A wish for Madness

A Puella Magi Madoka Magica Fanfiction

Chapter 5 Amilyn

Summer school?! I would have felt insulted, if it wasn't free distraction. And distraction was precisely what I needed right now, especially since that weird dream last night. I closed the letter and looked at the clock. It would start in about four hours, since today would be the first day. Just enough the change, get ready and catch the bus. Still… I was pretty pissed that the letter arrived this late. I threw it into a corner and went to my room to change.

In the bus it was pretty quiet compared to school days. Of course, everyone from my class was probably asleep, still tired from a big party last night. Probably. I pressed the button to warn the driver that we had to stop at the next place: my school. When we arrived and I got up, I was the only one. The rest were mostly elder people, probably on their way to a store. Probably. I left the bus and made my way towards the school.

"Myra Bones?" the teacher asked and looked around when nobody reacted. He sighed and drew a stripe through her name. When he called my name, I raised my hand and he nodded approving. When the name Niamera Raven was said, nobody reacted again. He shook his head and mumbled something about wasted time. he drew a stripe through her name too and continued the list until he was done. "You are all here, because of one reason: you didn't pass the year. And I don't care if it's because you were ill a long time, or if you didn't care and didn't bother to even go to your lessons. Or that you're just not that good at learning. You are all here to study and pass next year!" I sighed and let the teacher rage on before I raised my hand to ask a question, but he shook his head passionately. "No questions." he snarled.

So, one thing straight. Summer school is hell on earth. I'd never done it before, so I didn't know what to expect. And yes, I may have fucked up the year for the first time, but damn I didn't know Summer school was the solution they'd give you! And I take back what I said about Summer school and distraction and being thankful for it. Seriously, screw it! This was only the third day and I was already worn out. And those Myra and Niamera still hadn't shown up. I was kind of jealous they had the nerves to do that. I wouldn't.
