Chapter 12

Beck's POV

I hadn't had any classes with Tori yet and I hadn't seen her around school all day, she wasn't even sitting at her usual table at lunch, which made me come to the conclusion that she was avoiding me. I know it seemed a bit rushed to think that but for 1). I knew for sure she came to Hollywood Arts because Cat told me so - besides, Jade spent a whole 30 minutes whining about & and I quote 'how annoying Vega is' and 'how she ruined an okay morning by coming to school', 2). I sent her the usual good morning text and she didn't even respond and 3). At the end of it all, it's Victoria Vega we're talking about and she freaks out about everything and with the things that happened over the weekend, I seriously doubt that she's all smiles.

I was looking around to see if I could catch a mere glance of her but after five minutes, I still hadn't succeeded. It made me so frustrated that aft-

"Beck" I hear André yell while snapping his fingers in front of my face. "Do you want to break your neck?" He questioned.

"Huh?" I say puzzled, what the fuck is he talking about?

"You've been looking around desperately, you might break your neck, I'm worried" He said mockingly, I snort. "Whatever. Dude seriously now, what's up with you?"

"N-nothing. What makes you think there's something wrong?" I started pinching my barely touched food.

"it's obvious. First, you just stuttered" I wanted to slap myself, I never fucking stutter (well, unless it revolves around Tori). "and second, I've been telling you about this amazing girl I met at Ryder's party and you weren't even listening" and at that moment I felt like a shitty friend but then maybe I was, I mean I was barely spending time with my friends lately, I've just been so out of it.

"Hey man, I'm sorry. It's just that I'm kind of concerned about other things" I sighed.

He took a sip from his soda. "It's nothing man but tell me what's got you so worried?"

I sighed yet again. "isn't it obvious?"

"Tori?" André raised an eyebrow. I nodded. "Man, just forget about this crush you have on her. She has Ryder so for now, you don't stand a chance and besides you have Jade" He patted my back, trying to comfort me.

I laughed bitterly. "Fuck Jade and Fuck Ryder, and for your information I fucking had her already" after my outburst, I realized what just came out of my mouth and like before I wanted to slap my face again. No, wait... Slam my face against a fucking wall.

"Had? What do you mean? Did you guys hook up?" He interrogated, his eyes wide. "Man, what the fuck? When did this happen? Wait... Did it really happen?" He stopped for a second, I guess he was trying to formulate his next question, or maybe he was just catching a breath. "Beck, did you hook up with Tori?" He repeated and a little too loud for my liking. I started looking around like a maniac (again) to see if anyone had listened to our conversation but thankfully, no one had.

I shushed him. "Do you want the whole school to hear you? Are you crazy?" I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

He apologized but kept questioning me about it. I ignored him.

"Dude, answer me. Did you hook up with Tori?" he talked slowly and really clear, trying to make himself easy to understand.

"What a nice day!" I said randomly. I was trying to change the topic smoothly but it clearly didn't work.

"Did you have sex with Tory?"

"I wonder where Cat and Robbie are? I bet they're-" I got interrupted by André.

"Tell me already. Did you fuck Tori, yes or no?" he pushed.

"Yes, Goddamn it. I did, I had sex with Tori. There, I told, are you happy now?"

"Yes, I'm ecstatic" He smirked. "How?"

"André, the fuck? I'm not going to go into that much detail" he tskd.

"Ugh no, I mean how did you do it? I mean Tori is one of my best friend's and I love her but she's a prude"

"Well, I took her out of her prude-y ways"

"I don't get it. When did this happen?"

"At Ryder's Party" His eyes widened so much that I thought they were going to pop out.

"Holy shit" He then proceeded to congratulate me and claim how much of a legend I was, but I didn't pay close attention because at that moment I saw her.

"I got to go, talk to you later" I quickly got up from the table and chased the brunette beauty.

"Tori" I shouted, she turned around along with Cat who was walking next to her.

Tori froze, Cat waved with enthusiasm and I got closer.

"Hey beck"

"Hello Cat" Cat giggled. "I need to speak with Tori. Could you give us a second?"

"Sure" She shrugged. I was waiting for her to leave, but she stayed put, looking into the air.

"Cat...I mean, in private" I pleaded.

