A/N: It has been way to long since I last updated. It's almost been a year since this story was started and I only have four chapters up. Hopefully I don't make you wait so long again. Enjoy.
special thanks to MoonPrincess623 for beta reading.
Revised I've mostly fixed a pov problem. Now each scene should be centered on a single person's pov. If it looks a bit messing let me know.
Plans
Her skull felt like a beating drum when she woke up that morning. Orihime slowly picked herself up from her futon; her hand started rubbing her temple to try an ease the pain. It took her a minute to realize that she was still wearing her cloths from last night.
I couldn't have been that tired…could I? The auburn haired girl thought to herself. She went to her bathroom and took a quick shower; the pain emanating from her head slowly began to subside. She got out and quickly dried herself off. Once she got dressed into her school uniform and went to her bathroom sink to brush her teeth, that is when Orihime looked into the mirror. The pain quickly and more intensely returned. She quickly grabbed the sides off her head; it felt as though her skull was going to split open. Images of an older auburn haired woman flashed before her eyes. Many more faces began to flash by too quickly for her to recognize and a small structure surrounded by a canopy of trees. As quickly as the pain had come, it left. What was that?
A sound of knocking suddenly came. At first she thought her headache was returning, but then she realized that it was coming from her apartment door. The knocking became more frantic getting closer to pounding.
"Coming," The red haired girl called out. She quickly made sure she was descent and went to the door not wanting keep the person waiting before they broke it down. She looked through the peephole to see that it was her best friend. Orihime could see her arms were crossed with the other girls' fingers of one hand taping the arm of the other. The motion of her body suggested that one of her feet was taping as well. Her face expressed anxiety. Orihime couldn't help but wonder what was getting her close friend so worked up. She unlocked her door and greeted her friend.
"Good morning Tatsuki," She said cheerfully.
"Uh, morning… Orihime," Tatuski answered. A look of concern cross her face. "How are doing? Are you alright?"
Orihime looked at her with a puzzled expression.
"Of course I'm alright." Orihime told her, omitting her headache from earlier. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"I was just wondering. I felt some reiatsu last night."
"Oh yeah. The others and I had to fight some hollows."
"Did everything go alright?"
"Yep, not a scratch on any of us."
"That's good to know. Ready for school?"
Why did I let Tatsuki talk me out of going to check on Orihime?
Ichigo thought to himself as he walked to school. He and Tatsuki had a talk after dropping Orihime off last night; he wanted to return the next day, but Tatsuki had insisted that would send up red flags to the girl that something was up because she always walked Orihime to school and he only ever offered to walk her home; it would seem more normal if she visited that morning with no Ichigo by her side.
Now he was starting to wish that he had gone and check on Orihime. He could feel her reiatsu and it seemed that nothing was amiss, but not seeing her made him feel uneasy. What if her parents returned? Would Kisuke and Tessai's plan to keep Orihime concealed work? What about the Clan? Would they get involved? Each time these questions popped into is head he would look for Orihime's reiatsu to make sure she was alright. He walked into the school courtyard to find Uryū and Chad waiting for him.
"I thought for sure that you would come here with Orihime today," the raven haired boy stated to Ichigo as he walked up to them.
"Tatsuki convinced me that she should be the one to bring Orihime to school today." Ichigo answered. "She thought if I went to Orihime's this morning that she would believe something was wrong." Uryū only nodded in response.
"So what are we going to do?" Chad asked.
"Me and Tatsuki thought we could all get together after school and figure something out." Ichigo responded.
"There is a hand and crafts meeting today." Uryū commented. "I could tell Orihime something came up and I had to leave. That should keep her busy and give us time to talk away from her."
"We can meet up at the nearby park. I let Tatsuki know when I get the chance." Ichigo said. Chad gave a quick nod towards the gate. Ichigo turned around to see Orihime and Tatsuki entering the courtyard; with the auburn haired girl babbling on about something. Ichigo let out a small breath of relief seeing that she was alright. "We better finish this later."
Outside of Orhime's apartment complex stood her parents as they looked over the building. Kasumi looked up and from side to side observing the area around her daughter's home. When Osamu took a step forward, she quickly stuck out her arm and stopped him.
