John stands in a higher moral ground that his flatmate, and that's no surprise to anyone. What they don't know, it's that Sherlock's the one that keeps remining him of that. Sherlock's the only one that cares enough and that knows him well enough that he knows that John needs a reminder. Sherlock's done for him what he does to no one. John thinks it's time to repay the favour.

They had agreed to keep things secret for a while, it was still very new and delicate. But as time passes and comfort takes over John makes it not-so-secret-anymore which in turn makes Sherlock have the figuratively longest cab ride of his life.

John wonders why Sherlock chose him of all people to be his flatmate, Sherlock tells him that's hardly the right question to be asking. Harmless Fluff.
