Pewter City – 8:00PM

"You sure you wanna wait?" asked the petite, short blonde, Amy. "You can come over to ours and meet Gary, I'm sure he'll be glad to see his best friend back.

Red had to think about it. He didn't really know how to explain it but he'd rather wait for Sue to finish with her shift at the Gym. He was crazy about her. She is like one of those dream girls to fantasise about, going out, kissing and making love, or just simply spending time together. Sue was one of those girls. But this wasn't a dream, this girl is for real and would give anything up for her. The thought of meeting his old best friend though wan tempting since he hasn't seen him in a while and wouldn't mind a small 3 on 3 battle just for old time's sake and to see how much see has improved.

"Nah, it's okay, don't worry about me," Red said declining the offer. "I can wait, we'll meet you there,"

"Okay," said Amy with a hint of disappointment that he decided to wait for Sue, a girl she started to despise, instead of herself. "I'll see you later then," she finished and then ran off to the south with her Pikachu, travelling on foot all the way back to Pallet Town.

Red was finally feeling at home even after less than a day. He got a lot welcome back greeting from a lot of the remaining people in Kanto. The atmosphere of the Pewter City was just as he remembered back in the day. The weather was only slightly warm but not too warm. As Red waited for Sue to finish he gave himself a chance to look at the small, peaceful and quiet city just by turning 360 degrees on the spot. Everything seemed the same only a few things here and there that were a little bit different but other than that, it was pretty much the same.

Red was told Sue usually around 8PM but it was about ten minutes later until she finally came out. She was a bit surprised to find him all alone just outside. "What are doing out here?" she asked in her sweet tone.

"Just waiting for you that's all," Red answered. "You took a while,"

"I had to make a call," she answered rather quickly as if she was trying to avoid his comment.

"To where?" Red asked, weirdly trying to keep a conversation.

"Oh it's nothing really, you don't wanna know, boring stuff I guess. So what did you do for the rest of the day?" Sue asked while locking the Gym with a golden key.

"I went out with Amy to see things,"

Sue mentally flinched after hearing that. The thought of Amy going out with her boyfriend – even though he may not that – made Sue all stiff and twitch with the slightest amount of anger. Not to mention that Amy and Sue were still in a pickle about their relationship and good friends. "Oh, okay," she said.

Red studied her body language and found she was a little bit uncomfortable about the whole 'going out with Amy' thing. "It's not like we did anything together like umm…" then Red trailed off. "You know what mean right? We went to go see things, that's all,"

"Oh no, it's okay, I'm not mad or anything," Then silence fill the air between the two. "So err…where do you go?" Sue asked trying her hardest to not make things awkward.

"All the places I guess, except for Saffron City,"

"OOH! You wanna go there?"

"Sure, why not,"

A chance to go out with the girl he loves? An offer that should never be declined. Especially when you're going to Saffron City the Shining Big City. The largest and one of the busiest cities in Kanto. Red always loved to this place but it was only after he and his gang got rid of Team Rocket. Back in the day, when that stupid guard finally let them in, they had to deal with them almost immediately because they were the source of all problem there. When all the threats were gone the city turned back to normal but a lot of the damage has been done.

Suicide Electrodes blew up most of the top two floors of Silph Co. and since Team Rocket were after the Master Balls, Silph Co, the people who made them, decided to only offer them to Professors for study and research and gave them permission to only give them out to the most powerful of trainers. Red still has his. He now keeps it as a memento and/or souvenir when he took down Team Rocket and brought them to its knees making them vulnerable to one last and inevitable blow. Red with Gary and Sue took the last battle to Viridian Gym and finished them off. Only back then they didn't know it was only temporary.

Now with all threats gone Saffron City is actually one of the nicest places to be in Kanto. The two took a long and peaceful walk through the big city without a care in the world. Getting a few strange looks from some of the remaining people there – probably because someone who lived on a mountain for three years finally came back – they ended up in the upper left corner of the city. It was around ten PM and pretty much dark. All the lights around the city were on which unfortunately but unsurprisingly block out the light from all the stars in the sky.

"You know what?" Sue asked. "You should go and meet copycat,"

"Why?" Red asked.

"I don't know, it'll be nice to see some of your old friends again, like Bill, the Professors, Lance, all those people,"

"Really?" Red seemed to like the idea but like always, he wasn't so confident when meeting new people or in this case meeting old friends. Not much of a talker or a socialite. "I guess I could,"

"Here would be a great place to start," Red looked into her eyes. The crystal clear glow showed genuine feelings and emotion. She really wanted him here and to feel right at home. Even now that he has no more family. Wait! Maybe now he has a new family with Sue and Gary and Amy and all. Maybe they are his new family he thought.

"Alright, I guess I could say 'hi' for a friend,"

"Okay, cool," Sue said in her sweet voice. "Meet me back at the Pokemon Centre okay?"

"Sure,"

With that Sue released her Aerodactyl and flew straight to the Pokemon Centre located in the lower left corner of the city.