"Okey dokey" She said, walking until she's facing the locker parallel to us.

I tsked, looking at Tori with a look that said 'help me here, please'.

She sighed, "Cat, I heard Robbie calling you... Look for him, I'll see you later"

"Okay" She said then skipped off looking for Robbie.

"What do you want?" Tori asked. Straight to the point, I see.

"Are you avoiding me?" She didn't say anything, but I knew my answer.

"Okay. why?" She remained silent, looking everywhere but me. I rolled my eyes. "Why?" I repeated, my tone demanding.

She sighed, in an overdramatic way, I might add. "Okay, this is what's happen-" She stopped, looked around then dragged me to the janitor's room.

"Woah there, if you wanted to have sex, you could have told me earlier" I smirked and got close to her - to the point that our chests were flush against each other - my hand tangled in her hair.

"Wait, B-beck no-" I pressed my lips against her soft ones.

I started moving my lips slowly, but she wasn't kissing me back which made me feel confused, I mean she wanted to kiss me, right?

I was even more confused when she pushed me away from her and slapped me. "What the fuck, Tori?" I screamed outraged.

Her eyes were wide open. "I-I'm so sorry" She hugged me tight and I just sighed.

"Whatever, it doesn't matter" She lowered her head ashamed so I placed my hand under her chin. "It's okay, it didn't even hurt" I lied. I decided to comfort her by kissing her lips, but she moved her head to the other side. "Seriously Tori, what's up with you today?"

"You want to know what's wrong?" She yelled, her temper rising as fast as mine was. I nodded. "The problem is that I've been acting like a little slut, whoring myself out. I cheated on Ryder, a guy who has been nothing but nice and sweet a-and caring. I fucking cheated on him with one of my fucking best friends, so that's what's wrong." She was pacing around the small room, tears sliding down her cheeks.

I ran to her side, trying to comfort her. "Don't worry about that fuc-Ryder" I changed the word as soon as I saw Tori's menacing look. "I don't think he minds a little sharing" I said and she pushed me again.

"See, now you're calling me a whore" She sobbed.

"I did not!" I exclaimed.

"You did" She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "You're talking about sharing me and-" She got cut of by a sob that escaped her beautiful lips. "I c-can't" She whispered, letting the tears fall freely.

"Do you think I want to share you? believe me I don't but until you decide how to dump the asshole, I won't pressure you, I know it's hard" I kissed her temple.

A look I couldn't quite decipher passed through her eyes, I think it was pity or sadness, maybe both. "That's where you're wrong Beck...I'm not breaking up with Ryder" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"What? but Tori you can't be with both of us forever, it's wrong and I won't share you that long, I don't. Like. Sharing" I said angrily, running my hand through my hair.

"Beck, you don't understand...I'm not breaking up with Ryder, I'm breaking up with you, whatever we had" She said sadly.

"Are you fucking serious? You're choosing that dick over me"

I was furious, I've never been rejected in my life but Tori was able to do it and she was the only girl who could ever hurt me, I actually cared about her. My fists clenched and unclenched multiple times, trying to control my anger.

"Well, guess what? I lo-" She swallowed. "I like that dick"

"How can you say that when less than 48 hours ago you were screaming my name while I fuc-" I stopped myself when I saw her shocked face. I stepped the line and I was more than sorry. "I'm so so sorry, I didn't mean what I said. Please forgive me Tori" I begged.

Sometimes I'm so fucking stupid, my anger could ruin everything, the trust that I've finally gained.

"Don't Worry, you're right, I made a mistake and I want to fix it" She sighed. "I made a decision and I want you to respect it, I'm sorry but let's be honest, we have no future...You're still with Jade and I'm with Ryder so let's stay as..." She stopped, thinking. "Just friends?" She smiled and extended her hand for me to take.

I looked at her hand for what felt like an eternity, I placed my hand in her cheek and with my voice full of sorrow I said "I am sorry Tori but I can't be 'just friends'" I tried to smile but it didn't work. "but tell Ryder that he finally won" I let my hand fall from her cheek and I left leaving her alone in the janitor's closet, tears running down her face.

It made me think that maybe I made the worst decision of my life and that was something quite hard to beat.