"What?" He asked. "What is it?" She slowly stretched out her hand; his question was answered when a sudden jolt bounced her hand away. "A barrier? What now?" Kasumi looked at her hand as the burns slowly healed back to its perfect smooth skin.
"It would appear that we have to change our plans." She continued to look at the barrier that was barely visible to her.
"What are we supposed to do?" Osamu asked out of annoyance. "They likely have done more to conceal her from us."
"We'll just have to get the answers out of someone." His wife answered darkly.
She had given up on trying to pay attention to the teacher's lecture. Orihime never had problems in the past but today she just couldn't get the images she had seen from that morning out of her head. Every time she focused on blotting it out or focused too much on what the images meant, her headache would return which made paying attention even more difficult. The place in the forest. All of those faces she couldn't recognize. The woman was on the forefront of you mind.
Who was she? Orihime thought to herself. Do I know her? She gave a silent sigh and looked out the window hoping to find something to get her mind off the matter.
"Orihime?" She nearly jumped out her chair from the sudden disruption of her thoughts. She turned around to find Uryū standing by her. With all the turmoil in her head she failed to notice the rest of the class getting up to leave for the day. "Are you alright?"
"Ah, yes," she answered after stalling for a bit, "I'm perfectly fine. Why do you ask?"
"Well, you seemed to of spaced out." He said in concern. She couldn't tell why her spacing out woud be so bothersome. "Anyways Orihime I won't be able to make it to the meeting today, something has come up that I have to attended to."
"Oh, that's alright Uryū. I should be able to handle it." She packed her things and gave him a small wave goodbye before heading out.
He didn't like lying to her but at the moment he didn't have a choice. He took his leave of the school grounds and headed for the nearby park where he found Ichigo, Chad and Tatsuki waiting for him.
"I think we all agree that how Kisuke is handling this, is not going to go well in the long run." Tatsuki stated right away.
"Agreed." The Quincy said. "With the barrier around her home and cloak around Orihime her parents might just try something drastic to find her."
"What do you think they would do?" Chad asked.
"They knew where she lived. They may know where she goes to school, where she works, and other places she goes to. They may just attack these places in an attempt to find her." The raven haired boy said.
"Do you think they would go that far?" Tatsuki wondered. "You make it sound like they would cause a massacre just to get her."
"I believe they were the ones that summoned the hollows last night in order to lure her out."
"That makes sense." The silent giant spoke up. "It was unusual for that many hollows to show up like that, as well as for her parents to show up in the same night. This is too much to be a coincidence."
"I think we need to tell Orihime." Ichigo finally said. "The longer she is kept in the dark, the worse it will be for her when she finds out."
"I agree." Tatsuki added.
"I can't help but worry that the clan will get involved and send more people after her. That barrier and cloak won't do her any good if they get involved." The orange haired boy went on. Chad gave a nod in agreement.
"I agree that Orihime should be told," the raven haired boy stated, "but we need to do it slowly." The others gave him an odd look. "If we just come out and tell her, she may find it too much for to handle. She has been through a lot in her life. The sudden knowledge of her parents and her clan may push her too far."
"So what are we supposed to do?" Ichigo gritted his teeth. "Act like nothing is wrong when we are around her?"
"Orihime is very insightful." Tatsuki informed them. "She's going to figure out that something is going on."
"We are just going to have to figure something out when the time comes." Uryū countered.
"I have a feeling that it may come sooner than later." Ichigo stated. Everyone's eyes fell on him. "Did anyone else see how she seemed to space out in class today?"
"So you noticed too." The karate girl stated. They both looked at Chad and he gave his answer with a nod.
"I did as well," Uryū said, "but there isn't much we can do about it for now."
Isshin found himself digging through his drawers of his desk in the clinic looking for a slip of paper. It had been five years since he had last used the information written down on it. That day had been the only time he had ever lost a patient and it had been difficult for him to dig through his wife's old things to find it that time. After what seemed to have been half an hour of searching, the ex-soul reaper finally found it. He quickly skimmed through the information on it until he found the bit he wanted. He picked up the phone on his desk and dialed the number. After three rings his call was answered.
"Hello, this is Suzume Inoue speaking, can I help you?"
A/N: I'll try to get chapters out soon and try to make them longer like the first two chapters. As always I open to suggestions for improvement.
