Okay, so I just read through this chapter after I posted it and realized that like the last three paragraphs are in present tense again. I read it like twice through before I posted it and it STILL didn't click. I would like to apologize again for that slip-up, and I think it's pretty clear that I should stop trying to write late at night because it's obviously not working out so well for me!
