This is a one-off, short piece that takes place when Sherlock is a kid; inspired by a post on my dash, describing how awful it is for Donovan and Anderson to mock Sherlock's experiments, because they were barging in on his private property and poking fun at him. Which led me to think about Sherlock's childhood, since D and A weren't the first bullies Sherlock had encountered.

"Trust issues," wrote John's psychiatrist, and firmly believed it, yet within 48 hours of meeting Sherlock, John had killed for him. Instant, unwavering trust. Either the psychiatrist was more incompetent than Mycroft believed, or someone else spoke to John about Sherlock, that night between meeting Sherlock at the morgue and the case that became "A Study in Pink." AU Teen!lock. John's friend, Sarah, has dragged him through a rather disappointing prom only to end up as the only one awake in a huge, empty house belonging to one of Sarah's friends, Mycroft, where their limo group decided to crash for the night. Bored and restless, John follows music to an open door only to be confronted with Mycroft's mysterious stranger of a brother, Sherlock.

John Watson is full of deep depression and pain. The loss of his companion has made him realize some important things. This epiphany weighs heavily on John's conscience as he tries to forget the detective.

John denies The Fall, and writes emails to Sherlock. (Crappy description. Just read it. Short. One-shot.)
