Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in forever. But, uh, here's a nice little Christmas present, eh? And when I say little, I actually mean little. I didn't mean for this chapter to be short but...bad stuff happens, like sometimes I can't decide how to go on with a chapter.
Merry Christmas/other holiday! Enjoy!

8. MPOV
As I got home, I realized that I had forgotten to stop at the stores. For a few moments, I stood outside my front lawn debating whether or not to go to the stores. It was only 3 stores, and I didn't need much. I had about 15 minutes until dinner (not like anyone cared if I showed up on time), but that was about as much time as it took to get to one of the stores. The things I was getting weren't that important, really. Just a new book and some candy and something my mom wanted. I shrugged and went inside the house. It smelled of food. I went upstairs to change out of my sweaty clothes.
Dinner was uneventful and delicious, just the way I liked it. After dinner, I talked to Ella since I really needed some girl time.
"So I ran into Nudge and Angel again today."
"That's cool. Was Fang there?"
"Yup. No progression in that relationship." I snorted and rolled my eyes. "There were two other guys with them—Gazzy and Iggy."
Ella nodded, unsurprising. "Gazzy is Angel's older brother, and Iggy is their friend."
"I thought that Gazzy looked a lot like Angel. And is Iggy just a friend of theirs?"
"Yea. Gazzy and Iggy are close despite the age difference. And Fang and Iggy are the same age—your age actually. I believe you're older than both by a few months. And they, uh, have been friends—well, they had a fight, but pretty much since they were like 3."
"If I had a fight with Fang, I wouldn't be friends with him again."
"Well Fang isn't the devil you think he is. His family died recently. He's under a lot of pressure. Iggy and him had been fighting—er, more accuratly, not talking-for like a year when his parents died."
I thought about it for a while and organized the questions racing through my mind into order of importance.
"So… Fang's only recently been…evil?" I asked slowly, hating to accept the fact that he may actually be a nice guy.
"Kind of. I mean, I guess. I didn't know him before. I only heard from Iggy."
"How do you know all of this stuff? Are you a stalker or something?"
"Uh, kind of. Not really though. Iggy and Nudge and I are friends, so we talk when I'm not here. Did you think I didn't have friends outside of here?" she asks, laughing a little.
I laughed. "Nah, Ells. You just don't often talk about your life out of here. And how did Iggy and Gazzy get close?" That must be an interesting story.
"Well, uh," Ella laughed. "They both like…bombs."
It took a second for that to sink in. "So…you're friends with an 11 year old pyro and 17 year old pyro?"
"Pretty much."
"Wow." I said laughing. "Where do they get their…equipment?"
"It's just household items, mostly."
I nodded. "So they actually, like, blow stuff up?"
"Uh, yeah. That's the point. I mean, they're not bad or anything."
"Oh. That's…encouraging, I guess."
Ella laughed. "Yea. They rarely mess up anything."
I raised my eyebrow at her. "You into pyrotechnics also? You sound like you admire them."
"No, no!" She said. "It's just…nothing. It's nothing."
"Really? Is it nothing, Ella?"
"Well…not really."
I waited for an explanation, and when I didn't get one, I gave her the universal 'go on' gesture.
"Yeah, Iggy." She said after a moment, which made almost no sense. "I like Iggy." She said softly to the floor.
"Aw, Ella. Does he like you do you think?" I asked, smiling at the girl that was like my little sister.
Ella shrugged. "We've been friends for a long time. But maybe."
"That's good." I said, still smiling.
"What about Dylan?" She asked, eager to change the subject. "How's he?"
"Eh, same as always. He's already planning my birthday present."
"I personally think you like him more than you'll admit." Ella said sounding very matter-of-factly.
I shrugged. Honestly, if I'm even being honest with myself, I did like him. Not like I would die for him, but more as a friend. But in a "royal" family, marriages weren't necessarily all based on love, which I found to be a shame. I knew my mother wanted me to find someone I loved, but he needed to also be a strong ruler. I don't know how much my dad cared. He loved my mother, but he didn't have all of the annoying stuff I did because his parents died early. Not that I want my parents to die. I was just commenting on what I found annoying.
"I don't hate him."I decided to answer.
Ella studies me for a second. "You definitely like him. You're just not admitting it."
I shake my head. "Some what. He's annoying sometimes, that's all, I guess."
"Well he's a guy." Ella said. "They're not supposed to be not-annoying."
We laugh. Then, Ella's mom calls her because they need to leave.
I sigh. "Well, Ells. It's always nice to talk to you." I say, hugging her. "See you tomorrow."
She waves at me as she leaves.
Anyone wanna tell me how I'm doing? Review!
