Chapter two-
When it had all begun, Remus had been at the scene of Black's latest crime, studiously avoiding the flashing lights of the cameras the reporters clutched.
No, it started earlier than that. It started when Remus first heard the name Sirius Black and seen the photo of a handsome young man, looking relaxed and charming despite the gun in his hand and the article underneath describing his first holdup.
Remus had heard of the Blacks of course. Everyone knew about them and the secrets around them. And everyone knew of their taste for crime, money, and murder.
Little Sirius Black was continuing the family business, the policemen joked.
Five months later, the jokes stopped and every man at the office tensed at the name. At first, Remus wasn't sure what had changed, but it was this, Sirius Black was too good at what he did. He was making them look like fools. He was getting away with his crimes.
And the public loved it.
