A/N: Where was Charlie when he was in the car crash? Here's my thoughts of where he was. I took it from a story I wrote when I was just doodling around to pass time. Please, just give it a shot and I hope you like it. I'm planning on posting the story it's from sometime, but it's already eighty pages and I still have a ways to go.

Disclaimer: Oops, I almost forgot this. I do not own Charlie St. Cloud, sadly, Ben Sherwood does. I just wish I did as I wish I did a lot of things. Well, enjoy!

Pain

I was alone in darkness. Nothing was around me and no one was around. I couldn't hear anyone or see anyone. I hated it. I wanted out. Frustrated, I yelled out in anger. I spun around in a circle, not sure where I was or what I was doing here. This wasn't death, death was peaceful, this was making me more and more anxious by the second.

I could hear now. A voice was talking, but I couldn't make the words out. I closed my eyes and walked forward. I was met by an icy cold wind and jumped back with a yelp, but something hurt me. I spun around, but the coldness was freezing. I stood in between them. I needed to get to the voice.

I grit my teeth and imagined myself facing a three hundred pound football player. Knocking him down would mean getting hurt, but I had to do it to protect Nick. I positioned myself and made a run. I ran through the coldness, but the place after it wasn't any better. I was sweating the minute I reached it. I flinched back into the coldness and away from the red place.

A hard gust of wind came and knocked me flat on my ass. I laid there, twitching as the heat and cold devoured me. It was like I was having a seizure, no control of my body. I gritted my teeth and tried to stop it when suddenly, it all stopped and there was a blinding light.

I was falling back into the blackness. I sat on my ass and looked up at where I had fell. I sighed and stood.

There was a light to my left. Didn't they always say not to go towards the light? I didn't give a damn anymore. I slowly and cautiously walked towards it. I saw that it was a light to a house. A house out here? Why would anyone want to live here?

I yelped as a horse and buggy almost flattened me. I turned and went back into the darkness. It was better than whatever that place had been. I sat down and hugged my knees to my chest. I closed my eyes and cried for the first time in years.

Then, there was a sharp pain and I felt like I was in Hell. I gasped and I felt my body fall onto something hard and cold. There was a blinding light when I opened my eyes and a man stood over me. Who was he?

A/N: That's all. You'll either have to read the book or watch the movie if you haven't already to find out what happened. Please review and tell me if it's good!