Red shot a glance at Pikachu on his shoulders, took a breath and in knocked on the door three times. It was answered by a women in her early thirties. As soon as she rested her eyes on Red they grew enormous in shock and awe. She covered her mouth which seemed to open as wide as someone yawning. "Edward?" Was all she could say. Red broke the awkward silence with a greeting.

"Hi," he said simply.

"Honey who is it?" asked a male voice from inside the house who presumably is her husband.

"A surprise visitor," she answered while stepping out the way to let the former-champion in.

The husband around the same age as the woman turned his head from the television he was watching and shot a glance at his surprise visitor. "I don't believe it," he said getting up from the couch. "If it isn't Red, the Pokemon Master," The husband walked over to Red and gave him a big man hug. Shocked but very happy to see an old friend he hugged back. As they separated the man also gave him a strong, firm hand shake. "Now what brings you here from the Mountain, boy?" He asked with a big smile. "Look at you Red, he's grown up to be a cracking looking young lad hasn't he dear?" he asked this time turning to his wife.

"He has hasn't he?" she said admiring the slightly age child they once knew.

"Now what did you come here for lad? Something on ya mind?" asked the husband.

"I just came here for a visit, that's all. I'm…err…coming home I guess…"

"You here that Hun, Red says coming back from the that hell in the sky,"

"That's great Red," commented the wife. "A lot of people actually want you back, and now that crime in the southern area is growing, a lot of crazy ideas about you saving the day seems fairly legitimate,"

Wow, people really wanted him back. Not only that, a Pokemon Trainer that fights crime? What a thought! Think about it though, Red the Vigilante. NAH! Maybe not. I mean Red didn't dream of becoming a hero so why do it? Probably because you get to save the lives of the people who love you. An interesting thought. Maybe he will do it but it seems like something that should be thought of carefully. The police don't like people being heroes and trying to save the day because that was their job and dangerous.

"I guess…maybe," he responded.

"I think the young lad has to take a rest from fame and all," said the husband. "But it's you choice kiddo, do whatever you want,"

"Okay, sure,"

"If you wanna go see Copycat, see up stairs,"

The hallway was pretty dark but the thin line of light that escaped the little gap of the slightly opened door was enough to give red a rough idea where to go. He lightly knocked on the door and pushed to it open slowly. He when it was open enough for his head he peaked in to have a look. Sitting at table was an exact replica of him. Obviously getting the joke he walked in to face his clone. "You're back!" it cried then suddenly turning into a shot teen girl.

She was only a little taller the when he last saw. Her normal attire has change but the same basics were still there. She always wore things that were similar to school uniforms.

"You know, I heard Dad talking down stairs and just by listening I knew it was you," she got up from her seat and gave Red a hug just like her Dad. Only now Red realised that she hasn't grown much at all. She's about an inch or half smaller than Amy. "And look at little Pikachu," Copycat cried out placing both her hands on his cheeks a little too hard causing Pikachu's face to squish up. "He's still so cute,"

Red scratched the back of his head in awkwardness.

He stayed for quite a long, about ten minutes but that was alright because Sue took her time at the Pokemon Centre. She stayed on the PC for most of the time checking her e-mails and weirdly found took in small interest about Water Pokemon. Soon enough she thought it was time to go. The automatic doors slid away from the centre as she walked out of the Centre. The streets weren't so dark due to the excessive lighting. As she turned the corner and walked a few steps forward a familiar man dressed in black holding a black sports bag pointed a pistol at her just a few meters away.

"Scream or I'll shot," Sue froze in shock and stared at the man's familiar face.

While Red and Copycat talked at her table Pikachu was resting peacefully on Copycat's soft pink bed next to a Raichu doll.

"You won't be needing this," snarled the man in black while ripping Sue's belt with all six Pokemon attached.

Pikachu's super trained intuition kicked in. His pointy long eyes perked up in a flash. He stood on the bed on all fours focusing and trying to read whatever his super intuition sensed. It was obviously danger so Pikachu acted quickly.

He jumped out of bed and out the room without Red or Copycat noticing.

"I remember you know," said the man in black. "You that that girl who was with that bitch many months ago, now I know. Don't you try anything funny, you hear me?"

Sue nodded with her hand on her head.

"Now walk slowly into the Pokemon Centre or I'll put one in you back. Clear?"

"Why would I listen to you?" Sue angrily spat at him. This didn't get her anywhere except at hard slap on the cheek. Sue's head rocked sidewards from the impact. The hit in the face burned her cheeks and she was already starting to tear up.

"Turn around, slut!" the man in black barked at her. Sue just kept her head down staring looking at her feet while more tears continued to run down.

"PIKA!" shouted a Pokemon from behind him.

The man in black turned around and took a few steps away from Sue. "Get out of here you little rodent!"

"PIKA!" Pikachu shouted again while having blue bolts of electricity hover around his body.

"Pikachu! Get out of here!" Sue shouted to him.

The man in black then aimed the gun Sue's torso and fired.
