it's good!

Charlie: damn.

Berta: yes! see you in your room tonight.

(doorbell rings and Alan answers it)

Alan: oh, hi Herb aren't you supposed to be on your way to Hawaii?

Herb: yeah but Lenore got sick and can't look after Millie. we were wondering if you and Charlie could look after her for the week?

Alan: are you kidding? I'd love to.

Herb: thanks Alan I owe you one.

Alan: don't mention it. so where is she?

Herb: in the car I'll go get her.

(later that day)

Jake: hey uncle Charlie can you help me?

Charlie: with what?

Jake: we have to do this thing for school where we relate our family to politics.

Charlie: ok, well put it this way, lets say I'm the capitalist because I make the money, your dad's the government because you have to do what he says, and no one likes him, you're the people because you answer to us, Berta's the working class because she works for us, and Millie is the future. Does that help?

Jake: yeah thanks uncle Charlie.

Charlie: don't mention it.

(that night)

(Millie is crying because she has a full diaper and it woke Jake up, so he goes into his dad's room)

Jake: hey dad?

(he tried to wake up but he didn't wake up so went to get his uncle. when he got there he saw Charlie giving Berta the massage she won but to him it looked like they were having sex, so he decided not to get him and just go back to bed)

(the next morning)

Jake: hey uncle Charlie I think I get politics a little better.

Charlie: oh really, what did you learn?

Jake: well capitalism is screwing the working class, the government just sleeps around and doesn't do anything for the people, and the future is full of crap.

Charlie: very good

A/N: this is my first fan fiction so go easy on me. please review.
